Heavenly Snow
Checotah stood tall and majestic on a rocky outcrop as he surveyed his territory which had grow a bit due to the size of their clan. He put his beak in the air to take in scents for possible intruders that are unwelcome. His ear tuffs twitched at the slightest sounds. Checotah allowed his golden eyes to roam the landscape silently occasionally glancing towards where certain members of the clan may be.

Dawn found Phinna stretched out in her new favorite place on the westernmost side of the communal clearing, catching the first of the sun's rays on her speckled wings.
This morning, she was grooming, carefully realigning the fluffy feathers of her foreleg one by one with her beak, a meticulous task that required a great deal of concentration. Koryu was nearby, she knew, and she had set him to sit watch, so that she could do this without looking up every few moments to see if she were in any danger.
The life of a feral is never so soft as that of a tame. They have been wild for generations upon generations, with no walls, and no two-legs to protect them.
but, nevertheless, Phinna's guard was down, and she was preening.

Checotah let out a loud raptor cry and suddenly dove off his perch and soared over the small valley. His head went side to side slowly and meticulously as he searched from a bite to eat for breakfast before doing his patrol of his territory for intruders. Spotting a hare sitting by a small creek, he dove onto his unsuspecting prey and broke it's neck during the snatch up. He hungrily ate his meal before taking off for his patrol.

Satisfied that her feathers were in order, Phinna sighed and shook her head vigorously to get all he fluff in order, stretched her wings and trotted off, nodding at the skulking Koryu as she passed.
Dappling on dapples, the shadows of the forest slid over Phinna's sleek wings as she stepped into the comforting shade of the trees. finding a particularly braod one, she set her claws into the bark and leapt until she was perched upon the tallest branch that could bear her weight. There she wobbled, for a moment, looking over the river and the trees, the great spreading vista before her.

Checotah spotted something large moving in a tree and flew down lower to see what it was. He blinked in surprise to see that it was a female feral griff and the new one to Koryu's group. He tilted his head and then swiftly landed near the tree and looked up into the branches. "Why hello up there," he called.
PearlyUnicorn
Phinna smiled, pleased, and dropped gracefully from her perch, circling gracefully 'round the tree to land before him.
"Hello," she greeted Checotah, once she'd landed. "We meet again."
We meet again, indeed! she knew of this one, so startlingly large at first, that her first instinct had been to run. But, Phinna was natural about natural things, and if ever there was a male she'd seen who was half so fascinating, Phinna could not remember who he'd been.

Checotah watched her come down from the tree and land. He smiled at her. "Yes...we meet again....Phinna was it?" he asked politely. He was admiring her lovely feathers and interesting eyes.
PearlyUnicorn
"Ah, so what is a fine large male like yourself doing so far into the forest?"
Phins smiled, turning her head to look at him with one eye, then the other, teasingly. She was flirting and knew it, and even though some part of her snorted with laughter, the rest of her was focused upon the male in front of her.

Checotah watched her for a moment. "Well...I was patrolling my territory which has a good chunk of forest....I spotted you from high up in the sky...." He did take notice of her behavior and tilted his head. "Since I'm the alpha of my group I make sure our borders are safe from dangerous intruders."
PearlyUnicorn
Phinna blinked, tilting her ear-tufts back and doing her best to look as dainty and unthreatening as possible.
"I am a danger on you borders, then, to have attracted your attention?"

Heavenly Snow
"You? A danger? Ah you are too lovely, but a rose too has thorns," he spoke to her in a husky purr that only a dominant adult male could pull off. He was truly all male and handsome. Despite his appearance he was not vain.

Phinna's eyes went wide and her nares blushed dark. she looked up with him with a mix of pleasure and worry. Always the practical one, as any feral might claim, she would wait not longer for what she so clearly wanted and with no further preamble dipped her beak to nibble delicately at the feathers of his neck, preening them.
"My thorns will not p***k you."
"My thorns will not p***k you."
Heavenly Snow
He chortled with delight. "Ah...so this rose I may pick as my own?" he cooed at her. He seemed to have puffed up a bit bigger with pride and delight at having caught the attentions of such a lovely female griff.
PearlyUnicorn
Phinna laughed and preened a bit more, before turning and coyly offering her own neck for a return caress.
"It has been long since this rose had the chance to have an admirer all to herself."

Checotah tilted his head in curiosity at her remark. "Oh?" and began to preen her feathers as well, being gentle and giving each feather special attention.
