Melanie wobbled into the wood and settled near a tall tree, covered in the scent of pine. It was relaxing, and she fell asleep easily as she lay her head against its trunk, the leaves swaying in a windy lullaby... ------------- Keith walked in through the woods, blatantly confused. Dude, I am totally lost... Neat~!
He walked around, looking for the school and carrying his knapsack, but ended up going in a huge circle. This is getting more ridiculous, even for me! And classes have probably started for a long time already...
Finally, Keith decided to sit against a tree and look through his sack of stuff to find an old cassette tape player. He popped in some Elvis Presley, put on his headphones, and looked through a Spiderman comic book. However, unknown to him was that he was sharing the same tree as Melanie, who was sleeping on the other side...
((Gah!!! I haven't been on for long, and I doubt I'll have much time later, so my characters are going to have a sucky attendence record. Very sorry in advance to whoever reads this. Hopefully they might have some Independent Study work to do, or something...))

Soon Keith began to hum the tune to "Blue Suede Shoes," waking Melanie. "You know, it's a bit hard to sleep with that racket in the background."
Keith nearly jumped up. He turned off the cassette player, grabbed his stuff, and walked around the tree. "Whoa, I didn't expect a chick sitting here. Hi, I'm Keith!"
Mel just watched as the weird red-head held out his hand. She shook it (although she didn't really want to) and replied, "My name is Phoebe, School of Death. Which school are you?"
This caused Keith to frown. "School of Death? I thought I was at Aurora High."
"You are, it's just a 'sub-school' or something. Like a category to put us in. You should have been told your school before you came here."
Keith stood silent for a bit, then looked as if he had a eureka moment. "Oh, that's what they meant by 'School of Light.' I thought it was about my skin color or something."
"A-are you serious? Look, don't you have a class to go to? I don't plan on going yet, since I missed so much already, but looking at your sack, this is your first day. Secondary classes should still be going on, and..."
"W-wait, secondary classes are starting?! Crap, I am so late..." Keith ran off in the direction of the classrooms.
"Hold on! Don't you want to drop your stuff off at the dorms first?!" Melanie shouted after the boy. Then she decided to head for the library to study on something relevant to magic, or else she might be left behind. Her only thought about Keith was, What a weirdo...

Trace walked slowly to the woods, making sure he wasn't rushing Joslyn, who was still walking unsteadily. It worried him, but they made it there alright, so he set her down gently against a tree, sitting next to her and leaning against the tree as well. "Here we are... Why did you want to come here?" he asked, looking around. "I mean, it's cool and all... Just... I dunno," he said, shrugging.

She smiled a bit. "One, because it's one of the few places here we haven't yet been to. And two, because that nurse creeps me out." She stiffled a laugh. "And that elixir...made me a little...loopy, in a way." She laughed a little.

Trace smiled. She was talking a lot more, she was probably starting to feel better. That was good. "Loopy?" he asked, chuckling. "What exactly do you mean by that?"

"Well, as a doctor would put it, hyperactive." She glanced around the woods. "It's not too dark..."

Trace smiled. "It's never too dark, after being blind. I can see just fine," he said, chuckling. "But I thought you said you were immune to hyperactivity!" he laughed, and nudged her gently, making sure that just in case she still wasn't all the way okay, she wasn't hurt more or anything.

"That's when I have amp. But, sadly, I haven't had any amp..." She began to laugh again, nudging him back. Something's not right... She thought to herself. Why can't I say that out loud?

Trace chuckled. "Yeah, I guess. And it's past curfew... The restaurant is probably closed. Ah well," he said, shrugging. He noticed the look on her face. "What's up?" he asked, frowning. "You alright?"

She snickered. "Of course I'm alright. Never been better." She leaned back against the giant oak, smiling brightly.

"Okay, good." He laughed. "Just making sure." He smiled too, and looked up at the trees.
(Sorry, my internet is messing up...)

(Yours too? Mine was completely screwed up, and gaia wouldn't load...)
She rested her head on his shoulder. "Did I thank you for earlier?"

"What about earlier?" Trace asked, smiling and putting his arm around her.
