Jareth had grown more mature over the past weeks that he took to be on his own. Around Ruka and Phaea, he felt no different than he had when he was but an Easses, so he decided to see what things would be like if he were to live on his own. He didn't enjoy being alone, but he felt that if he were to get to realize himself, he would have to do it by himself.

He had settled into an area with little other griff traffic through it. There were plenty of other creatures about, but with the onset of winter things were a bit harder to find. Jareth stood on a rocky outcropping, near the cliffside cave that he took to roosting in. The moon was nearing full in the sky. The dark sky cast a blueish hue on the snow that had fallen. He took a deep breath of the cool air and held it in his lungs for a moment before exhaling slowly. He kind of enjoyed this time of day and year. He blended in well with things.

Six Of Spades
Drusilla and her two legs had had a bit of a tiff. The dark female didn't feel like being accomodating so she took off for a bit to cool her temper and clear her throughts. The cool air racing over her feathers felt good, but she had been flying for a while and she knew she'd have to land soon. Her plummage was very similar in color to the sky but when she passed in front of the large moon, her silhouette glided across the snow below. Dru spotted a clearing large enough for a safe landing.

She angled her wings and started in a gentle spiraling descent to the earth below. It was late and she needed to find a place to at least stay the night, preferably out of the elements and wind. She didn't know if it'd snow again and though her dark coloring helped keep in some heat, she was on the slightly smaller side of adult females, as far as size went.

Jareth stretched his wings out with a big sigh. He shook himself, ruffling his feathers. A shadow passed over him then wheeled around again. He blinked at first, then looked to the sky. A darkly feathered griff was coming in for a landing in the clearing below. It looked to small to be a male and too large to be an easses. It had to be an adult female he concluded. He wondered whether or not she had seen him. He wasn't exactly making an effort to hide but with the full moon lit night sky and the shadows cast by the stones and cliffs, he blended in effortlessly.

He said nothing to the female as she made her way to land. He'd see if she'd notice him first. Otherwise, he would chime in and make his presence known. Jareth held his head high and folded his wings neatly on his back. He had an air of confidence to him.

Six Of Spades
Drusilla stretched her wings to as far as they would go. She arched her back and tipped her head back, giving a soft contented sigh at the feel of her muscles easing up from her lengthy flight. The dark female opened her purple eyes and blinked a little thrown off guard. She broke her stretch and shook her head, ruffling her feathers slightly. For a moment she could have sworn that there was a evening snow colored male griff standing on a rock outcropping.

Dru tucked her wings closely to her body and looked back up to where she thought she saw the male. Sure enough, there he was, simply gazing back at her. Her feathers remained ruffled as she spoke. "Excuse me, may I ask why you're staring at me?"

Jareth inclined his head to one side as if mulling the question over. "Why am I staring at you? Hmm. Interesting question from one who is trespasssing, isn't it?" He gave a short chuckled and laid down on his spot and folded his front paws over each other on the edge of the outcropping. "Answer me this. Why should I respond to your question when you, without so much as introducing yourself, speak to me as if I were an iritant?" He blinked as he waited for her to respond.

Six Of Spades
Drusilla gave a slight frown with a sharp exhale. This male was picking at her, acting rather condescending. She ruffled her dark plumage with her aggrivation. "Well fine! My name is Drusilla. Most call me just Dru. I apologize if I'm trespassing in your territory. It's just that I've flown for so long and for so far. I had to rest. Can't I just stay until I feel better?...Please?"

She looked up at the fair colored male. Dru smoothed her feathers down and took a deep calming breath. She didn't want to rile up the large male, so she made a note to check her still hot temper. She wasn't ready to go back to face her two legs.

Jareth rested his chin on his front feet and looked down at the female, Drusilla, below. She was easy on the eyes and the way that she looked and acted matched her story. He hummed a thoughtful sound and puffed a breath into the air. His breath clouded around his face before disappearing into the evening. "Alright. You can stay around until you're feeling one hundred percent again."

He stretched a bit then rose. Jareth hopped off of the ledge and coasted down to the ground to properly introduce himself. He trotted to a stop near her and folded his wings at his sides. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jareth. I welcome you to my humble territory, Dru."

Six Of Spades
Drusilla eyed the large male before dipping her head in greeting. "Thank you...Jareth. The showboating isn't necessary." She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "I appreciate you letting me stay here for a time. I need to right myself and," she made a sound that was a mix of a sigh and a groan, "let myself cool off. A little, anyway."

She pawed the ground, stirring up the top layer of the powdery snow. Dru looked around the clearing that she and the male stood. "So, how long have you been here? I've flown over this area before and to my knowledge it wasn't claimed. You're not a rogue are you?" The smaller dark female took a cautious step back. Her mother warned her to be wary of rogues. She didn't remember why now, but the basic message stayed with her.

Jareth straightened up some and fluffed up his feathers slightly, partially to fight the wind chill and partially in indignation. "I assure you, Dru, I do not showboat. And its my pleasure to allow you to stay. Afterall it isn't everyday I'm graced with the presence of another as interesting as you." He tipped his head to one side. "I understand the reason behind you needing to right yourself if you did fly such a long way, but cool off? What's gotten you so steamed that took off all the way out here?"

He shook his head. "Ah, well, not that its any of my business but you are staying afterall and it'd be a bit more pleasant for the two of us if we at least talked."

