No, no no! Rhea wasn't ready yet! Why did the kits have to come so soon? She wasn't ready for the pain!

For the first time in her life, Rhea was about to give birth to four, kicking-like-hell kits. The pains had been coming all day, and now they were nearly all jumbled into one, long stream of gut-wrenching contractions. Brannx was outside the den, watching Trouble play around. It's not like the pup would notice if Brannx was gone for a minute, he was in his own little world most of the time, anyway.

"Brannx. Come in here now." Her voice was through gritted teeth, locked jaws. The male fox seemed to sense-thank God-the his vixen mate was in distress, and crawled into their dirt-den. Gladly, it was spacious. Big enough for a family of seven...until Trouble grew to his full potential. The male's fur was bristled, eyes narrowed.

Rhea was laying on her side, head raised. She knew it was time, he did too. So, they prepared. And soon, Rhea had four beautiful kits suckling at her side.

The first few weeks had been rough, or at least the two fox parents thought so. The kits were always yelping, or crying, or stumbling blindly around the den. Nearly drove their mother to insanity when Trouble thought it funny to parade the kits around on his back and in his teeth. To him, they were just new brothers and sisters. Not at all in danger of his jaws.

But it was all worth it, the day the kits eyes opened...

Inanna heard sounds, more clear than she had before, as though slowly her ability to hear opened. It didn't really frighten her, though she was curious to also see and find out what the sounds were, which echoed at times throughout the den. Her eyes did not seem to wish to open, perhaps she was still sleepy from a restless nap. Slowly her mouth parted, giving a little yawn as she stood up back onto her rump. Her eyes began to open, blinking a couple times before her blurred vision finally came into better focus and the shadows were gone.

The first she saw, was another kit about her size, white with yellow markings. She saw too a larger fox, but the scent from them both was a familiar one and so she did not fear, as she half-waddled toward them. As she stumbled forward toward them, instead of a whimper she gave a giggle as the cave seemed to spin slightly for just a brief moment. In that moment she stilled, watching the father-daughter pair with a twinkle in her eyes, her tail wagged as she chirruped squeakily and pounced forward at them only to fall to her side and roll onto her back. Still she did not make a sound of pain or distress, but simply giggled.

Kaz gave a delighted squeak as her sister fell over, and she found it hilarious. If her untaught tongue could only form words...She reached out a paw to her, gently batting at her shoulder and standing to pounce as well. It was starnge, to be standing and knowing where you were going. Her front paws crouched instinctually, and her butt hovered in the air, tail raised. Only, instead of powerfully springing like a true vixen, she fell over into her father's waiting foreleg. This erupted a chuckle from the fox.

Brannx watched as his second daughter opened her eyes, and waddled around towards them. So this was what they had been waiting for their kits to do in the first six weeks. It was well worth the wait. He reached over Lookaz to give Inanna a lick across the muzzle. They were just all so happy, and untroubled. It made Brannx's mind wander back to his memories of a kit, but they were quickly shot down. No, he wouldn't think of his kithood. Not the time to be sad.

His daughters made sure of that.

The last female, Demi, was making squeaking noises froma few feet away. Surely her ears had opened, but her eyes were still closed shut. A pang sounded through the fox's heart, as he awaited for her eyes to open. His eyes also glanced to his only son, still sleeping next to his side. Maybe the two were just late bloomers, as Brannx had been. Nothing was wrong with his kits. They were perfect.

Rhea was just approaching the den when she heard the delighted noises her mate was making. Hmm. Maybe the kits were doing their blind summersaults again? As she licked the rabbit's blood clean from her muzzle, her back crouched so she could enter the den properly.

"Brannx? Are they doing th..." Her thoughts ran blank as she saw her two daughters, eyes bright and open, stumbling around their father as he smiled down at them. He'd never looked happier in his life, and his eyes had a certain shimmer in them. Slowly, she inched over to him, picking her squeaking kit, Demi, into her jaws and settling her inbetween her paws as she lay down next to Brannx. So today was the day. They were opening her eyes! How long had she waited for this day to come? Six weeks? It seemed now that time had not mattered before this moment, she even forgot to worry about Trouble, who was out playing with a squirrel or something.

"Come on, dear. It's alright to see." She looked down at Demi, licking the young kit's ears and smiling. Her shoulder leaned into Brannx's, and she giggled a bit herself.

Brannx gave his mate a quick lick before turning to his only son. He had made an angry sound- one much like a growl, to his amusement - a few moments before, and was now curled up again into his side. Probablu still sleeping, Brannx presumed. Brannx gave his son a loving nudge, coaxing him to wake up and join his siblings in the world of sight.

"Son..."

