Biohazard

Ten years after the events of The Last Stand, The New Dawn's stock plummeted with evidence of the viral outbreak in New York City. The government had no choice but to nuke the city, wiping it off permanently from the map. It is known that Caulder, the leader of New Dawn, was also killed in the missle attack. Soon, their hospital wing in Washington was shut down, and the government ordered a permanant suspension of all activities from New Dawn.

In essence, New Dawn was finished.

However, there are some extremists who still believe that the New Dawn is doing the right thing. Rumors here and there say that they continue to reserch their horrible virus', and still test them on humans. Somehow, small scale zombie outbreaks still occur in other remote areas of the United States. To the horror of world leaders, outbreaks are now being recorded in Europe, Africa, and Australia.

New Dawn... was still alive.

The Government had long ago established a branch of the Central Intellegance Agency called the Biohazard Containment Unit, or BCU. These people are made of powerful minds who investigate these outbreaks. However, it is still to be announced offically that New Dawn was still operational.

One such member of the BCU, Gwen, knows all too well about zombies. Having been trapped in New York, the site of the largest scale outbreak ever recorded, she lost her partner and brother, Billy, to the hands of the leader of New Dawn, Caulder. But now, with Caulder gone, only fragments of New Dawn remain. Because of her incredible intellegence and experience, she quickly rose in the ranks and became captain of the 5th Unit.

Only one other person in the whole world understand zombie characteristics more than Gwen, and his name is Derek Alstrom. Having been a zombie himself, Derek now devotes his life to finding New Dawn fragments and wiping them off the map forever.

But Derek's heart longs to be with his brother again. Jack Alstrom, the man who had single handedly exposed New Dawn for what they really were, the one who was able to shut down the entire facility, had gone missing after delivering the sample of the Angel Virus and Genocide Virus to the government.

This is the story of all three people, and the ones who helped them shut down New Dawn forever.

Character list:

Biohazard Containment Unit(BCU)

Alright! I've had my morning cup of coffe, and read the newspaper, now it's time for the ritual zombie slaying! Oh wait... it's not Tuesday is it...?

Name: Derek Alstrom
Age: 28
Weapons: Custom TMP
Allegiance: BCU
Bio: Derek understands more about zombies than anyone else in the world. Why? Because he experienced firsthand exactly what a zombie is. Derek was the first person to ever show symptoms of the G-virus, and he was the first zombie. Having been cured by Jack, his brother, he now commits his second life to destroying the last fragments of New Dawn.
Appearence: Derek Alstrom
Personality: Laid back, causal, and almost never serious. Derek never misses an oppertunity to make a joke. He is terrible with the ladies, and acknowledges it on a regular basis. He seems to be messing around with Gwen more than anything...

There are lives at stake! I don't have time to waste on useless things like personal satisfaction!
Name: Gwen Taylor
Age: 32
Weapons: Twin handguns
Allegiance: BCU
Bio: Gwen was also part of the outbreak in New York City ten years ago. She and her brother, Billy, had acted undercover for Caulder to try and obtain information on New Dawn. Their mission compromised, Billy gave the group a chance to run away by sacrificing himself. Gwen was gifted with a superor mind, and she quickly rose in the ranks of the BCU. She is now the leader of the 5th unit, and does everything she can to wipe out New Dawn.
Appearence: Gwen Taylor
Personality: She is always serious. In the ten years that she had spent after leaving New York, she had never once smiled. But her intellegence more than makes up for her lack of social skills.

Name: Shea Auburn
Age: 19 (almost 20)
Weapons: switchblade hidden in her boot, Hand Rifle, Magnum pistol
Alligence: BCU
Bio: Its been ten years since Jack left...
In the past, Jack rescued Shea from the outbreak of zombies. He took her in and from then on, Jack was her new family. She had no one. Back then she barely understood what was going on but eventually she made a choice to be strong...for her and Jack. One day, Jack gave Shea a superman doll which helped Shea's fears. She loved him with all her heart. Then suddenly, he left her. He promised to come back, and with that hope Shea has been searching. Now a member of the BCU, Shea hopes to find the one person who changed her life forever. She promised herself to help with the zombie outbreak and rescue as many people as she can. She has never forgotten...
Appearence: Shea
Personality: Shea is not the little girl she used to be. Shea has a dark side and will not get pushed around by anyone. What Shea learned from Jack was, to watch your back. She is very Cautious and stubborn but also very kind and joking. She is serious when she needs to be and much stronger emotionally and physically.
Other:

