The coastal nation of Alanis has been battered badly by a seven year war with the empire of Sylfaria. After five years they have rebuilt and have come to be one of the strongest nations in the entire continent of Farelsa; Their secret, an elite group of fighters known as the High Guard of Alanis. More commonly referred to as the Cross Guard.
Almost all of these fighters have the power of Arcana; the ability to manipulate certain elemental energies. Arcana is an ability that all in the world possess but few are able to unlock the full potential of their powers.
This RP is based in the universe of a story that I'm writing, . Possible positions for now only include Cross Guard trainees/officers (Officers only with approval by me) and normal people. If enough people join then I might consider adding a villians position but until then I'll run that. Even if you choose a normal person you still will have to choose an element for that person because I may decide that person is going to go through an event that will awaken their Arcana. Arcana will always be inactive by default unless I say that it isn't. Cross Guard members will use the 'Weapon of Choice' category, all others will leave it blank.
Squad will be filled in later by myself.
For the Arcana the following elements may be selected
Fire: Manipulators of heat and fire. People who wield this Arcana have an immunity to heat in any environment as well as the ability to manifest fire from their body. They have a secondary ability to create illusions by using heat to bend light to cause people to see things that aren't there. They have synergies with Earth and Wind, their "enemy" element is Water. This is the most common Arcana. People with this Arcana are usually drawn to fighting styles focusing on semi-swift but strong strikes.
Wind: People with this Arcana are highly sought after because not many people are born with it. They are often recessively found in people with Lightning or Wood Arcana, never in the pure Wind form. They are characterized by greatly increased speed and the ability to manipulate the air and the pressure of the air.
Water: People with this Arcana can manipulate water in all its forms. They are also unique in that they have the ability to breathe underwater by using their Arcana to strip oxygen from the water to absorb it.
Earth: Wielders of this Arcana sport greatly enhanced strength and the ability to create shockwaves in the very ground that people stand on as well as moving the earth.
Lightning: This is one of the Wind-hybrid Arcanas. Formed by a bond with Fire this Arcana sports the ability to control the electrical charge in the environment as well as the ability to teleport at short range (Flash step sort of)
Wood: The second of the Wind-hybrid Arcanas. People with this ability can manipulate plants as well as use healing energies.
Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning and Wood are all fairly common. Wind is the rarest with the so-called "Wind-hybrid" Arcana's being a bit more common, with Water, Earth then Fire being more common in that order.
As a side note if anyone wants Wind Arcana they must let me know because I have to work them into the story a little differently because of the rarity of such powers.
Arcana is hereditary, people get it from their parents. It is usually based on the mother unless the mother happens to have Wind in which case it depends on the father. (Wind and Earth or Wind and Wind are the only conditions under which a child with Wind Arcana can be born.)

History: His father died in the war with Sylfaria when he was four. Since then he has been found to have the power of wind; Prompting the head of the Cross Guard himself to come to officially extend an offer to him to join.
Personality: Kind and honorable, his family lived in Aegir and were good friends with the Rochette family. He often would visit the Coyote bar where his mother worked to sit there and visit with her and the owner.

Appearance: Light brown hair, green eyes. He has one section of hair dyed red. He's a little scrawny and rather skilled at martial arts.

History: Cain's mother died when she was three and since then she was locked in the basement of her house by her over protective father. She escaped and was found by Lexi who allowed to be a singer in her bar.

Character Name: Inouye "Inu" Shimada

History: Inu was one out of two in his family considering that he had a twin, until the war came and they were separated in all the fighting. He was forced to live alone being that his mother and father died.
Personality: Having that ridiculous first name of his, Inouye decided to call himself "Inu". He more or less has the 'theres life......imma take it and run' attitude when it comes to most things. There are times tho were he can be the cruelest person you've ever seen letting life slap you in the face. He always carries a smile on his face tho considering. He appears to be happy-go-lucky and good-natured, and acts very carefree. But when pressed about this nature, sensing that they know it is just a false persona to hide that he is emotionally distant, Inu usually gives very dark and enigmatic answers if asked about it.

History: Coming from a poor family of five Lys Alana is the oldest of the three children his parents had. His two brothers and parents stricken by illness at the age of fifteen, Lys Alana grew up in the woods hunting for food and learning the lay of the land. Ever since he has not had much interaction with people, since he always enjoyed being alone walking in the woods or hunting his meals rather than be around the other kids. Still labeled as an outcast by much of society, Lys Alana seeks not only to make new friends, but to hopefully find a cure for the fatal illness that took the lives of his entire family.
Personality: Calm and collected even in the face of danger. Lys Alana is a hunter by trade, scouting the land and hunting his food instead of wasting his time and money on processed products. Typically found in the woods he is rarely seen in the larger towns, preferring the woods and forests to the hustle and bustle of big city life.
