Girlfriend? Great, were the rumors all the way at the academy too? Now what should he do. He wanted to say 'don't have one' but if he did, that might get Leila caught in her lie and in trouble. But he didn't want to admit the rumors were true. That would be lying too. He really didn't know what to do so he decided to act like he didn't hear that part. "I guess you can say I don't have time to be tired of work. I stay pretty busy."

I feel bad for your girl, you must not pay her enough attention. They arrived at the counter and Melody ordered a strawberry cone. Your turn. She took her ice cream and steped to the side so Alxe could address the man behind the counter.

He about had all he could about the girl business. No matter where he went now, someone asked him about her. He let out a sigh. "Maybe if there was one." He looked up at the man as he saluted Alex. He returned the salute and laid a card down on the counter. "Just water please. And her cone." The man nodded and took the card. After a moment, he returned with a bottle of water and handed the card back. "Thank you, always a pleasure serving a Master Runist." Alex just nodded and turned to Melody. "Wanna sit down?"

Hey, come back here with that! But the man either didn't hear her, or ignored her. After Alex got his water and card back she frowned at him. This was suppose to be my treat.

"Sorry, force of habit." He gave a slight smile before walking away from the counter. "Maybe next time." He walked over to an empty table and sat down. A few people watched him as he did. This was probably the first time he ever stayed in the cafeteria.

"From my understanding, very soon. I doubt I will be on this station for more then a couple days." He took a sip of his water and looked around. "Funny, I've been with the Runists for so long, yet I think this is the longest I've been in here."

"I never said anything like that... It's just... I'm always on a mission and never have time to just sit here." He was beginning to worry that this girl just might be able to figure out his secret. No, it was impossible. When he was young, she never... Now he was just getting paranoid. There was no way anyone knew. It would ruin their plans.

She shrugs. Maybe he wasn't shy anymore? Who knew. Rumors said he had a girlfriend, but he said he didn't. Hm. Did they break up? If they did it was probably because he didn't pay enough attention to her.

"It wasn't anything big. Malisa was facing a planet wide drought so the council decided to send a Runist to help. Just a couple Water runes here and there and they were fine." He took a drink of his water. That wasn't his latest mission, but that was top secret. He was under strict orders against any knowledge of that mission going public.

That doesn't sound so bad. But a planet wide drought? That's rough. Is the drought over now? Mmm... ice cream. The cold was starting to soak into her hands, so she switched and continued working away at her treat.

"Yeah, their oceans have returned. Most of the lakes are good. And since they are able to have rain again, everything else will fix itself." He paused for a moment. The thought that the academy never taught that Runists can do that big of a job never crossed him mind. They don't teach the full power of runes there so that those who don't just the Federation Runists aren't powerful enough to cause major problems. Actually, something as big as he did, only a very few here could do. "It's a good thing the council chose to act when the did. A couple more weeks and they might have been in major trouble."

She nods. They have ravished their planet though, taking fore than full advantage of their natural resources, so I feel like the planet was getting revenge. She paused for a minute, before continuing more softly Go planet. Her voice goes back to normal volume. Since your getting a promotion does that mean you get some time off to celebrate? I should totally take you out for drinks.

"Actually, no. After this promotion, I'm told that I am going to be sent out on another mission. I don't know what it is yet though." But he was pretty sure it was going to be a big one. They never promote someone just so they can go on a mission. This was going to be very big.
