The world can be a big, scary place. Especially when you're alone in it. The terrain varies from place to place. Many forests that differ depending upon the climate. Thick or with many meadows. Wet or with just enough rain and water to keep everything alive. Flat plains. Hills and mountains. Deep caves. Forest glens. Dry desserts. Orchards. Fields. The people live in Clans. People of a Clan stick together. They work together to survive. Each member contributes to the survival of the Clan in some way. Hunting. Gathering. Some have weavers and herders. It is said that some Clans even have members who can take the form of the animal that is the guardian spirit of the Clan. Some do not believe in such things but others know the truth of such tales.
The White Wolves are a small segment of the Wolf Clan. The man who leads them can shift his form to that of a white wolf. Strongest of the leaders, he is the head of the Clan. Very few are the humans they seem to be. They are something.... More.

Female Characters Gaia name: Eviemar Lionheart Character name: Freya Age: Looks 22 Race: Werewolf Clan: Wolf Clan Appearance: Human WolfBio/History: Freya was 22 when it happened. The handsome young suitor who had been wooing her changed one night and attacked her. She nearly died. Nearly. It has been a long time since that night and the man who changed her is now dead. She doesn't talk about her past to many people, letting only a handful close. Despite being female, Freya is very dominant. Were she a male, she would surely be an alpha. She has wandered lost and alone for three years now. The Wolf Clan has had no sign or word of her and so thinks her dead.

Cold. It is cold here in the mountains. She holds the furs wrapped tightly around herself. A thick hood covers her head, made even thicker by the fur upon it. The calf high boots upon her feet are three hides thick with fur lining the insides. Anyone seeing her will think her a man. Even her scent is masked. Besides, only a man would be able to survive as a Loner. Her heart aches at that. She can remember not being a Loner. She had been part of a Clan. Distant memories is all they are now. Distant and painful. All she had is now lost to her. Nothing is left. It is windy and snowing now. She is cold despite the furs. It is her own fault. Not eating properly. She's lost too much weight. Entirely too much. Silvery eyes narrow in the deep shadows of her hood to see through the wind and snow. A small town lies in the valley not far below her. People.

He ran, nose to the ground tracking. Sniffing endlessly trying to find even the faintest scent of her. His lungs burned as he ran screaming for air, his muscles ached beyond the point of exhaustion, but still he ran on. His stomach growled loudly begging for food it had been far too long since he had eaten last but still he pushed on. It had been years since he had last spoken to another person, it had been just as long since he had walked upon two legs, he had nearly forgotten the sensation. He knew that if he continued along this way he would most likely die, but if he found her it would be worth it in the end. He looked up spotting a town along the ridge he ran flat out towards it hoping to find at least a scrap of food. He was about two hundred yards from the town when his body gave out. He laid there snow covering his body, he let out one last long low howl before the blackness swallowed him.

A howl catches her attention, drawing her gaze to its source. Making her way through the snow is harder than it should be. Much harder. She comes upon a white wolf. Werewolf. She kneels down, running a gloved hand over the white fur. Wolves are pack creatures so the instinct to help him is too strong to ignore. She struggles, but manages to lift him and stand. She walks into the small village. No one is out in the bad weather. Winter has begun and is hitting hard. Leaving him hidden outside, she goes into the small inn and gets a room. Going to her room, she goes out the window to return through it with the wolf. She sets him down in front of a good sized fire before collapsing next to him in a sitting position. She smirks, hidden within her hood. She knows that she no longer smells female. She smells of pine, oak, caves, and the wild. She has almost no energy left now though, not even to go to small tray of food on a small table against the wall next to the door.

He felt his body move, but try as he might couldn't even crack open an eye. He noted the change in temperature and tried to find out what was going on and who had moved him. He scented people, as well as a fire, nearby he felt a small form sitting next to him. He whined as his body spasmed trying to force himself to open his eyes if not sit up. Slowly a golden iris cracked into view as he tilted his head and looked at the person next to him. He growled with as much authority and threat as he could muster in his current condition, he knew deep down that if this person meant him harm he was far too weak to do anything about it.

She makes no sound in response to his growl. She will not give herself away so easily. Bracing herself for the pain of overused muscles, she stands and gets the tray. Sitting beside the wolf again, she sets the tray of food on the floor. Her stomach churns threateningly at the thought of eating. She pushes the food towards the werewolf beside her. He looks thin. Funny that she should think so.

His eyes follow her, something in the way she moves seems familiar to him, and yet completely foreign to him. He eyes the food and sniffs it cautiously before taking a bit into him mouth letting it simply slide down his throat as he lacked the strength to chew properly. He wondered if the person knew what he was or if she simply thought he was just a regular wolf. He thought of maybe changing back to his human form, but realized that not only did he lack the strength, it had been so long he wondered if he would even remember how to be human.

She lowers herself to a laying position, careful that her movements don't give her away as being a woman. On her stomach, she crosses her arms before letting her head fall down upon them. Now all she can see is the floor. An attack wouldn't surprise her, but he seems weakened too. Food will help him regain his strength. It would her as well if she could stomach it. A small self-loathing smile touches her lips. If she could stomach it indeed. She is no fool and no pup. She knows very well the extent of her weakness. If she closes her eyes, they very well might never open again.

He can smell the weakness on her and shakes his head. He digs deep and musters up the strength to slide the plate of food over so it bumps against her arms. He stares at her through half open eyes as if trying to give her a silent command to eat. There is only a fraction of his former dominance and authority in the stare and it doesn't last long before his had falls down onto his forepaws his eyes closing further until just the tiniest bit of amber can be seen in them.

Her stomach churns again. It's obvious that he's trying to tell her to eat. He might even be able to when he is stronger. Right now, however, her dominance wins out. It and her stubbornness are what have kept her alive this long. She knows she shouldn't sleep. If the food helps him and he wakes before she does, she will be found out. It is a chance she'll just have to take though. Not even bothering to move, she slowly drifts off to sleep right there on the floor.

He tries in vein to stay awake. His amber eyes close once more, as he sleeps. While he sleeps his body slowly begins to mend it's self. He wakes some time later, he has only strength enough to crawl the few feet to her and gently nuzzle her cheek, before falling back to sleep.

The nightmares start almost instantly. Some are just flashes of the past. Others are far more horrific. Trying to stare down the enormous wolf only to have it attack her. Nearly dieing. The stomach cramping hunger on that first full moon. A man acting as a suitor only to try to take her by force. Waking up with his blood coating her and the taste of him still in her mouth. Meeting her mate.Being hunted. Being unable to help as her mate was killed. As she watched. Her pale eyes snap open. She is still laying on the floor by the fire. On her stomach and with her face turned to the floor upon her arms. Screams and howls still ring in her ears. It is morning now. She has survived through another night.

He feels her tremble in her sleep but there is nothing he can do to comfort her. He is looking at her softly when she wakes, having not been able to sleep much himself, but unable to find the strength to stand. He cocked his head to the side curiously as she slowly stirred to life.