A small, dark brown paw reached out from the mass of fur to softly bat at his fathers prodding muzzle. Did the older male not realize that he wasn't yet ready to join the world of the seeing - if only for his own selfish reasons. Another small grumble escaped the half-sleeping kits mouth as he continued to blindly swing at the air until eventually the small paw came to land softly on his father nose, resting there for a moment before slowly falling back to the ground with a soft thumping noise.

He knew he couldn't keep them waiting forever. His siblings had probably all opened there eyes already - not that he cared much for what his siblings were doing. His parents were probably growing worried over whether or not this was going to pose a problem for their otherwise perfect litter.

From somewhere else in the den he could hear one of his siblings giggling at something. Surely this situation couldn't be considered comical in any means. In fact, for the adults present it may have grown to become a bit of an issue, though again, Rift really couldn't bring himself to care at the moment. This is what they get for waking him up before he was ready.

Otogizoushi- The Emperor, feeling sorry for his people’s suffering, orders Minamoto No Raiko, who was an expert bowman, to search for the legendary comma-shaped bead which has supernatural powers that can bring about peace in the capital.However, Raiko is stricken by the epidemic and takes to his sickbed. Therefore, the last daughter of Minamoto, Hikaru No Kimi, hides her femininity and undertakes the journey to find the bead in her elder brother's stead. Basilisk- The year is 1614 AD. Two warring ninja clans, each supporting a son of Hidetada Tokugawa as the next shogun, send ten representatives each to fight to the death for the possession of a scroll. The prize: the annihilation of the other and the staunch support of the Tokugawa government for the winning clan for the next thousand years. Trinity Blood - The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vaticans. However, he is also part of "Ax", a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires. GunSlinger Girl-It's a sad story about suffering girls who have lost their past but who still cling to life. After they are brainwashed, they can kill with an innocent face and without any hesitation. They don't think about their deeds nor feel any pity. However, behind their cute disguises, they are destroying themselves and refusing to grow up. D.Gray-man- Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side. Monster- Kenzou Tenma, a Japanese brain surgeon in Germany, had it all: incredible skill at his work, a rich and beautiful fiancee, and a promising career at his hospital. However, after becoming disenchanted by hospital politics, he chose to save the life of a young boy who got shot in the head over the life of the mayor. As a result he lost the support of the hospital director, as well as his position in the hospital and his fiance. A short time later, the hospital director and the doctors that replaced him were murdered, and once again he was catapulted back onto the top. But as the chief suspect of the murders, Tenma did not get a easy life. As a matter of fact, it seems that the boy he saved was much more than he had appeared to be... Now to clear his name and to correct his past mistake, Tenma must get to the bottom of these and other murders, and investigate the truth of the Monster who is behind all of this. Vampire Princess Miyu- Stranded in the space between human and demon, Miyu was born a vampire and charged with the responsibility of returning evil demons called Shinma to the dark. Being eternally 13, she yearns to return to the dark herself but not until she has banished the Shinma from Earth. And since her awakening, she remains cut off by the facts of who and what she is. Master Mosquiton- In the 1920's, Inaho ressurrects a vampire named Mosquiton with her blood. He awakens and becomes her slave. Now, Inaho is after the O-Part, which will grant her immortality. However, a bunch of supernatural monsters are out to stop them from achieving their goal. *someone wanted me to put this one up REALLY badly..* Mushishi- They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the "Mushi". Paranoia Agent- An elementary school kid dubbed with the title "shounen bat" or "lil slugger" has been going around attacking people with his bent, golden bat. Now, two detectives are investigating so they can stop this kid from making any more attacks, but they will find out soon enough... that this case is much more than they expected. Hellsing- Hellsing follows the antiheroic vampire, Alucard, and a police girl-turned-vampire, Seras Victoria, two vampires employed by the vampire-extermination group of England, the Hellsing Organization. Slowly but surely, through their active duty, they find a new breed of vampires beginning to arise. XXXHOLIC- Kimihiro Watanuki is a young boy with a cursed gift. He has the ability to see evil spirits, and somehow they seem attracted to himself. One day he meets a misterious woman who names herself Yuuko. She claims to have the means to end his torment, but she never works for free, and she wouldn't help him until he works for her enough to pay for her services. Thus he starts to work in her shop and discovers that in that place, nothing is what it seems. Ergo Proxy- The domed city of Romd is an impenetrable would-be utopia where humans and robots coexist and everything is under complete government control - or so it appears. While working on a mysterious murder case, Re-l Mayer, a female detective from the Civilian Intelligence Office, receives a foreboding message that something is going to "awaken." That night, she's attacked by a deformed super-being. What was this unidentified monster that attacked her, and who was the figure that came