I'm curious what everyone thinks.
Lots of people are saying that Yaoi/BL is overrated. Yes. I think so too, but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing and isn't everything overrated? Shonen/Shojo/Games/Vampire/Comedy I don't know any genre that is not overrated. When it's done well, then it's good. I don't even knoiw most people are talking about either. Now a days, I see a lot of Yuri there have been so many Yuris that released last year, that I bet that alone beat Yaoi fans.

-What do you think is consider overrated?

I also wonder why Yaoi fans are so looked down upon and not the normal fans. When really, we're practically the same.

I think shojo is VERY overrated!

It's okay to like it, really, but I find that it's over hyped when it's just the same love story over and over again (in most cases anyway). Don't give me wrong, there are shojo manga I like. Still, I feel like the genre is too over hyped.

Perhaps it's because I'm a shonen and seinen person, but shojo is usually romantic comedy and I can't STAND it.

When it comes to yaoi, shonen-ai, and BL, they're a tiny bit overrated. I love all three genres, but now even they are going down the drain. They are all consisting of the same dumb love story and that's disappointing.
