User ImageWelcome in. You're in...
The employees' quarters, otherwise known as The Dorms to most of the employees (only Damien refers to it by its proper name) is a haven for the employees to rest and recuperate at the end of the night.

The facilities in the Dorms are numerous, and enough to keep the employees entertained throughout the year. There is a heated indoor pool, a games room with arcade games and billiards table, a library stocked with books, daily newspapers and magazines and a gym. The grassy clearing behind the Dorms may also be used for soccer or rugby, and there is also a basket ball court.

There are thirty to forty rooms in the Dorms, each decorated in almost the same way, but with different looks according to the personalities of the occupants. There are large beds, covered with sheets of the occupant's preference, enough for three or more people to sleep. There is a walk in closet and an ensuite bathroom, with marble floors and bathtubs sunken into the floor, beside a window of one way glass to offer a view of the grounds, but maintain privacy. Each room also has a television with cable, and a desk with a computer and wireless internet access. There is also a catalog of movies provided, so that occupants can choose to watch movies at any time.

The occupants are not required to keep their rooms extremely clean, for there is a housekeeping service provided, and laundry is done for them as well.

Employees can choose to eat at the Club, or to eat at the Dorms, both places having good food, as they are both served by some of the best chefs in the world, who strive to out do each other in creativity and taste, resulting in world class food everyday.

It is indeed a comfortable place to live, if only the price wasn't the danger lurking at every moment in the lives of the occupants.

~~**Gabriel.The Caretaker**~~

Gabriel was still smiling happily after the ten minutes walk to the employee quarters. The way there was shady, the buildings nearby making ample shade for anyone to be walking that way, so that the sun wouldn't be directly overhead and burning people's skin off, which Gabriel approved, because he was quite prone to sun burn, a thing that he never liked. It was probably also any members of the Midnight Reverie could slip over there, but it wasn't like that they could be easily gaining entrance. After all, they had rather high security there, too, even though it didn't seem that way, and not in the rundown kind of way, too. Gabriel took pride in looking after his employees' wellbeing, after all. He probably lived for nothing else.

Stopping before the entrance of the building that had a glass door to it, he pressed his hand to a sensor, which scanned him and then allowed his entrance, the glass doors sliding open quietly, cold air gushing out from the building, cooling them, thanks to Gabriel's love for coolness. It was lucky every room was equipped with its own heater and air conditioner that was voice controlled, or some had suspected that they would freeze to death.
"We've thought of using cards, but we thought that was a little too lax for security, so we use fingerprints, and pulse, and body temperature," he explained as he went into the lobby. "All your information has already been entered into our system, so you can easily come in and out of it. There's a 24-hour surveillance camera, too. Not too difficult, hm? We also have security around, but you won't see much of them." Moving to the reception desk that had a few employees at work that manned the running of the entire building and making sure that everything was in place, he got out a piece of paper, and returned to the little group that was now loitering around their new 'home'.

"We have a total of about thirty to forty rooms in here, so there is always an excess. You will have the luxury of choosing your own rooms, and then the key will be given to you," he handed the list of empty rooms to them, which were located pretty close to each other, and rather large in number. "We give you the freedom of decorating your own rooms as you wish, just like the way you decorate your own room at home. If there is anything, you only need to ask. Not much rules in here, just the basics, which you probably already know in way of courtesy. Housekeeping will be done on a regular basis, unless you don't want to, there's a laundry room, but you can drop your things off with our workers here..." He ticked off the list of everything they have in there and the services that are provided, and then smiled at the end of it.

"Choose your rooms, and i'll bring you to them with your keys, and we'll have a quick tour around before we arrange for transportation for your things to be brought here," he said, nodding to himself slightly, his eyes concentrating on something far away, thinking if anything slipped off his mental list. "Time is running short, and i have yet to brief you all on work tonight! Am i a little too excitable? Forgive me if i am... we only have new blood once a year!"

As soon as Nathan realized that they were preparing to leave, he turned his back on the tall boy and walked off, eager to cut off any chance of a relationship forming. That stuff only ever led to trouble, after all, it was a lesson he’s learned well. His cold eyes quickly focused on Gabriel, and then, more importantly, the imposing figure of Damien next to him. For a moment, it looked as if the two were holding hands, although, from this angle, it was difficult to be certain. Before he could investigate further, however, the caretaker was off, and after a moment of hesitation, he followed suit. What was it he’d just witnessed? The Chinese man had said something to Gabriel, and had most likely been holding his hand at the time. Perhaps the two shared some sort of bond. Whatever. It was none of his business, really. So long as he didn’t get dragged into anything more than the contract required, ignorance was probably the best path to take.

The brunet spent the entire walk in silence, following Gabriel from a slight distance. The air outside was cool and refreshing, a blissful contrast to the slightly stuffy atmosphere back inside the club. His mind still lingered there, pondering on what Li Wen must have said, even though he’d already decided to do nothing about it. The entire concept of a relationship between the two men seemed absurd, although, considering their current location, such at thing was probably considered normal. Come to think of it, were there even any women in the club? All of the prospective employees were male, all the staff he’d seen so far were male… The teen grew a shade paler at the thought, toying with the end of the scarf in an attempt to calm his growing nerves. All the guests he’d ever heard of had been male as well, and if that ominous clause in the contract meant what he thought it did, he was in even worse than he’d first expected. Well, not that much worse. At least the place had an extremely good reputation.

