Atop a small rise in the center of the Shadow Hunter Compound, sprawls Tintagel Manor, the home of Master Slayer Lanyx, his family, and any employees, allies, or guests who happen to be passing through at the time. This remodeled medieval castle is the center of all Shadow Hunter operations, built to be both aesthetically pleasing and for defense. Retractable metal shutters can be rolled down over all the windows, and the doors can be magnetically sealed, with the push of a button. At the front of the manor, stone steps lead up onto a sizable cobblestone veranda, and French doors open to a small entryway, ten feet by ten feet. Heavy, carved stone doors remain locked, until a person’s identity can be verified. Stepping through the doors lead one into a three story tall grand foyer, the floor of which is covered in a mosaic image of a circled triquetra. The ceiling of the foyer is painted with a masterpiece of Angels and Demons waging war across the cosmos. Pillars cut of emerald jade, marble lined with silver veins, and onyx circle the room, and support the balconies of the second and third floors. To the left of the entrance, an open door leads to a den, stocked with a full bar, a pool table, and a large flat-screen television, accommodated by overstuffed, comfortable chairs and a couch. To the right of the entrance, a dining room, with a table large enough to seat twenty people gives access to a fully stocked, professional kitchen.
At the top of the stairs to the second floor, cherry stained, double doors give access to Lanyx’s reception room, and study. The floor is done in hardwood so dark it is almost black, though those with better eyesight would notice it is actually earth-brown in tone, area rugs of lush green carpet cover most of the floor. The walls, where they are visible between windows and bookshelves, are painted with forest scenery, and even the bookshelves themselves are made of rough-cut wood, almost appearing like the trunks of trees. Lanyx’s large black desk, and wingback chair dominate the center of this room, while couches and chairs take up most of the remaining wall space.
The second floor is also home to guest bedrooms, done in expensive, but tasteful decor. A spacious living room, that doubles as a home theater dominates the eastern wing of the second floor. A public library of collective knowledge dominates the west wing, though not one so grand as to be found at the Arcana Lyceum. The third floor mostly contains the bedrooms of the Desalia Family and their personal laboratories. Unless of course they are having to stay at another location, because of renovation being caused by any number of explosions created by Lanyx’s magick, Taro’s incessant need to make her computers run faster than they are capable or any number of other reasons.
