In Germany, they drink a type of beer called, "Kölsch". It served to your table just like when you go out to dinner, and they bring you ice water. The glasses are all standardizd at 0.2 liters. Kolsch, as you might have guessed, is beer specifically brewed in Cologne (Koln). They also drink Coffee, defenitely, and tea.

In Germany, they eat small salad (klein salat - a mixture of pickled vegetables), to a hot meal. Buying a Schnitzel-brot is very popular, too. The Germans made a medium-hard crust, airy crumb rolls called Brotchen, about half the length of our sub rolls, and it could have a small cutlet (veal or pork) in it (schnitzel-brot), or pickled herring (herrings-brot) and just about anything else.

Kölsch is only manufactured in Cologne (and a few licensed other cities) and almost only drunk in Cologne or near Cologne. The most popular beersorts are the so called Pils (drunk in whole Germany), Weißbier (mostly southern Germany), Helles (mostly Bavaria), Altbier and Schwarzbier (Altbier and Schwarzbier are darker then the others and taste way different). And then there is the so called Malzbier made from Malt without Alcohol, mainly drunk by kids (it tastes a bit like the dark beer sorts).

The don't only use 0,2 glasses, the beer glasses have a really big variety starting with 0,2, 0,25, 0,3, 0,4, 0,5 etc. and the so called Mass which is 1 litre and used in Bavaria.

Oh and about the food, that completely depends on the area you are. In whole Germany the best selled fast-food is the Currywurst, Schnitzelbrötchen is popular as well, but not as popular as the Currywurst. The Currywurst has only 2 other fastfoods as "rivals": The american Hamburger and the turkish Döner, which started their breakthrough in the '80ties.