Name: Rosalind, "Rose" Caldwell
Age: 32
Weapons: sniper rifle and a silenced pistol.
Alligence: BCU
Bio: Not much is known about Rose's preservice history. But she graduated from college at the shocking age of 18. Rose has the looks and deadly efficency of a proffessional assassin. Hanpicked by the Chief of BCU himself, Rose entered the force the same time Gwen did. Both of them were always at each others throats, always trying to outdo one another. But while Gwen preferred tactical methods, Rose was more of a ruthless woman, striking at the heart of the opposition without any concern for casualties. It was this trait that alienated her from the others, but also gave her the highest missions success rate: 100%. Never once has she failed to get the job done.
Appearence: Rose Caldwell
Personality: Rose is a cold, sadistic woman, who enjoys tormenting her opponents, and always speaks in a slow, deliberate monotone.
Other:

New Dawn
(Yep. You can be the bad guys. As long as you understand you will lose in the end.)

She lived a lonely existence, having been manipulated her entire life for her money. Nicole is a trusting person, but it seems she always falls in with the wrong crowd. Until she met Derek. What is their past together...? But when New Dawn was founded, she used her significant fundings to purchase a laboratory.
Appearence:Nicole Westland
Personality: She is a happy, fun-loving person. She really is a good person to get along with, but she is just fighting for the wrong side.
Other: Claire always keeps a locket with a picture of her and Derek inside.

Please, try to escape. More time to savor the hunt... and the kill.
Name: The Hunter(Has forgotten his real name)
Age: 35
Weapons: A composite bow with sharp arrows, poison arrows, and explosive arrows.
Alligence: New Dawn

Appearence: The Hunter
Personality: Being insane, he now believes that he is a big game hunter. And Jack and the group are the prey.
Other:

All living things shall kneel before their master...
Name: Caulder
Age: 67
Weapons: Power of the Angel Virus and Genocide Virus
Allegience: New Dawn
Bio: Caulder is the strongest of the Four Pillars. Without him, New Dawn would never have been made. When he was just a little boy, Caulder discovered an ancient ruin of a civilization long ago who had to deal with a mysterious zombie outbreak. What he didn't know is that the blood of one of the ancient zombies was still perserved, and some of it spilled on him. Caulder was slowly becoming a zombie. Rushing to his three closest friends, the four of them were able to create a temporary Vaccine to the virus. The four Pillars then decided to make a virus to hopefully counteract the effects of the original virus. Thus, the G-Virus was created. Now, Caulder was succesfuly able to create the Angel Virus, the true cure to the Genocide Virus. But by the time of injection, the G-Virus had spread too deeply, and could not be completly removed. So now, Caulder possesed the power of both Angel and Genocide Virus.
Appearnce:Caulder
Personality: Nothing could stop him in his greed for power. Evil, insane, and powerful, Caulder's psychopathic obsession for finding and killing Jack and the other reached no boundaries.
Other:

Freelancer
(These guys have no Alligence, and do whatever they want.)

...Death.... Everyone speaks of it... but only I have seen it.
Name: Jack Alstrom
Age: 30
Weapons: custom 12mm handgun w/ silencer, a Riot Shotgun, a collapsable sniper rifle, and his A-Virus powers.
Allegiance: Freelancer
Bio: Jack Alstrom, the most revered, feared, and iconic symbol of the New York Incident, but only to those who know his existance. Only the survivors of the New York Incident and the members of BCU know his existence. Jack has a secret agenda, and his plans have been shared with no one. Not even his own brother, Derek. Hours before the missile touchdown on New York City, Jack was forced to play a cruel lie to his fellow survivors. Faking his own death, Jack escaped the quarintine of New York and set off on his own. For all everyone else knew, Jack Alstrom was dead. But this is what Jack wanted. Whatever he needed to do, it must be done alone.