"How long have I been here?" Jareth looked skyward as he thought back to when he decided to settle. It really hadn't been all that long ago. A few weeks to a month or so. "Not all that long really. Around a lunar month, I suppose. Rogue? No, no, nothing like that. I struck out on my own from the female who raised me and my feral brother. I simply wanted to taste independence for myself." He nodded confidently.

Jareth looked at Drusilla. She was smaller compared to his size and if the cold was starting to get to him, it may be really bothering her. "Let's go inside to continue this. This night will only get colder from here. Follow me, if you want to get out of the wind chill." He backed up some and with a few strong beats of his wings he was air borne. Landing back up on the outcropping of stone that he had been perched on previously. The pale male turned and looked down to the female below, seeing if she would follow. "Don't worry, there is enough space up here for two. I'm not leading you off to your death or anything."

Six Of Spades
"I'm sure," Dru snorted. Her brief flare of good humor left when Jareth brought up why she needed to cool off. "I had a bit of a tiff with...someone. I needed to get away. That's all I really care to say about it right now."

"Oh good. Just checking." She shivered slightly against the bitter wind. Her dark coloring could only do so much. "Good idea." Dru took to the air once he landed back up on the landing. She came in and landed a little behind him. Truth be told she wasn't all that worried about space, but she still felt like being careful. "I'll hold you to your word on that, Jareth."

She made room for him to turn and lead the way to where ever he was taking her.

Jareth watched as Drusilla glided over to land behind him. "Again, I wouldn't worry. I wasn't raised to be a terror." He turned and moved around her before leading the way to his secluded resting place. He pressed his wings tightly to his body to fit through the path to his den. He selected it originally because it blocked the wind, but he found that further into the small cave system there was a running underground river. It didn't freeze during the winter chill so there was always some form of fresh water when most sources had turned to ice.

Once he cleared the path he entered the open area of his den. One could plainly see where he had taken to sleeping along one side of the cave as the long grasses, hay, and leaves that he brought in for bedding had been flattened from frequent use. Jareth turned and sat down in the dip in the bedding. "Well, this is my den. Make yourself comfortable." He laid down and folded his front paws. Jareth was at ease in his own den, why shouldn't he be?

Six Of Spades
Drusilla didn't have a problem fitting through the tucked away path to Jareth's den and sleeping place. Her wings were folded loosely at her sides and she only felt the occasional brush of her feathers on the cool stone walls. She stepped into the wider opening of the nest and looked around. "Cozy."

She blinked in surprise when the larger male turned to get comfortable. Her purple eyes briefly glancing towards his powerful, sturdy looking haunches. She shook her head and felt her skin slightly warm about her face. This was one of those times that she was rather thankful for her dark plummage.

"Thanks," Dru muttered at the invitation to get comfortable. She sat down along the opposite wall and layed down in a similar fashion to the fair Jareth. It felt really nice to get out of the wind and the snow. The closeness of the den, and the two 'griff now inhabiting the space warmed the air inside. It felt wonderful.

Now that she had laid down, the full effects of her long flight and heated arguement with her two legs were really hitting her. She felt exhausted. She huffed a little sigh and leaned her weight against the cool wall behind her. Dru lowered her head to rest on her front feet. She didn't really know the male across from her so she didn't want to be all that close to him. "I appreciate this. Don't let my snappiness fool you. I'm just rather tired." Her stomach growled which warrented a clearing of her throat. "And a apparently a little hungry."

Avid_RPer18
He could definitely see how tired she was now that she was in the warmth and out of the cold. "Oh, it doesn't and I can tell. We can grab some breakfast in the morning. I'd rather wait out this bit of snowfall. You came down at a good point. It only ought to get heavier tonight. The morning light will settling it out by tomorrow."

Jareth shifted himself slightly to get into a more comfortable position. "Now tell me something. What got you so steamed earlier? And answering you got in a tiff with someone isn't going to cut it. Come on. I'm not the sort to go shouting people's secrets from the mountain tops. Once entrusted with a secret, it goes with me until my death...or I forget it. Which ever comes first."

Six Of Spades
Drusilla gave a low sigh. "That sounds good." She muttered darkly about the overnight snowfall. Winter wasn't one of her favorite seasons, but she tolerated it.

She shifted a slepy purple eye in Jareth's direction. She simply looked over him for a moment as if she was gauging how honest he looked or whether or not she could trust him with such a personal matter. Dru gave a shrug and a sigh. "I suppose I could tell you." She paused to yawn then continued.

"The fight was between me and my two legs. We had a little disagreement on whether or not she should take in another 'griff. She wants to see if she can take in an Easses or adopt and egg. I'm not really interested in helping rear someone else's offspring right now." The dark female huffed into the soft leaf and grass bedding. "We both are quite hard headed as it turns out. It eventually boiled down to screaming and we each turned and went off when we felt that we had reached our boiling points..."

She absently pawed the bedding at her front feet and hugged her wings tightly to her sides. Looking back at it, the arguement seemed stupid and childish. Normally they got along great. What had pushed her over the edge that caused her to react in such a way as to snap at the mention of helping to raise a baby that wasn't hers. "Do I want to be a mother?" she mused to herself, unsure of what the true answer was.

Drusilla shook her head and looked back to Jareth. "Well, there you are. You know what was bugging me now. Happy. And you promise me that that will go with you to your grave." She normally wasn't so open with personal matters, but she had a bit of a habit of being a bit more open when exhausted and sleep was creeping up on her.
