We all know how nerve racking it can be to meet new people and get into the flow of a pre-existing group, but a simple introductions provides an opportunity; the opportunity to connect and bond with others who have the same interests as you! Don't feel limited to just post your introduction and leave, PIKA is a place above all else to gain friendships. Who knows, maybe you'll come across someone you know in here!
Stump for ideas for an introduction? Here's a format you can use to get things started. If there is additional information that you would like to state that's not listed, or maybe information you don't wish to list on here, feel free to adjust and make your introduction, your own!

❀ Badge Name: Christine ❀ Number of Conventions: Two. I feel so inadequate compared to Sammie ❀ First Convention: Comic-con '08 ❀ Photo of your favorite cosplay: At the left, I'm Haruhi and my friend is Mikuru, from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's just my favorite cosplay photo, not my favorite cosplay in general. ❀ Most Recent Convention: AX '09 ❀ Favorite Convention: I've only been to Comicon and AX, but I've got to say AX. ❀ Favorite Cosplay: When MALES cosplay Kanda from DGM I get really excited, but they're 90% female. Also any Studio Ghibli cosplay or particularly good Pokemon gijinka is sure to win me over. ❀ Things That Annoy You Most at Conventions: THE PRICE! :O And androgynous-looking cosplays. ❀ Favorite Part of Attending Anime Conventions: Meeting peoplez. Being silly. Photoshoots. Rooming with friends. I plan on attending one of those afterparties sometime soon ;D ❀ Additional Information: I love meeting new people. Seriously. ❀ Interesting Factoid: I can't whistle either. And I'm getting my driver's license in less than a month, assuming I pass. biggrin

❀Badge Name: Maddison
❀Number of Conventions: 5 (Only SDCC though ;o; )
❀First Convention: Comic-con '03
❀Photo of your favorite cosplay (done by yourself, or someone else): I really should take more pictures owo;; I'll put up something new when I have pics. For now have my webcam picture of my halloween White Rabbit costume (which was my favorite in that it was an original design, but a hasty execution with bad fabric)

❀Most Recent Convention: Comic-con '09
❀Favorite Convention: I can't really compare since I've only been to Comic-con. It'll be unfair to compare it to Anime Conji, so I have to wait on this until I go to AX or something.
❀Favorite Cosplay: FFIX, Clamp stuff, and KHR makes me happy c:
❀Things That Annoy You Most at Conventions: Crowds, strollers, and yeah, walking with bad shoes.
❀Favorite Part of Attending Anime Conventions: People watching, meeting people, buying cool things, and artists alley.
❀Interesting Factoid: I haven't even taken the driving class even though I'm months away from being eighteen 8D

❀Badge Name: Lee ❀Number of Conventions: 6 ❀First Convention: San Diego Comic-Con '05. ❀Photo of your favorite cosplay (done by yourself, or someone else): EDIT: I finally finished (kinda) the costume I was talking about. My cosplay of 6 from the animated movie 9. ❀Most Recent Convention: Anime Los Angeles '10. ❀Favorite Convention: ALA was lots of fun, but SDCC will always hold a special place in my heart. Haha. ❀Favorite Cosplay: Buffy the Vampire Slayer cosplays. I totally embarass myself any time I see one with all my jumping, pointing, and squealing. ❀Things That Annoy You Most at Conventions: Large crowds. I hate it when I'm trying to walk down a hallway and there are so many people that I feel like cattle. Moooo.... ❀Favorite Part of Attending Anime Conventions: Seeing all the other cosplayers. And seeing some of my favorite actors at SDCC. ❀Additional Information: Well, I'm in drama at my school, so I love performing and would be totally stoked if I ever got to be in a masquerade. ❀Interesting Factoid: Um, I can wiggle my ears.

No way! you were at ALA? We probably ran into each other! And if you really love drama you should try to get into a performing arts school like Idyllwild or LACHSA, I could even give you some tips on how to get in if you'd like.

@Pleurer: Yeah, I was at ALA. Only that Saturday though. Unfortunately, I didn't cosplay. I was just wearing a shirt with the Heartless symbol on it. Heh. Did you cosplay?
I'd absolutely love to go to a performing arts school, so any tips you have would be great!

@M00: Ah on saterday I was dressed up in this cosplay: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v421/burning__flame/lady7-1.jpg XD; I need to repair that costume it was pretty beat up after AX.
And if you're really serious about acting I highly recommend Idyllwild, the program and training there is amazing. It's an international boarding school so you live there and go to school with people from all over the world. Like my best friends there were a guy from germany, a girl from turkey and another guy from Hong Kong china.
Here's their website. http://www.idyllwildarts.org/academy/academy.html
If you audition, Howard loves people who takes risks, and who aren't afraid to make asses of themselves. To audition you'd need to prepare one contemporary monologue, and one shakespeare.
However if you want a slightly more laid back environment, that still gives you good training but doesn't make you eat, breathe, and live theatre, you should check out lachsa. Again you'd need two monologues, they usually prefer a comedy and a drama. The shakespeare one they give you.
Here's LACHSA's website. http://artshigh.org/

@Pleurer: Oh my god. I'm pretty sure I saw you and took video of you! ALA VideoThat's all video I took at ALA. Around 1:18-ish. Is that you? Wow. I'll definitely look into those schools. I'm only a junior right now, but once senior year rolls around I may try to get auditions for those.

<3 For lachsa if you enrolled as a senior you'd be in the freshman class for the theater classes, would that be alright with you?

@m00: Bwaaahhhh you should have said hey!
I'm sure you'd be great there <3 it's such a loving awesome environment. That's one of the main reasons I love performing art schools, they are just 20 times better then normal highschools as far as the drama being kept to the minimal goes.
@dream: Well you should try it first silly before you sell yourself short! Who knows, some people just naturally have a knack for it.
And bah it was really a blast! you should definately try to go next year.
