I think the movie was great.. better think logically... where can you find someone who stays at the age of 16?? Or someone who looks like the actor of the movie?? Unless he has a twin... I think it's find but i agree on the last person posted here, Gavner does looks like a french dude... some say he looks like Vincent Price (whoever that is...)

They got Mr. Tiny dead on [ I wanted to stb him in his tripple chins the whole movie] I didn't care for John c Riely [Crepsley] in the begining with the dancing and goofy behavior but he pulled it together after :]
I didn't really care for the whole Tsukra being this crazy future see'er also dating Crepsley? Though I did rofl when he started carressing her "You say no but your beard says yes"
Giving away Steve as the vampanese lord right off was disappointing but all and all I give the movie a B/B-

I wasn't really in-love in the movie..... They got it all wrong, and doesn't Darren have BLACK HAIR?! And, why in the world would they replace Debbie with a new character...and also, Isn't Cormac Limbs a guy? Well, that's my opinion.

Yeah, I'm a complete noob. XD
I personally love the movie. Or should I say I have an appreciation for it. Why? Because I saw it before I read the books.
I saw it not knowing about the whole Shanster world I was about to become a part of and thought it was great. XDD I mean the characters were amazing and the whole idea was so orginal.
Then I read the books. XD
However I still like the movie. Sure I don't agree with some of the things they did, but I like it none the less.

I too watched the movie before reading the book and I thought it was awsome. I loved Crepsley, Steve and Evra. The whole movie was amaizing. I just started reading the book (im on chapter 5 of the first book. The ONLY reason why I havn't finished the book already [considering it is an easy read] is because I don't actually own the book. The librarys don't have the first book so I am forced to go to indigo every day to read for 5-15 minutes to read the book before I go home.... gonk ) and I already noticed some differences between the book in the movie, like how Darren and Steve actually come across the flier for Cirque du Freak. I am sure that I will find a lot more differences in the movies then in the books but I don't think my opinion about the book will change. Don't start arguing with me about how the books are better, because we all know that books hold a lot more information then movies do. Most movies that are based on a book normally don't contain half the information in the book. The writer/director chooses the key points in the book and uses them in the film. A book just has way too much information. If the whole book was made into a movie with every waking detail then movies would be 3-5 hours long, maybe even longer, which is way too long. Keep that in mind when you critisize movies about how different and how little information the movie had compared to the book. Not everything can be perfect. Another note: If you liked the movie, that is your opinion. If you didn't, then that too is your opinion. I can't change what you think of the movie, but to the ones who dislike the film, at least you got a laugh out of it. biggrin ~ skywalkerlover

I mean a lot of people were upset because A LOT of things were rushed and they skipped over books 2 and 3 completely. I mean as it is you don't find out that Steve is a vampaneze until book 8 and its already revealed in the movie. But theres one thing people have to realize. This movie was made as a single movie. Just by watching it you can tell they left it open for a 2nd one but they tried making it work as a single movie as well just in case they weren't able to make another one. (which they probably won't) People have to understand that the director had to change a lot of things to make a successful, single, stand-alone movie. In order to have a real climax and a real ending that was really going to impact people, they needed to bring stuff from other books in. People have to realize they didn't make the movie just for the fans, they made it for a new audience, to bring more people into the Shanster world. (And in my opinion they were very successful in that aspect.) And if people even noticed, they DID add things in just for the fans that only the fans understood. SPOILERS Like for instance when Mr. Tiny said something along the lines of. "Nobody has the parental instinct like I do." PFT. Right? XD And just the whole entire opening to the movie. Darren and Steve on puppet strings, awesome! END SPOILERS Theres more to a movie than making sure its true to the book.

I am glad I'm not the only one that sees the light and not the darkness (couldn't think of a better saying.... xd ). If people don't open their eyes to the truth of the matter then they will forever be blinded. Everything you said (which is way better worded then I could have put it) is completly acurate and I'm glad we have the same understanding of things ('cause thats just cool within itself). I wish people would think about this more offten, then maybe we could have had a sequel of the movie (I am itching to send the writer/director a letter saying a bunch of people want a sequel and have people sign a "petition" type of thing and send it to him/them.) xd Random note that I thought of: If people dislike reading (like I do) at least the movie explains the idea of the books..... whee I still, with no dought, am going to root for a sequel....because if they don't do one then I will make sure I do one when I am old enough to direct a feature lenght film. blaugh

But yeah, I root for a sequel also, I'm curious to see how they go about it and who they will cast as the rest of the characters. If they DO make another movie however, there is one thing I'm concerned about. SPOILERS In the 1st movie, they already had started the war with the vampaneze, this means there is no point for Kurda in the next movie. The whole betrayal was the main point of the next three books they would base the movie on. I mean they COULD do it as a part of the war instead of the thing that started it, but still. END SPOILERS Besides that, I would enjoy seeing it. Although it would be VERY awkward with the whole Crepsley and Arra thing considering that Crepsley is with Truska in the 1st movie.

JK! I read nearly all spoilers....can't help it....plus for some odd reason I know about that guy....well about that plot anyways.....but I don't remember where I got it from.....anywho....I can see how you are wondering how the movie would play out. I bet they would add something made up in there, like how they added monkey girl in the movie, who is way better then Debbie in my not-having-read-the-book idea. gonk I think it would be very awkward but then one of the scenes where Truska is fighting with Crepsley would happen and then I would laugh my butt off! "You mouth says no, but your beard says yes!" ~Crepsley Sorry, I had to add this into my post.... blaugh I love that line! I bet something even more funny would happen if two women were pissed at him..... heart
