A large open space situated in the very center of the division's grounds. The space has luscious green grasses, small shady trees and even a small koi pond. The space is mostly used for relaxation and out door meetings.

It was a moist, cool, sunny morning. Chirping birds could be heard off in the distance, but far enough away to not disturb the stillness of the courtyard. Shihei was sitting on the edge of the deck that wrapped around the inside the of the division building, circling around the courtyard and garden. He poured himself a cup of tea while watching a bird fly off in the distance, letting out a relaxed sigh. "Such a nice morning. One would be hard pressed to realize anything was wrong." The captain sat out there often, preferring the outdoors to his office. He never carried much for the stuffiness of the indoors. As the division of communications, the mornings were always slow, so he had very little to worry about... for now.

Yukio was walking, his monkey not with him cause it was sleeping in his room. He didn't know he was headed for his captain but he was. "UGH!!!! i can't believe her! why the hell do i even bother to visit her. First she tackles me to the ground and shoves candy in my mouth like i'm a little kid. Then she starts to make fun of my for leaving that stupid squad and joining this one. Ugh i can't believe her!" he said ranting to himself not knowing that anyone else was around.

"She's you're mother, Yukio-kun..." Shihei had easily heard Yukio's rant. He stood up to greet his vice-captain. "... it is her place to be hard on you, but please try to not get angry. That is just the way she is." The captain gave the other a kind smile and offered him a cup of tea, which he seemingly pulled out of nowhere. "Instead of dreading the past, try to enjoy the present. It is a beautiful morning."

"the way she is? she's like a crack head from the world of the living only she isn't on the drug" then he shook his head "Uh sorry captain didn't realize it was you. Good morning" He said as he took the tea his captain pulled out of no where. and took a drink. "I know your right, but she just drives me crazy. She's my mother and she still is like a little kid, and a little kid that should be in a padded room at that." he said with a sigh.

"Have you tried talking with her? Maybe if you told her what it is that bothers you, she'll change." Shihei had heard the rant on more than one occasion, so he already knew what Yukio's answer was going to be, but that still didn't stop him from saying it. He leaned back against the railing and pulled out a paddle with a ball on a string and started to whack it repeatedly, making a distinct 'thunk' noise with every strike. "Or... you could possibly just stop visiting her for a while." That wasn't an option he would endorse, but it was still there for Yukio to consider.

"You know that i tried to talk to her, she just made fun of me and said "stop being a sissy Kenpatchi dosen't have feelings like that try to be more like him be a man Yukio"" he said mocking her with a random sock puppet that he pulled out of no where. then he threw the puppet. "and i can't just not go see her, she is my mom after all, and knowing her she might just hunt me down if i did that" he said with a sigh and sip of tea. "I should go see Kenpatchi more, he might always attack me but at lest he doesn't make fun of me...much...sometimes...kinda"

Shihei let out a light sigh as he tilted his head ever so slightly to one side. "Yukio, do you whatever you think is right. Just remember, I will always be here to hear you complain about it afterwords~" The captain reached out and gave the pink haired one a pat on the should before turning back towards the courtyard. "Just make sure Kenpachi doesn't kill you. It'd be troublesome to find your replacement, at least one who is just as beneficial to the division as you are."

"heh i don't know about that captain i'm not really good for much. I can fight but that's about it." he looked where his captain was. "Ya know you might be calm as hell...but something about you scares me more then my mom or kenpatchi do some times captain." he looked out and took another sip of his tea. "Captain, be honest why did you pick me to be your vice captain?"

"Does something about me unsettle you?" He replied with a slight chuckle while rubbing the side of his neck. Shihei turned to face Yukio, once again leaning back against the rail. "I had picked you because you can fight. No one would expect that from our division, now would they? They'd have no reason to expect anything from us in the terms of fighting ability. Keep that in mind next time you're confronted by someone who knows where you're from. Chances are, they will underestimate you." The captain paused for a moment as he looked up towards the sky, pondering for a second before continuing. "Besides all of that, I find your hair amusing and lively."

Yukio couldn't help but laugh and rather hard at that. after a minute of laughing he caught his breath. "my hair huh? well i guess it has to be good for something, sure isn't good for picking up a date." he laughed "on a girl like my mom it's cute, on a guy like me not so much." he looked up then back down "guess that's no worse then why i got my shikai, i wasn't going to cause i wanted to be lazy, but i love my zanpakuto name so much that i decided to try it"

"Hehe, yes, your hair Yukio. It isn't often that I see someone with hair as bright and... pink as yours. Then again, I don't believe I've seen anyone else besides your mother with that hair color." Shihei listened to his vice captain finish up what he was saying before continuing on. "I am sure you just have to wait to find the right woman. Just because they're all not crawling over you doesn't mean that you won't find anyone. Just don't be lazy like you were going to be with your shikai."

Yukio laughed a little "Ya know if you like pink hair so much we could always just die your pink, or even bright green, or rainbow, or something like that." he laughed really hard as he though of his captain with rainbow hair. "captain please for the love of god die your hair rainbow" he said still laughing

"Oh I think I will keep my hair the way it is, but thanks for your suggestion. I said you're hair was amusing and lively, not something I'd want to live with." Shihei gave Yukio a big smile before walking across the deck, towards a flight of stairs that led down to the grassy yard below.

Yukio laughed and fallowed his captain "Oh come on captain don't ya want to be lively and fun like me? it's a real blast sometimes i swear." he had a hard time keeping a straight face. "not to mention you would always win in a fight, no one would be able to win when fighting a captain with rainbow hair, they would be laughing so hard they wouldn't be able to even hold there sword."
