Since we're all Van Halen fans here, we must've become a fan at some point, but when?
I became one a couple years ago or so. I was probably approximately 17.

In high school my friend introduced me to Van Halen. Ever since, I've been a huge fan.

Jimmy5150 In high school my friend introduced me to Van Halen. Ever since, I've been a huge fan. Yay for friends! An ex-boyfriend got me into rock n' roll and mentioned Van Halen. I thought I'd give them to listen and they're amazing surprised

I had always loved the Beat It solo since junior high school and I didnt know that Eddie played it until I was in high school haha. I've known Jump since I was three, or as long as I can remember. But since it sounded sort of pop-ish to me when I was little, I had no clue who it was by. Then, there was that one ride in the car over the summer of 2009... they played it on the radio and announced who it was by and my life changed forever.... *stares into open space as if something holy is there* Hahahaha, just kidding

So maybe it was before I was 17. Although 17 was what I remember. A friend who only liked that song by Van Halen was helping me find new music to listen to. I listened to it and I'm like, "...wait! This sounds so familiar! Where have I heard this before?!" I got hooked on that song and then got into "You Really Got Me" when I saw it on Guitar Hero II. I started getting into their music more from then.