However, news reports have shown that a man matching Jack's description has been seen in various locations around the globe! But these reports are vague, and no confirmation can be given. Bu tthese reports are... unnerving. Witnesses descrive Jack as, "Haunted, evil, a man possessed," Could this truly be the same kindhearted man from ten years ago?
Appearence: Jack Alstrom
Personality: Jack is a changed man. No longer does he hold a soft spot for his friends. He is calm, quiet, but ruthless. His eyes reflect a cold, dark aura that was never present before. What happened to make him this way?
Other: Jack always wears a jacket, but if anyone looked at his bare arms, it is noticable that his right arm is more bulky. Why?

Rules:
There is only one rule:

- Do not anger me.

Easy, right? Well, let me give you a list of things that anger me:

-Godmodding
-Cybering
-Twisting my plot into something that glorifies your character and makes all the others look bad.
-Not being active.

There we go. All these things anger me. DO NOT DO THEM.

Clear? Perfect.

Fear clawing at Gwen's heart as she charged through the horde of zombie. There was no warning, no sign that anything was wrong. One moment, it was peaceful in Washington. The next, a small horde of infected emerged! There was no warning, no beginning. It just... happened.

Of course, being in BCU, she had to clean it up.

Gwen whipped around and removed her two 9mm pistols. Firing away, she could only take down one with every two shots. Gwen was a strategist. A tactician. Not a fighter. And that was made very apparent in that moment.

Mags empty, she fumbled with the extra's to reload. But they were closing in too fast!

"NO!" she screamed as she put her hands up to her face.

Suddenly, A deafening sound of machine gun fire ripped through the moans and screams of the infected. Gwen looked to her right and breathed a sigh of relief. It was Derek. He had gotten the distress signal and was on his way to back Gwen up.

Not a moment too soon!

Derek took a post in front of Gwen and started firing. Gwen was good with her head, not with her gun. Derek was quite the opposite. He provided cover while she reloaded.

Finally, pistols loaded, Gwen and Derek started mowing down the zombies like they were moving a lawn. It didn't take too long before they finished the crowd.

Gwen breathed, then started reloading a second time, "You came just in time. Thanks!"

Derek grinned as he released the mag on his TMP. Loading another one, he said, "Yeah. Sorry about not getting to you sooner. I couldn't let our fantastic leader get eaten alive, eh?"

Gwen huffed, "Of course... I wish someone else could have responded..."

"Yeah. Glad to see you're so grateful. Maybe next time I'll just sit back and watch," Derek grumbled, "Anyway, where's Shea? I thought she was with you?"

"When the attack came, we got seperated," Gwen explained, "I told her to run to HQ. She'll be safer there than out here."

Derek raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, and look how that turned out. You almost died, and we don't even know where Shea is."

"Well," Gwen snapped, "You gonna stand there and mock me, or are you gonna help me find her?"

Without waiting for an answer, Gwen ran off.

"...You're the boss..." Derek mumbled as he hurried after her.

All around, the two could hear the screams of the living being attacked. Cars had crashed all around then, and fires erupted everywhere. It was real hell on Earth...

Th-thump...th-thump...th-thump....

There were gunshots from afar, about 5 miles west, as the hoard of the living dead prided upon anything that moved. Everyday was a warzone and there was no room for error. Leaning against a corner of an old grocery store, sweating, Shea pulled her magnum pistol near her face, trying to control her breathing.

There is no room for error, she thought. She had to make this quick. Peeking around the corner, were four zombies feeding upon a dead carcass. IF she didnt kill these quick, who knows when others will come.
With one last breath, Shea whipped out her pistol and aimed.

BAM!
BAM!
BAM!
BAM!

Right down the middle of the forehead. With a smile, Shea wiped the sweat off her neck and ventured toward the carcass covering her mouth.

"God..." Shea muttured under her breath, her eyes widened in horror. It was pieces of a small child, she once held a teddy bear, which must have been her only weapon against the attack. Tears weld up in Shea's eyes.
If only I could have been here on time....She thought regretfully. If only I was like...him...
PostPosted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 6:34 am

((Hm... Thinking I should try and color my posts... to avoid confusion...))

