Eh. I don't really celebrate any holidays yet. I wave to them as they go by. But I think THIS website is rather neat, it says the the time/date for all the holidays. I think it's based off of the equinox's and solstice's, and the midpoints between them that make up the other holidays.

The last major Sabbat was Samhain or Halloween. This one is celebrating life and renewal...to say the least. All of the major Sabbats are key ones to do, since they are major.
BTW if you preform rites or spells or what have you it is key to preform all the Sabbats. They honor the God and the Goddess, and give thanks to them for granting us are abilities to preform spells and such. It's kinda like our payment for any spellwork we do inbetween.
I seem to find myself only preforming Sabbats, the last rite I did was....um pre Mabon in September. I think.
I think my favorite thing about Sabbats is a get to cook and thingies like that it's very fun (cept my other witchys live in California, and I live in Washington.)

I don't have a god and goddess to honor. I'm stuck somewhere between being agnostic and hard polytheist. (I've been chatting with a deity, but I'm still not sure if they're real or not..)Also on that note, do you not believe you can use your own strength to do spells? That you have to rely on a god/dess to support your magic?

I actually believe that the gift of spellwork is from the God and Goddess. Be it born into me, or grown into me. That's why some people cannot do spells or never understand it. I think that just some of us are chosen. Does that make any sense?

There are a number of Sabbats. Imbolc follows after Yule. I like to use White or pale blue candles for my altar, and benzoin or vanilla incense. Traditionally, after the ritual, one is supposed to burn the Yule greens to send Winter on its way. White wine, onions, leeks, raisin bread, bread pudding, creamy soups, milk, soy milk, etc... these can all be used when proceeding to the cakes and wine ritual.

I believe we all have the potential, just not everyone can understand how to use it, or truly believe they can use it.

I'm celebrating Imbolc tonight (blessing the anvil, offerings and prayers to Brighid, a blessing the harvest ritual), Candlemas in three days (making candles, trancework, and feasting), and Lupercaelia in a week and a half. I also celebrated Basant Panchami on the 20th of Jan., so it's been a busy couple of weeks for me!
