Chezhire3Kat I'm by Portland, Oregon. xD Wasn't certain if there's a group for that yet. Currently we're heavily focused on starting up the cali group. However in the future if things really take off we'd be more then happy to set up other groups in other state's for people to organize and take advantage of. If you'd like to get started on doing that, I'm not sure how many members from Oregon we have, but you can make a topic in the convention forum pertaining to Oregon conventions. That at least could give you an idea on how many people you have to work with as far as forming a group with goes. If no one replies, you're always more then welcome to invite cosplayers from oregon you see around the cosplay forums.
In tl;dr form: We don't have a group there yet, but pika allows members to form groups of their own in the guild, if the offered groups don't fit with their location.
We'll even give the groups a sub forum to post in as a seperate team if enough people request it.

I know some of the bus routes. The ones that I usually take 2 go downtown are the 18 or 720 (leaves me near the hotel where I stay during Ax) but, now there is the Gold Line (train thing) so that takes me 2 little Tokyo or I can just take that 2 the metro station and take the other line (dont remember the color) and it would leave me right in front of the convention center.

So for these group meet ups...say one of us may not be able to drive there. Do you change spots or rotate meeting places? And when we head off to conventions, do we all rent hotel rooms near the convention centers and drive over together?
And I've seen some pretty hardcore groups that plan workouts together to keep in shape and make sure they look smokin' hot when they cosplay. Would you consider maybe doing that?

Each team meetup is ran by the individual officer, but the general idea is the first couple of meeting will probably be in a chill public area so people get familiar with each other. Eventually then based on the most convenient location, the individual teams will vote where they would like to meet up. Be it at certain members houses, or a certain coffee shop. Which means rotation may very much so be possible and could even be an idea you can purpose as a certainty.
Personally that's what I envision as the most enjoyable method of going to a con. So for when the whole group meets up for the con I probably will purpose the idea. However there may be members who can't afford to split money for a hotel, so most likely we'll have two options set up. One, members can pay their half to do just as you said, get a hotel and drive together to the convention. Or two some ch1nk lives just near AX and there most likely will be members near SDCC and other conventions. I can't speak on their behalf but at least for AX members can either go to the hotel or choose to stay over at mike and my house for an easy drive. Though there would be a limit on how many people.
As for the work out idea, that sounds like an awesome idea! I'm a couch potato, but with proper motivation I can be a work out junkie. That might just be the proper motivation. I'll suggest this idea to the officers, it can be put down as an additional event that's not required but offered to members if they approve.
