Hawk opened one eye lazily and yawned. He'd made a good kill and had eaten his fill and then gone for a nap. Good meals always did make him sleepy.
It was now late afternoon and the rock he'd used to doze now felt too hot so he ruffled his wings and stood, not quite sure what to do with himself. He lived a quiet life by himself, there had been clutches and females in the past but never one to hold his attention for long. He always seemed to care more about the children, even now he wondered how his latest daughter was doing. Derisively he shook off the thought and spread his great wings. He'd take a short flight and see what there was to see. Yes, that sounded like a good idea for a late afternoon.

Solaris.. Was restless.. She'd been sunning herself lazily for a great portion of the morning.. And a great portion of the afternoon for that matter, on her favourite rock, a broad slightly crumbly affair, perfect for sunning oneself, and she'd fought off a great number of smaller reptiles to reclaim it.. Okay fought off was probably not the right saying.. She'd eaten a couple of them, she'd admit.. But this was her rock, darn it! This was her little plot of territory and she'd be damned if she was going to share it with a bunch of little lizards.. But back to the matter at hand.. It was warm, almost too warm, and the dead tree throwing the meagre dappling of broken shade over her was doing nothing much to alleviate the borderline uncomfortable heat. She wasn't hungry enough to go and hunt, her last large meal had been a few days ago and she was full enough still, the lizards had helped that along somewhat as well.. She heaved a sigh, rolling herself partially onto her side once more, stretching out her hind-legs from beneath her as she turned a blue eyes to lazily scan the skies. A fly was far too much effort for her, she couldn't think of another place she felt much like investigating for the time.. She perked up her ears a little, her wings still drooped around her body as a bright eye locked on to a darker shape in the sky in the distance.. She shouldn't have been too surprised, her rock was towards the edge of her small excuse for territory and it wasn't exactly rare to see other hippogriff occasionally.. But still, it was cause enough to peak her interest.. What were the doing here? Having a hunt? With another little sigh of effort she rolled herself back upright and arched her neck back to sound of a somewhat curious screech, who on earth was this? Were they going to be friendly? Maybe.. They'd bring her some food..? She hoped, certainly.

Hawk heard the cry as he was lazily shifting on a air current. He'd been thinking more than flying so he hadn't been paying attention to the ground or where the upward air draft was taking him. Immediately he angled his wings then hovered in spot to look at the called. If was a griff, he knew that, gender couldn't be distinguished from this height though. He made a cry back in greeting then began to head for ground in a tight dive. A friendly new neighbor might be nice.

Solaris chirped with excitement and a little anxiously as well at the large shape of the other hippogriff made a dive to the earth. They were landing! So they were going to be friendly? She very much hoped so, she was a little more confident of this as they didn't seem to be diving right for her in what could have turned into an attack, surely! She shifted a little on her belly before planting her forelegs against the edge of the rock and hauling herself up to her feet, giving her coat and wings a brisk shake to loosen any dust or bugs that may have dared to creep onto her, hopping a little from foot to foot as the shape grew all the closer. It was getting bigger and bigger and the closer he came to the earth, the more masculine the shape became. She stood right on the edge of the sunning space, dipping her head down a little to fix both her eyes on the male with a chirped greeting, "Greetings there, stranger! How do the winds fair this fine evening?" It was a way to start talks, afterall, "I haven't seen a soul come this way for a fair time, what brings you?" She questioned further in a friendly tone.
