Basic Info Name: Saoirse Callaghan (pronounced sear-sha call-a-han) Age: 26 Birthday: December 20th Sex: Female Country of Origin: Ireland Occupation: Seamstress, tailor... Saoirse's not finnicky about titles.
Relationships Father -- Connor Callaghan, a veteran soldier and the current co-owner of a local pub with his best mate, Murphy Brennan. Mother -- Aoife Callaghan nee Byrne. Her official occupation is a midwife, but she's the woman on call for all the village emergencies that don't require a trip to the nearest hospital. Brothers -- Her oldest brother, Thomas, is a soldier. Her second oldest brother, Michael, is a drunk and a cheater to boot. Poor Lynn... Sisters -- Her older sister, Caoimhe Brennan, married Murphy Brennan's oldest and moved with him to Northern Ireland. Her younger sister Caitlin, as far as she knows, is still at home and engaged. Her two youngest sisters, twins Ashlin and Aibreann, have taken up their mother's profession and both are learning how to mend and tend to others, bless their hearts. Etcetera -- Saoirse has one aunt that she remembers growing up with, Aunt Kailey Callaghan on her father's side. She had bright red hair but unfortunately for her aunt (and unfortunately for Saoirse, if it's genetic...) her hair's begun to fall out in old age.
History and Personality By complete accident, I combined the very basic history and the slightly more thorough personality. If I need to break them into separate parts, just let me know. XD
Saoirse is a mother, not by literal terms but by habit. Being the middle child, she had often gone overlooked by her parents who were worried for the little twins and concerned for the eldest daughter. She didn't mind, and quite honestly understood the reasoning: Caoimhe wasn't bright by any means, and the twins were, well, rather rambunctious in their youth. To compensate and perhaps to gain attention for herself, Saoirse gladly took on the role of the responsible Middle Child. While her sisters commanded their parents' attention for misdemeanors of behavior, Saoirse gained their attention because she was responsible and trustworthy. She never lied, she never said 'no', and she never covered for her sisters' in their stupid attempts to do one thing or another.
Taking care of the twins had become her duty when Caoimhe had left with her husband to go to Northern Ireland, and by this point she was thirteen years old and the twins were only five. While she had never quite been a child, the sudden burden of caring for the twins made her grow up even quicker. She behaved much like her mother, indulgent to a point but quickly drawing the line when things threatened to stray too far off the map.
Saoirse had even taking up sewing because of her sisters' penchance for ripping good clothes, and she was rather good at it. It wasn't long before she was sewing up garments in the village for gold pieces. She was a very serious child; her mother often joked that she would be a spinster if only for her inability to handle a young man's privy to jokes and merriment.
When Saoirse was nineteen years old, her sister Caitlin (then seventeen) became engaged. The twins were both eleven, and often left with their mother to help mend patients and dole out medicine. Saiorse was no longer needed, and she began looking forward to leaving Ireland. With the help of a bottle of scotch, her mother, and a handy dart and map, she managed to find her way to Saltaire in Former England to start a new life.
Description Saoirse is unremarkable by most standards. She stands at 5'0 even, the shortest girl in her family. Her skin is pale and dotted with a motley of freckles across her face. Saoirse's eyes are round and expressive, a brilliant green color like her father's, and she got her tell-tale red locks from both side of the family. Unfortunately and unavoidably, her hair is curly, unruly, and impossible to do anything with, so Saoirse often just ties it back in a ponytail and leaves it to frizz or fray or whatever it bloody likes so long as it's out of her face.
She wears an odd assortment of clothes, ranging from daintily dressed for serious occasions to outright tom-boyish child for the casual affairs, but a few common accessories are almost always on her person: A raggedy tote bag that's long-since lost it's shape and instead resembles a lump of gray cloth with a shoulder hole in it, a silver chain with a ring dangling from it, and an assortment of needles hidden in one of her pockets. She refuses to wear skirts unless it's a special occasion, and much prefers trousers and cotton shirts to skirts and pretty blouses. She never stays very neat in them, anyway.