Lost in thought, Nathan failed to notice Gabriel stopping, or the building in front of them, and as a result, walked straight into the older man’s back. Just like when he’d been touched earlier, he darted back with incredible speed, red now tinting his cheeks in annoyance as he glared at the floor. A brief glance up confirmed what he’d seen from inside the Reverie, the accommodation was very impressive. However, the security brought yet another frown to the teen. Why was so much being done for their comfort and safety? The only reasons that came to mind were far from pleasant, and his mood continued to worsen. As the blast of cold air hit him, he tightened the scarf around his neck, before voicing a thought that had hit him whilst listening to Gabriel’s explanation of security.
“Who else has access to this place besides the employees? And why does this place feel more like a fortress than the residential block?” For once, emotion tainted his words, each one dripped suspicion and anger, although Gabriel was no longer the target of it. To be fair, it was hardly the caretaker’s fault that this had happened. All the blame lay with him, for not reading the contract carefully enough. Still, anger had to be vented, one way or another. And in this case, the caretaker was once again his unfortunate target.

Whilst waiting for an answer, he took the list of available rooms and eyed them up carefully. Attached was a diagram of the building, so it was easy to see which rooms would be in demand. The ones nearer the exit, and the ones that appeared to be larger. So, to avoid any chance of conflict, he began to look for less convenient rooms, and quickly selected on of the smaller ones, almost directly in the middle of the available dorms. For a moment, he was about to slam the list into Gabriel’s hand as ferociously as last time, but a glimpse of darkened skin made him think otherwise. Had he really hit the man that hard? Choosing to just hand the paper back instead, the sullen teen walked away from the group for a moment, halting a few feet away. The place did seem very spacious, if a little cold. Had Gabriel said anything about thermostats in the rooms? He couldn’t remember. It wasn’t long before he was lost in thought once again, a concerned frown ghosting over his features. He hadn’t meant to actually hurt the caretaker, and no doubt his mistake would come back to haunt him. Was that what Li Wen had been looking at earlier? Nathan’s mood sunk even further as he confirmed the possibility. Great. It looked like he might already be on the manager’s bad side.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Okay, So Tanay had to admit that outside the office, the club had style. It was an odd, kind of two tones style, like the place couldn't decide if it was modern, old fashioned or other, but it was a style. The blond was happy to follow the others out of the room, longing for some fresh air and maybe even some privacy. His fingers had now migrated to his pocket, turning the spare pack of smokes over in his hand. It was more out of nerves and annoyance then a real need for the deadly smoke and so as the stiff air moved about his exposed skin, soothing and calming him slightly after the heat of the office, Tanay managed ease his fingers from the packet and instead thread them together with his other hand behind his head. As they walked, and others took in the world around them, Tanay took the time to think over what had been said before. It seemed like the guests where very important to their boss, well aside from being celebrities and millionaires and the such like. He couldn't help but wonder, why did this job sound so dangerous to him? What kind of people were the quests exactly? Unfortunately before he could dwell on this too long the group came to a halt and then started to file into their new home.

xxxx One word hit Tanay once they entered the lobby. Clean. Everywhere was sleek and business like and the cool air that was blasting at him couldn't help but add to this sense. It was impressive and no doubt the other males would be thinking the same. His thoughts hushed down as their guild began to talk again. He couldn't help the grin and rush of relief as it was reviled they would all have their own rooms and that they where free to chose and decorate them as they wished. He waited happily for the lists to make its way round to him as he thought over what Gabriel had said not long before. It seemed that the dorms where set up to be the ultimate luxury for them, a place where work was little more then an afterthought and relaxation was the key. This was only confirmed in his mind as he was handed the list of available rooms. Even the smallest was still bigger then his old room and living area put together. He let out a low whistle and ended up picking one at random. He didn't much care who he was next too, and instead he just thought over the number of posters he would be able to fit on the walls.

CHASE

'Finally.' Pushing himself off from the wall he began to follow after Gabriel and the other employees as they were led out of the office and into the hallway. Once they were outside Chase was grateful for the fresh air, open space and just to be moving around. Glancing around the property curiously he paused in his steps when they arrived at a rather large building. Watching as their tour guide approached the glass door and held up his hand to some kind of sensor, which had the doors sliding open, he felt more like they were touring a government building than a night club. Sensors, security, cameras, and this was all just for the employees' safety, he couldn't imagine what kind of precautions were taken when dealing with the actual members of Midnight Reverie. Why they needed all this he wasn't sure, but it put him a bit on edge to say the least.

Upon entering the building he was instantly hit with a blast of cool air and immediately wanted to return outdoors where the warmth of the sun was. He never liked the cold, but he could bare with it for now. Once inside the lobby Gabriel wandered off for a few minutes and returned with more papers, these apparently had a list of the rooms they could choose from. It seemed some of the other employees found the security measures a bit extreme and one of them, Nathan if he remembered correctly, decided to voice his concerns. This had Chase glancing up from the piece of paper and waiting for a reply from the blond. Normally he wasn't one to ask questions, preferring to simply go with the flow and see where it took him, but he found himself intrigued as to what Gabriel's answer to the question would be. As for his room he wasn't really concerned with what one he got, it wasn't like it was going to be his permanent residence, more like staying in a hotel room for an extended period of time. As long as it had a bed and bathroom he would be content, so he randomly checked off a room and his eyes were drawn to the diagram that was attached to the list showing just how big this place really was. Scanning it closely he memorized where his room was and how to get to it, getting himself lost in the dorm building was something he would rather avoid if he could help it.

Once that was taken care of he handed the list back to Gabriel and waited for the tour of the building to begin. At the mention of a briefing on what was expected of them for their first night working at the club, Chase felt more at ease. Damien's explanation had been vague as to what exactly they were supposed to do, it was nice to know the caretaker would elaborate a little more on the subject. Excitable seemed like a good word to describe the male standing before them, normally he found overly perky people slightly annoying, but he'd take the energetic blond over some stuffy business man any day.

~~**Gabriel.The Caretaker**~~

Gabriel had easily brushed off the fact that Nathan had bumped into him, smiling and saying that it was of no matter at all, passing the paper around, and silently thanking Nathan that he did not hit him in the hand again, not wanting to play the harp tonight, if he had the chance to, with bruised hands. Handing it around to the other members with a pen, he went back to reception, getting the keys for them, in the form of cards, much like in a hotel room, and gestured for them to follow him. "We can walk and choose at the same time, we need to hurry if we're going to be on schedule," he said, making his way to where the rooms would be in the building, and getting into the lift lobby, holding the lift open and waiting for them to follow, as he turned Nathan's question carefully over in his mind.

"No one else but the workers who work here at reception, those who do the ad hoc jobs have the access here, and me. Does it feel like a fortress? I had a hand in designing it... Hm. Nevermind. People always think that because Midnight Reverie is highly reputated, our employees, would be rich. We don't want any break ins." Gabriel said, looking curiously at Nathan, wondering why the teen was being extra wary and cautious, and hoped that he wouldn't make a mistake tonight at work. Sighing ever so softly, because he supposed Nathan had already guessed the real nature of their work, Gabriel fiddled with the keys in his hands, then taking one out and handing it to Nathan. Still, Nathan aside, Gabriel was glad to see that most of them were rather happy at the prospect of owning their own rooms. A soft ding announced that their floor has been reached, and he piled out with the rest into a soft lighted, carpeted corridor with doors down its way, a potted plant next to a glass window that stretched from ceiling to floor at the end.

"There's never the fear of losing your way on which floor," Gabriel said as he led the way down, handing out the keys to those who have already chosen their rooms. "Go on, take a look at your rooms. I'll be waiting here." he urged.

As they explored the place, he contacted the people that were responsible for the transportation of the members' properties here, and arranged for them to wait at their address so that the job could be done in the quickest time possible. A quick tour to the pool, the games room and the library should do the job, he thought, glancing at the watch. It wouldn't do to keep Li Wen waiting, and everyone knows that he is often edgy on the first opening of the year.

Gabriel shared a close moment with his boss before departing a asking the new employee's to follow. After leaving the office James replaced his shoes on his feet and did a shot dash to catch up as the new employee's were lead outside. James followed the congregation happy that the entire path was cloaked in shadows. It was way to hot here in the sun for him. He was worried that the temperature was going to be a problem until the doors to the employee’s quarters opened and a nice blast of crisp air hit him even though he was standing to the back of the group. He wouldn’t have a problem surviving in this building.

After that James followed the rest of the group into the delightfully cool building making a mental note of the handprint scanner. That was impressive technology. Do all the buildings have such strenuous security? James wondered to himself. As he finished this thought he heard Gabriel, the host, saying that each employee would be allowed to choose their own rooms. James had read this in the job description report but it was still exciting news. Maybe this means I wont fall behind on my studies at all. He thought happily. He had been worried when he got the job he would not have any way of continuing his Astronomical mapping of the stars.

Nathan, the brown haired, hunched over boy, questioned the security. Clearly he did not realize that the clubs prestige would attract some unsavory characters to itself. Gabriel continued to state as much and then urged the employee’s to speed up their selection process. James had a quick look at the rooms before he asked,
“Do any of the rooms contain a skylight or some sort of balcony where I can see the sky, particularly at night?” This was the reason for his hesitance when they first entered. If none of the rooms had such a layout he would be out of luck. James patiently waited for a response as he studied the layout of the hall. It looked like a luxurious hotel. The carpet was just as soft as the carpet in the Boss's room. He also looked more closely at the diagram in Gabriel's hand. It appeared that there were area's the employee's to interact in a friendly manner including a game room, an indoor pool, a gym and "A library." James whispered allowed to himself as his eyes sparkled. The sheer size of it made him shudder. This was going to be a very good year as long as he obeyed the work load that would be placed on him.