No survivors anywhere... They're all dead.

It was all Gwen could do to keep from being sick. She had seen plenty of death in New York and after that. She had seen outbreaks, handled them easily. But this... this was a nightmare. Never before, in all the time she had been in BCU, had she ever been in the middle of a battlefield like this.

...It was sickening.

Suddenly, Gwen's knees buckled, and she keeled over. The stench of blood, gore, and the screams of chaos, pain, and the sight of blood, gore, and dismembered humans finally overwhelmed her senses. She could hold it in her stomach anymore, and sicked on the concrete.

"Oh, s**t!" Derek said, as he skidded to a stop. Rushing back to Gwen, Derek knelt down and said, "This reall isn't the time, Gwen! Be sick and miserable when we get to BCU HQ!

"I'm... sorry..." Gwen breathed, "This is just..."

But before she could finish her sentence, she hardened. No. This wasn't her. Should couldn't show weakness. Not now. Not ever. She was the leader of the 5th containment squad in BCU, and she could not show weakness. Too many people died for her to start crying now.

Gwen wiped her mouth and stood up, "Sorry. I'll be fine."

Derek was not convinced, "Look," he said, "Just stay with me, and I'll keep you alive. Just watch out for any infected, alright?"

The two of them looked at each other for a long time.

Derek swallowed, "Uh... I mean, after all. We don't want our captain to get sick.... and... I mean..."

Gwen suddenly snapped, "What are you gawking at, lutinent?! We've got a mission to complete!"

Derek jumped back, "Y-yes ma'am! Let's-"

*CRAAAACKLE*

Gwen reached down and grabbed her walkie-talkie, "5th squad caption Gwen Taylor.

"Gwen. You are needed at BCU HQ. The Chief has news for you." Came the call from the Head of Communications.

"Understood, Miranda, "Gwen replied, "Come on, Derek! Let's find Shea!"

The two set off again, this time, to locate Shea.

"Come in...Come In Gwen..."
"Shhhhh...crackle...."

Shea pulled the headset off and examined it. It looked fine but evidently there was no signal on the other end as she tried numerous times to locate the two she had apparently lost.

"So much for BCU's newest technology...."
Shea shook her head, disappointed with her signal. She couldnt have strayed too far from them. Her only hope was to head back the way she came. Putting her pistol into her holster, Shea looked at the bloody scene one more time with regret and turned around...

"AWWWW!"
Instantly, Shea was forced to the ground by a murder of crows. landing on her hand rifle, shea screamed in pain. It was short and although her spine hurt, it wasnt serious. The birds were flying away from something...that isnt a good sign, she thought and suddenly without a moment too soon, an entire family of zombies appeared out of the dark and ran toward Shea from all sides.

Shea swung out her rifle around her back and to her hands and began the killing spree. All around her were ten, twenty, thirty zombies coming from no where!
"Where the hell are you guys coming from?!" She screamed over the sound of bullets being plunged into flesh. It was only time until exhaustion overpowered Shea. Spinning in circles, bullets fell near her feet, and the gun stopped.
The mags were empty.
Shea clenched the rifle tightly.
She thought of the fear of exhaustion, but she forgot to pack extra ammo.
"I knew I forgot something." She got ready for the attack, as twenty more zombies came out from hiding.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:32 pm

Gunfire cracked through the air as Derek turned his TMP on full auto and mowed down the zombies closest to Shea.

Gwen jumped in front of Shea, giving her cover so she could reload.

"Dammit, girl!" Gwen snapped, "I told you to make for HQ! You know where it is, don't you?!"

"Easy, Chica!" Derek yelled, "Let's grill later, if we all make it out of here, aight?"

It was common knowledge how much Gwen disliked Shea. The girl's young age, yet suprising capabilities seemed to grate on Gwen's mind. Derek seemed to be the only person who stood up to her, since Shea was only a child in the eyes of BCU.

In fact, it was Derek that insisted to BCU that Shea joined the squad. The reason, however, was not one that he told to anyone.

...But that could come later.

"Of course I know!" Shea snapped back, searching for her missing ammo, patting down her pockets. She has to have more somewhere! Shea was frustrated with Gwen but she knew she deserved it. Still, that woman can be a real b***h sometimes.

Ive got to have some, somewhere....How could she have forgotten the most important task? Placing the Rifle back behind Shea in her "back pack" holster, she called it, She reached for her pistol and opened the chamber:
3 bullets left.

"I think we should take your advice now, Gwen." Shea didnt have enough ammo to take down a hoard of zombies. I should have listened...Shea thought beating herself over for her mistakes. Shea just wanted to help and prove to Gwen, once and for all, she is fine on her own.
Obviously, that didnt work out.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 03, 2010 3:39 pm

"That was an order! Not advice!" Gwen shouted as they broke out from the crowd.

Derek stayed closer to Shea, providing her with cover fire, since her ammo is depleted.

It took about thirty minutes of running, but the three of them finally reached BCU HQ.

An undecorated building, HQ is a small structure above the surface, but the real action takes places below the crust. In the event of a zombie disaster, the armored facilities of HQ would protect anyone. Similar "panic rooms" were built for this same purpose.

Quickly, Derek swiped his I.D card across the scanner, then leaned in while the system did a retinal scan.

"Man...BCU knows how to make simple things complicated," Derek remarked as the scan continued, while Shea and Gwen were providing cover.

About five seconds later, the lock disengeaged, and the doors opened. The three of them hauled a** inside.

Shea clenched her jaw shut before she made another mistake in front of Derek. Angered, she didnt want her emotions to get in the way of her job, and right now their job was to reach the Unit safely without any complaints. Although Shea holds a spot of hate for Gwen, she didnt want make a scene. Theres no time for teenage rebellion...

Finally, as they reached the entrance of the Unit, and the doors opened, Shea followed them, darting inside as quickly as her legs would take her. Once the doors locked shut behind them, Shea wiped off the sweat from her brow and looked at Derek with a serious look ignoring what Gwen said before and pretending she never said anything.
"So Derek, you might want to ask the captain why my headset doesnt work?" Shea smiled trying to hide her disappointment in the technology. "Isnt BCU supposed to have the BEST equipment, or was I left with handy downs?" She asked, taking the headset off and tossing it toward him.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 03, 2010 4:58 pm

Dispite the mood, Derek grinned at Shea, "Well, what can I tell ya, Shea? They cut the budget for operative equipment to put shiny gold plating on the toliets! BCU knows how to make an image, if anything,"

"Enough, enough!" Gwen hissed, "Derek, shape up! Shea, shut up!"

Entering the door on the other side of the compound, the three stepped in an elavator and commenced the descent.

When Gwen wasn't looking, Derek performed a Nazi salute and mouthed, "Hail, Hitler!"all while grinning to Shea.

At the end of the descent, the three stepped out of the elevator, turned down the familiar hallways, and opened the door to the Cheif's office.

"Gwen Taylor," growled the chief, glaring at the security monitors, "May I ask what happened?"

"I'm... sorry, Chief."

"Sorry does not justify your faliure!" The Chief roared, turning around, "So many people died, and YOU were supposed to monitor this section of the city!!"

Gwen bowed her head, misery reflected in her eyes, "I understand, Cheif."

"What? Woah, hey now!" Derek said, "This wasn't her fault! This outbreak came out of nowhere! No one could have forseen this!"

"Mind your place, Lutinent!" the Chief growled, "This is a faliure on every account, and I will not tolorate insubordination!"

"Sir!" Gwen interrupted before Derek could say anything else, "I have taken every measure possible to eliminate this threat before it spreads to other sectors of the city."

"Good work, Gwen," the Chief said, "But that's not why I called you here."

"Oh?" Derek asked, "Then what's going on?"

The chief turned around and pressed a button. On it, was a Channel 5 News Report.

"We have reports that the killer has struck again," reported a newswoman, "This time, the killer has struck a U.S senator. These long string of murders has no sign of letting up. Will this violent man be caught? Reporters are saying that it's only a matter of time. The assassin has been making small mistakes. Small errors. Last night, Channel 5 has caught the killer on tape before vanishing!"

"Oh yeah. The Red Savage," Gwen said, "It's an unknown assassin that seems to be killing many politicians as of late. Started up around five years ago. Strange he hasn't been caught."

"We believe we may have discovered his identity." the Chief said.

All three of them looked at the Chief in shock.

"Really? Who?" Derek asked.

The Chief answered by pressing a button. The news report shows a video of a figure standing out in the moonlight, his right arm covered in blood.

To the common people, he would be a stranger.

To the people in that room now... it was a nightmare.

Derek dropped the headset that Shea threw at him. Gwen drew in a sharp breath.

"...Jack!" they said together.

Before Shea could comment jokingly on Derek's reply to her questions, Gwen cut in, and once again pissing Shea off. Shea glared at her for a couple seconds before entering the elevator, descending toward the chief's office. Shea was alittle nervous, as she always is when she has to confront the chief. Luckily, Derek had helped to calm her nerves, as she giggled quietly, covering her mouth to avoid another yelling from Gwen. Derek and Shea were like two sarcastic children when put into a room together, although Shea is still considered a child in the eyes of BCU, Derek is probably the only guy who stands up for her.
Following behind the other two, they entered the Office.

Shea stood straight and tall, attentively listening to the chief, but as the conversation carried on past the news broadcast, and to the description of the Assassin, her attention was listening suspensly.
Suddenly, Shea's eyes widened. Her breath as sharp as a needle. Her body shaking, as she watched the man covered in blood pop up on the screen.
She could never forget that man.
The one who's heart was full of love.
The man who saved her life.
"Jack..."

Shea stepped out of character, and stepped forward towards the chief. Her emotions getting the better of her.
"So you are saying the Red Savage Assassin, who has killed innocent people, is Jack!!" She shook her head, trying to believe it wasnt true. She thought it over again, but still she couldnt believe that kind man she knew ten years ago could be a murderer.
But the picture didnt lie...

Shea looked toward Derek, hoping that he thought the same thing. That that picture might be false.
Shea was just holding on to false hope... as she looked at the picture one last time.

"No... This is bullshit! Jack is... Jack is dead!" Gwen snapped, "He was caught in the nuke touchdown, he couldn't make it out in time!"

"Not according to this," the Chief replied, "Apparently, the man you call Jack is very much alive... and it seems he isn't on our side."

"I... No, I don't understand," Derek said, "I know him! Jack would never do this! I'm his brother for crying out loud!"

"...It was that that made me call you in here, Luitinent," the Chief said, taking a step forward.

"Uh... what...?" Derek started.

"You and Jack are related," the Chief said, "Jack should trust you beyond any reasoning. So that could mean-"

"Wha... WOAH! Hold on now!" Derek shouted, "Are you saying that... I'm... leaking info to Jack?!?"

The Chief's cold glare was answer enough.

"What the hell have you been smoking?!" Derek demanded, "I had no clue that he was even ALIVE until just now! Why would you think that I-"

"The CIA has been trying to capture him ever since he made himself known," The Chief explained, "When his... unusual powers have been revealed, BCU has been deployed to stop him. The only way he could stay one step ahead of us... is if he knew what we were doing."

As he was taking, the Chief slowly brought his hand behind him, clutching a .44 magnum revolver. If Derek turned hostile, he would shoot him down.

Shea's eyes widened at the chief. Disbelief, fear and confusion overcame the nineteen year old as her eyes fell toward the chief's revolver. All she could do was watch as the leader of BCU make such a broad assumption in the case.
Time froze.
Shock settled in.
And then reasonable logic came to mind.
"Is this your assumption? The only evidence you have is that...He-" Shea pointed to the picture, not wanting to say that name. She didnt want to show weakness. "-can not be captured." Shea looked at Derek. "That is seriously a big leap, chief, and what I learned at BCU is we cannot listen to assumptions...only facts." He had to listen to her, because she knew Derek for years growing up. He couldnt leak information.
But what if...
So Shea had an idea.
"Ok Chief. So what if your right. Im sure shooting him wont be any good to us. Maybe let someone keep a close eye on him."
She tried to convince the chief. She didnt want any more violence, at least not in the building. This was her safe haven. This was her escape from the outside world.
"If we cant trust eachother, who are we to trust?"