BANNER The House Under Construction! The House (in general) The house Saoirse Callaghan acquired for herself is about the size of her house in Ireland, if not a little smaller. It's two-stories tall, not including the basement-turned-workshop she uses to make clothes for her customers, and it's got a relatively old design. The bedrooms are all upstairs, and there is one full bathroom upstairs and one half-bathroom on the first floor.
The first floor of the house is a very open plan layout, combining the living room and dining room into one very big room. The kitchen can be accessed from the dining portion of the great room, and it's separated from the dining/living room by a bar. The bathroom is accessible just passed the kitchen down a narrow hallway, and for the most part while it's kept clean by the MAID, it goes without use. The kitchen is quite small but serves it's purpose in cooking for one, so Saoirse can't complain. While the MAID is programmed to do all daily tasks including food preparation, Saoirse overrides her programming when it comes to cooking more often then not. It's relaxing, she'd rather do it herself than let the MAID do it.
The second floor of the house is dedicated to three bedrooms and a relatively large bathroom. The two bedrooms that aren't being used are, of course, kept clean and tidy in case her family comes to Saltaire for whatever reason out of the blue. The third bedroom is Saoirse's master bedroom. The walk-in closet is on the small side, so she has a dresser for casual clothes like jeans and t-shirts, while all her business and 'special occasion' clothes are kept hung up. Her bed is a Queen-size canopy, and seems rather out of place in the lackluster bedroom. It was a gift from her Aunt Kailey after she'd bought the house, and it's too comfy for her to give back.
The technology within the house is pretty modern. She has a projector-TV that comes down from the ceiling along the shorter wall in the living room, and a music system installed throughout the downstairs. The MAID is a robot programmed to do basic household chores, including laundry, cleaning on two levels (straightening-up and hardcore cleaning), cooking, and the MAID also has a program to take calls directly before routing them to the telephone in Saoirse's workroom or living room, depending on the reason for the call and where Saoirse is. MAID has an organization program as well, but it goes unused; Saoirse uses her Tablet for organizing projects and consultations.
The Workshop The basement of the Callaghan house was converted into a workshop practically as soon as Saoirse had moved in. Originally it was a stone-slab sort of basement, but with the money she made in Ireland and a little financial help from her parents, Saoirse had installed synthetic hardwood and put a decorative area-rug over it to warm the room. The drag stone-walls were plastered over and then painted a darker red color. The last bit of construction done was simply asthetic: a sketching desk for designing clothes, a four-foot-tall work table installed along the longest wall from one end to the next for a multitude of things, even more free-standing work tables, Model Units, her machinery, and of course a very large wardrobe containing all of her fabrics.
The technology used in the Workshop is relatively low-tech and, by now, at least a little outdated. She has the original Model Units, or MUs, to build custom clothes off. While they're only the version 1s, and by now the version 3s have been out for months, they serve the basic purpose: All Saoirse has to do is punch in the correct measurements and the models grow, shrink, and basically fill themselves into the measurements and gender designated for perfect-fit custom clothing.
She has a unique way of measuring, as well. Her father had used Laser Rulers for as long as she could remember, but always for house projects: building tables or some such thing. It wasn't until Saoirse was older that she figured out a way to concentrate the Laser Rulers onto one area to measure that one body part. To keep things professional, she now uses the LR (not a ruler at all, actually, but a little gun that when pressed measures from point A to point B and kicks back a measurement in inches, centimeters, milimeters, or whatever other measurement she requires it to be in) to measure her clients instead of the old-fashioned measuring tape her Mother used.
What isn't known about or easy to decipher is where Saoirse hides the extra money she has saved here and there. A few older Model Units she doesn't use anymore are stuck in a permanent mold (modelled after herself; the excuse she uses in case people ask about it is the following: "These are my personal Model Units. I use these to make my own clothes, so it's just easier to leave them that way.") Really, they're hollowed out around the hip area, and that's where she stores a portion of her saved money.
The rest is kept in a safe hidden right in the center of her workroom. It's beneath a rug, and if that wasn't enough, the face of the safe is made of a special kind of metal made to blend into the scenery. Originally these safes were developed to be 'behind-the-portrait' style safes, so that the metal face would blend in with the picture covering it. She has programmed it to blend into the cement ground beneath the rug. It's incredibly hard to detect unless you know precisely where to look.

Basic Info Name: Nicolas Ideal Species: Discoglossus pictus (The Mediterranean Painted Frog) Picture: X Ideal Genotype: x*y
Known Personality Quirks -- Quite domestic; prefers preparing meals and cleaning to manual chores. -- Much to the chagrin of Saoirse, he doesn't seem all that interested in sewing or any sort of seam-work. -- Very quiet and attentive; blends well into the background until he's needed -- Likes to read; prefers historical romance to modern-day romance. -- Is rather proud of his appearance and thinks he's quite pretty -- Likes having quiet-time to himself.

Shop Credits Concepts, story and artworks created by Djubre. Templating, wording of story, fashion designer, and general B/C help from King Inversitle. Thread graphics and cert designed by the talented Digispectre.
Personal Credits Saoirse and company are my own creation, though there were little things inspired by people I know in real life, characters I know from movies and books, and random factoids I thought would be interesting to add on.
Nicolas the Frog is, essentially, COMPLETELY my own creation. His personality quirks, his actions, everything like that is my own. The art he'll have will be (c) to the artist who drew it, be it fanart or concept art or whatever.
The Banners are mine, the inventions Saoirse uses to make clothes are essentially mine but free for others to use.

Hmmm. I think I'm going to forgo the angry cuban character. I like Saoirse's concept enough, and I've already used her once with near-success. 3nodding

Your character is approved <3 As a seamstress in 3113, I would love to see some of the devices she uses for measuring customers, being so short wink She needn't have invented any devices herself, but it would be nice to see a description of things in her "sewing kit" as it were biggrin There's great creative potential here, think on it!
Also, "She burns easily and doesn't tan quite so well, so it isn't odd at all to see her sunburned face during the warmer months of the year."--Being nuclear winter, Saltaire is basically covered with snow 365 days a year. Well, in Winter, it's more like a heavier snow and in Summer it's just cold, half-formed dirty snow-mush built on the sides of the road. The place is really quite dreary actually, it's almost always cloudy (as the weather already is in England even today), so it would take quite an effort to get a sunburn.
Approved approved! I'd love to see some other characters around here order custom-made clothes from her biggrin

8D I really hope she ends up getting a customer that's like...a foot and a half taller than she is. That'd be hilarious. XD
I'll edit that bit out, too. For some reason I thought the front page said something about it coming down instead of what it actually says. xD;;
Thanks for the approval, Dju! C:
