Are you for religion? What are your thoughts on it? Why?
My opinion: Horrible. Sure, people can go ahead and have beliefs, but having groups for those beliefs? No. I completely disagree. It has caused so much controversy that it has split people up. What's even worse, is that I found lots of parents forcing their kids to go to church and worship their beliefs. They're the ones that want us to have our own mind, and their making us think like them. I don't know about you, but I'm not about to believe that there's a guy living in the sky who watches us and our mistakes. You'd think that he'd be down here, helping us out. At least showing us the roads we have. Wouldn't you?

Technically, I'm Jewish, but I'm both Jewish and Christian. I don't go to church because I think It's pointless. I don't believe in god. For the reason stated in my argument.

I don't like the idea of 'Religions' they're pretty much brainwashing people to hate everyone different than them, or someone who believes in something different.
Like the bible pretty much says that if you don't convert then you're going to hell.
And if you don't agree with everything they say or do they say you get a one way ticket to hell.
I recently got yelled at by a couple of religious fanatics in my class because I said I don't believe in heaven.
Which I don't. I believe that everyone sins so much in their lives that we're all going to hell. It just depends on how much you sinned that determines how bad it's going to be for you.

I don't believe in sinning. I mean, if god didn't want us to sin, why isn't he telling us we're doing the wrongs thing? I don't believe in hell, nor do I believe in heaven. So, when we're dead, we're going to go down to the center of the earth where the devil lives? Yes, of course we are. I feel as though religions are there for people to grab onto for hope, when they can find no hope in reality. (I saw reality, because I feel people who worship religions aren't thinking about real life, but what they believe. So I say)

I am actually a very theist person. I say theist, because I'm not hooked on one religion or another, although I have been attending a christian church lately. But at the same time I'm practicing Wicca/Paganistic things.
I do believe there is someone or something higher than us. Whether there is someone lower than us (satan or w/e) is debatable in my mind.
I don't think I could go without some kind of belief. If this is all life has to offer, then I might as well just off myself right here and now.
Also another reason I am inclined to believe in a higher power is that when people get rich, they think they have everything they could ever need, but there's always that hollow spot. That area of satisfaction that cannot be filled by mortal means. Sure there are temporary pleasures, but they are just that; Temporary.
I don't mean to be controversial, or to step on your toes, but that is what I think. I'm not trying to convert anyone, but I do leave an option open to my friends and family who are basically atheists to come join me in my spirituality, whether it be what I believe or another form. I don't force anyone's hand or thoughts. I just leave a door open and let them decide to see whats on the other side.

well, i'm pagan, wiccan to be exact, so i don't believe in the christian god or any of that stuff. we have a sort of heven, known as the Land of Eternal Summer(or the Relm of the Fey depending on who you talk too), but we don't have sin, or hell, or a devil. i mean, there's stuff you're not supposed to do, but basically if you don't hurt people you're good to go.
i used to be kinda christian but i didn't get why everyone contradicted each other, or why people who went to church would preach one thing and then do the exact opposite. so, i changed my religion and have been happy with it sense. with the idea of most large, organized religions telling their followers how to act, live, and think, i'm highly against that(one of the reasons i'm not christian anymore and haven't been for a while now). in the matter of sin, all seven of them are all parts of human nature. so if by having them or acting on them will send you to hell unless you repent, everyone is going to hell for their high school years alone because i doubt that everyone was asking for forgivness every ten seconds(an exaggeration i know, but i hope you get what i mean)
so, i'm all for religion if you don't let it tell you how or who to be or it helps you through things. also, not all people who follow a religion are narrow minded, self-rightous, hypoctical people who need hit upside the head no and again. so i guess i'm ok with religion as long as you don't shove it down my throat and you're a good person over all.

my opinion
I hate religion. Religion is a bunch of rules, do's and don'ts and as previously said people get into arguments over them and force their kids to go to church that is not right. Or yell at you saying "believe what I believe or else"
However I love God with all my heart, He's my everything. The reason I stand, the reason I live. I go to church but at my church we are a family, we love each other, encourage each other, pray for each other. We believe in a relationship with a loving God just like you would know a friend you get to know God and you walk with Him.
Religion you have to work towards something to be good or to be better but it's never enough and it just tires you out. But knowing God you have a peace in your heart, a love and joy you've never known before. One that says my world around me is falling apart but i'm ok because there is a God who is stronger than me and although I can't see Him I feel Him in my heart and I know He's holding me.
a song that states my oppinon.
Give me rules, I will break them Show me lines, I will cross them I need more than a truth to believe I need a truth that lives, moves, and breathes To sweep me off my feet
Its gotta be More like falling in love Than something to believe in More like losing my heart Than giving my allegiance Caught up, called out Come take a look at me now Its like I'm falling, Ohhhh Its like I'm falling in love
Give me words, I'll misuse them Obligations, I'll missplace them Cuz all religion ever made of me Was just a sinner with a stone tied to my feet It never set me free
Its gotta be More like falling in love Than something to believe in More like losing my heart Than giving my allegiance Caught up, called out Come take a look at me now Its like I'm falling Its like I'm falling in love
Love, Love Deeper and deeper It was love that made me a believer In more than a name, a faith, a creed Falling in love with Jesus brought the change in me
Its gotta be More like falling in love Than something to believe in More like losing my heart Than giving my allegiance Caught up, called out Come take a look at me now Its like I'm falling, Ohhhh Its like I'm falling
Its gotta be More like falling in love Than something to believe in More like losing my heart Than giving my allegiance Caught up, called out Come take a look at me now Its like I'm falling, Ohhhh Its like I'm falling In love
More Like Falling In Love By Jason Gray
I believe God is loving and doesn't force anyone to believe He simply gives us free will. God is a perfect God if He came close to us here on earth we would perish because His glory is so strong. Right now when we worship we have His restrained glory anymore we would burn up in His holiness that is why He's not actually down here. But He does intervene, since He is a Spirit He intervenes when He can but won't go against people's free will. We all have the right to choose who we are, what we say, what we do, and God won't change that. So I hate religion and I think forcing anyone into anything is wrong and people shouldn't get split apart because of it. But I love God with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength, all my mind. That's what I believe heart

I believe that hell is a place that we choose to go to live without God. God doesn't send us there, I'm sorry for those who have yelled at you that's not the way to go. If you don't want God that is your choice and God will still love you. The bible says that God is loving and patient He won't force you to choose Him but His arms are open if you do. Hell is God's glory, if you don't want to believe in God, or if you hate God then you go to hell and it is a place being surrounded by the very thing you hate. For those who believe in God an eternity without Him is hell, surrounded by His glory is not enough you want to be the one you love. Which I believe is what heaven is. I would like to personally appolgize for the religous freaks who have yelled at you. I'm not them but I would like to appologize for those who have hurt you.

I mean sure, it's hard I believe God does help along the way. Christianity is not considered a religion to many Christians. It's a relationship with God and Jesus Christ. For setting us free. Hope is something good at times. When you hope for a death of someone, then I find that sick. Hope in a form of good though, can bring something. Reality does have hope no matter what any scientist says. I have hope to be an author and I know I might if I hope on and keep trying for it. Hope is almost like encouragement to us. It is a myth that hell is in the center. I think we would of found that out by now. Though I believe it's somewhere for the universe is vast. I do believe in God. I have not much evidence, but I can say I've seen miracles before. 3 years ago it snowed enough in Shanghai for a snow day. I had prayed for snow because I missed home a lot. It hadn't snowed as much as it did since 100 years.