in between them? As Re-l attempts to unlock this spiraling mystery, a metaphysical battle cry leads her to the unknown outside world... They are detectives who are investigating the legends to reveal their truths...and bring those in the wrong to justice. Each time Momosuke meets the Ongyou he must face horrible truths and battle with his morals, but he's seeing things he shouldn't be seeing... Night Head Genesis- 'It is said that 70% of human brain capacity is unused. If human posses incredible power, it is strongly believed to be lying dormant within this region. This unused 70% brain capacity is known as "Night Head".' The famous work 'NIGHT HEAD' is going to break the silence... They were abandoned by their parents because of the psychic power they possess. He's a man of science himself, and does not believe much until he has seen it, yet it is many times he is surprised by love and nature often overpowering the science he bases his life in. Ghost Hunt- Telling ghost stories is a favorite past time of Mai Taniyama and her friends--that is, until she meets 17 year-old Kazuya Shibuya, the man sent by Shibuya Psychic Research Center to investigate paranormal activity at a supposedly haunted school. When Mai gets caught in a dangerous situation, she is rescued by Kazuya's assistant. Saving her lands the assistant incapacitated, and Kazuya demands that Mai become his assistant, instead... He finds the best (and the only willing) person for the job when he meets Komugi Nakahara. Komugi is a playful, lazy, and easily distracted (typical) teenager whose dream is to become a cosplay idol. Balancing her career with the Kiri-Pro Promotion Company and her new job battling Ungrar's loyal henchman, the Magical Maid Koyori, Komugi delights audiences in this parody anime series. Shingetsutan Tsukihime - After Shiki Tohno recovered from his accident as a child, he discovered that he could see "lifelines" of things, be it living or non-living. Shortly after he returns to his home however, he unexplainably kills a girl, only to find that she, known as Arclueid the vampire, comes back to him and demands that he protect and help her for killing her. Thus begins a series of adventures that Shiki and Arclueid will go through to rid the world of vampires and demons. The manga predecessor to the hit game, Melty Blood. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. While Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia's brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked knight Zero to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia once and for all. Patlabor- In the future, advanced robotics has created heavy robots ("labors") for use in a variety of functions: construction, fire-fighting, military, and more. However, though the robots are only machines, their operators are also only human - and humans sometimes turn to crime. Since a heavy labor unit can be a dangerous weapon, the police of the future are set to fight fire with fire, using advanced patrol labor units, "patlabors". This is the story of the Second Special Vehicles Division, a motley crew of patlabor policemen and -women doing their best to fight crime and live a normal life Pilot Candidate- In the future humankind has expanded and colonized other planets. He soon meets Kurofune and learns of the power of the Meros and the I-bar machines they ride in battle. Warriors are the only ones who can see and hear the Melody of Oblivion, a phantom girl hidden away waiting to be rescued and be the savior of mankind. During a battle between Kurofune and a demon, Bokka discovers something only his wildest dreams could possibly imagine...he too can hear that melody. Throughout his journeys, Bokka meets many monsters and their agents, friends, and companions as he discovers the true extent of his new powers. He must continue to battle evil in the hope of releasing Boukyaku no Senritsu and free a world that has forgotten its once beautiful melody. *kinda horrorish too* Gad Guard- Several hundred years in the future, the resources of the Earth runs out, and the progression of the human race has stagnated. The world is now divided into "Units". A boy named Hajiki Sanada lives with his mother and sister in Unit 74, in a place called "Night Town", in which all electricity is shut down at midnight. The key in this story is an object called the GAD. GADs have the ability to reconstruct materials while reacting to feelings of an organic life. The size and shape of the resulting product seem to be different depending on the kinds of feelings that the life possesses. When Hajiki comes in contact with one by accident, it transforms into a huge robot--a Tekkoudo, or "Iron Giant"--which Hajiki names Lightning. And soon he realizes that he isn't the only one with a Tekkoudo, and must find out how to deal with those others who he feels are the "same" as himself. Gunparade March - Arata Naru Ko Gunka - 50 years ago, a mysterious enemy "Genjuu" appeared in the skies. The danger of Mankind's extinction drew near as the Genjuu attacked humans and battles raged against it. Macross 7- 35 years have passed since Lynn Minmay had brought peace between the Zentradi and the humans in the events of Macross. Nekki Basara is a guitarist and a singer of the band Fire Bomber. Living in a less-developed part of the flying colony City 7 which is looking for a habitable planet, he composes and sings songs in the belief that music holds a greater power. During its flight, an unknown alien race appeared and started laying siege upon City 7. During these battles, Basara always goes out into the middle of the warzone, singing his songs and expecting friend and foe to listen and be moved by his music. Jinki: Extend- Aoba is a young girl who loves to build models of robots. She lived alone with her grandmother until her grandmother passes away. Shortly after she is kidnapped and brought to a secret base where she discovers a huge robot. The piloted robots fight against Ancient-Jinki in The Grand Savanna, but the true meaning behind the fights is hidden. Aoba works hard at the base so one day she can pilot one of the robots and discover these secrets. Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora- Kuu Shiratori often fantasizes and dreams of her "prince", and longs to meet him as her ordinary school life in the school-city of Academia proceeds. One day, a young man, Kyoshiro Ayanokoji, transfers to her class, and strangely enough, bears a striking resemblence to the prince of her dreams. Kuu is elated, but soon after things start to not go her way, as she soon finds out that Kyoshiro is different from how she imagined him to be. However, after Kyoshiro saves her after she gets caught in the middle of a fight involving mechanical creatures and magic she has never witnessed before, she begins to appreciate him once again, and thus, a beautiful relationship between two young people commences. He is aided by a team of transforming robots and by a young boy named Mamoru, who has the power to purify the Zonders' cores, and seems to be connected to the mysterious Galeon. B'tX - Teppei is going to visit his older brother Kotaro Takamiya during a scientific conference after training with a mysterious woman named Karen for the past 11 years. However his plans for a family reunion become stalled when a woman named Aramis kills everyone in the conference to kidnap Kotaro. Teppei on the way to save his brother encounters a broken mechanical horse called B't X who revives thanks to Teppei's blood and is now his aide to save his brother from the mysterious Machine Empire. Soukou no Strain - Sara Werec comes from a respected military family and when her brother Ralph leaves for the frontlines of an interstellar war she makes a promise to follow in his footsteps and join him one day. However the next time she sees her brother he has become a traitor and is leading an enemy attack on her training base. Defeated and disgraced, Sara loses her status in an elite military unit and now must start over as a common pilot and work her way back up so she can once again confront her brother. Tokito Aizawa is part of a group of hunters who destroys Gardeners and sells the scraps. Although, after encountering a girl named Tea, who calls him 'Koichi', and her machine, Silver, his life becomes more complicated. The chase leads them to a floating castle that once belonged to an ancient race of people. Kiki's Delivery Service- When an apprentice witch turns thirteen, she must leave her home in order to hone her craft. Although Kiki's sole talent is broom-flying, she sets out for adventure with her cat Jiji. They settle in a charming seaside town, where Kiki establishes her own delivery service. As Kiki learns to balance independence with responsibility, her kind heart wins her many new friends in this coming-of-age tale. Princess Mononoke- While fighting to save his village from the attack of a demon-god Ashitaka comes in contact with it and is inflicted with a deadly curse. In his search for a cure he is forced to leave his village forever and journey to the forest inhabited by animal gods. There he finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and a village led by lady Eboshi. Howl's Moving Castle- A plain young hatter named Sophie has her life changed when an evil witch transforms her into an old woman. Unable to face her family in such a condition, Sophie runs away in search of a way to become young again. Along the way, Sophie helps a turnip headed scarecrow, who repays her by leading her to the moving castle owned by the dreaded wizard Howl. There she befriends Howl's apprentice Markl, Howl's fire demon Calcifer, and eventually, Howl himself. Sophie then becomes the castle's cleaning lady in an effort to not only find the solution to her problem but to save Howl from his own terrible secrets as well. Steamboy- Rei is a young inventor living in the U.K. in the middle of the 19th century. Shortly before the first ever World Expo, a marvelous invention called the "Steam Ball", behind which a menacing power is hidden, arrives at his door from his grandfather Roid in the U.S. Meanwhile the nefarious Ohara Foundation has sent men to acquire theSteam Ball so that they can use its power towards their own illicit ends. Metropolis- Metropolis is a story of how important emotions are and how they separate humans from everything else. The movie follows a young boy and his uncle (a private investigator). The story is set in the far future where humans and robots live together, unfortunately not in harmony. Many robots are forced underground and are terminated for entering unauthorized areas. They are more or less servants to humankind. The plot starts to unfold when the boy meets a robot named Tima and they get in all kinds of trouble. Never a dull moment when you've got a robot by your side. However, she soon realises that changing the past isn't as simple as it seems, and eventually, will have to rely on her new powers to shape the future of her and her friends. Demi was quite content to let her mother sweep her into a cuddle, but her ears continued to swivel, following the going-ons in the cave. Again she peeked one eye open ever so slightly to match Inanna to the noise she was making, then let out another soft grumble followed by a mewling little sigh. She pushed her chest off the floor and opened both eyes a sliver, peering over her mother's foreleg at her sisters. Their antics were hard to ignore, and apparently vision was the more helpful sense in this case.

However, that was as far as Demi went. She observed her siblings and made no move to partake in their business. Finally, she settled herself back down and closed her eyes again. That was enough of that.
