A medium size stone building sits off to the side of the town. The structure is an old one, one of the oldest buildings in the area, and from a distance it seems relatively ordinary but as one approaches, even the most insensitive can feel the buzz and weight of ancient magicks. This is Vaelysa, a living library, the hall of records. Many secrets wait with in theses stone walls, some more dangerous then the books, though many of them could kill you as well. Perhaps not the books themselves but he knowledge contained within each ancient leather-bound tome. The door is a heavy wood the walls and floor are stone. Upon entering one will see a large antiquated wooden desk that sits up a bit as if on a podium. The desk is usually covered with an assortment of books and an ornate reading lamp. On either side the rooms branch out, on the left is the Simple spells Section, where many young mages spend much time learning the basics of their trade, and on the right the reference books, filled with information on alchemy and how-tos as well as Fact and Magickal Theory. There is a large door behind the desk that leads to the Restricted Section, a place containing the higher level spells and Magickal Theory for the Upper Level mages. Scattered among the shelves on either side are reading nooks containing comfy chairs and small tables at regular intervals are desks pushed up agents he wall each fitted with a reading lamp. The back and left sides of the library buzz with power. Sometimes the books move around the shelves in and of themselves. Behind the great wooden door in the back wall hidden among the books is a passage way in to the depths of the library were more than books are stored, here in the ground under layers of protection and nullification magicks to ward off outside magicks used to glimpse what lay beneath are many magic weapons of old, many ancient and most to dangerous to use, both to the wielder and the victim. Weapons, armor, and items of power all reside hidden and carefully cataloged and recorded. Even lower one might find a number of carefully contained creatures, elementals, golems, creatures of destruction that if unleashed would wreak havoc on the world. All this and more is sealed beneath the library and guarded by the Spirit of the Library, who holds the key to the catacomb and who is sworn to keep them safe.
