Every other decade, eight random souls who committed suicide or had an untimely death are chosen to become Trépas. Trépas, are souls that have been given another chance to complete or fulfill their life. Of course, they have a job to do in return for this. They must stop others from committing suicide or having regrets before they die. Mostly, the regrets consist of never finding love, hurting someone, or committing suicide in general. Thanatos is what a squad (two people in a group) is called. Squads are always made up of a girl and guy. Three out of the four squads will have one of the Âme children in it.

The Âme children are a very special case, indeed. All three of them were born as a Trépas instead of going through the cycle to become one. They currently carry out the legacy of what the Thanatos do.

It has been a decade since the last group of Thanatos came into existence. The classic four boys and four girls. We, the Âme children, would like to welcome you to our castle, your new headquarters.

I've been alive for 19 long years now.
My history is what's complicated. But I guess I should tell you about it anyway: I lived in an rich home where my parents were successful business owners. Both were always gone and very rarely returned. I grew up alone and, because of my parent's absence, without ever feeling loved. I had tried making friends at the school I went to but I eventually got pulled out of school to be home tutored so the other children "wouldn't distract me from my goals", as my mother once said. They wanted me for the sole purpose of taking over their business. With nothing but a hole in my heart and dried tears I drown myself in the pond near my home.
And those events made me the person I am today: I am a slight loner, but am freed from my parents' grips. I search to find what love truly is and make bonds with those around me. I am tired of being alone.
