darksithya Sesshomaru was in the deep woods, it was winter, and the ground was covered in a thick coating of light snow, and even Sesshomaru, whith his light step, could be track easily by the tell-tale snow. PearlyUnicorn "Hey!" Came a voice across the snow, echoing uncouthly on the firm snow and ice-rimmed branches. "Sesshomaru, wait! I have something to ask you!"And then came Koryu, wallowing and bounding through the snow, wings akimbo and the feathers of his shoulder flopping everywhere. His gait was to Sesshomaru's what a wandering moth's is to a stately butterfly. darksithya Sesshomaru stood firmly in the snow, his wings half open, catching the falling snow. As he watched Koryu, he though of a large dog, bounding along, but he couldnt help but find it oddly amusing.
"And what might that be?" He asked calmly, his voice holding little emotion.[/color PearlyUnicorn Koryu slid to a clumsy halt at Sesshomaru's side. The snow here was powdery and light rather than wet, very deep and bitterly cold. "Sesshomaru, I...uh..." the black Hippogriff panted, and he dipped his head. In another life Koryu might have been an Alpha, but his youth defeated him, and Sesshomaru was too imposing to not require at least a cursory head-bob of submission. "Well, It's not...really so urgent, I guess I just....I mean," He coughed once and cleared his throat, needlessly nervous. "How's the leg?"darksithya Sesshomaru was suprised by Koryu, and gracfuly, he returned the head-bob, befor replying. "It is fine, tho I must ask why so concerned?"
Sesshomaru was unused to others asking how he was, so was of course cautious, and curious. PearlyUnicorn Koryu bobbed his head again, irrationally pleased at Sesshomaru's expression. "Well, the truth is that I'm the one who brought your...erhm...your leg to the attention of the Mystics and...I just...I'm glad you decided to take it."darksithya Sesshomaru was defidently suprised by this peice of information, but he wasnt mad in the least, which was also suprising, since he hated it wen others pitied him, or made note of that handycap.
"Thank you Koryu." He replied not shure what to say. Sesshomaru was unused to saying 'thank you', and anything short of this, probably wouldnt even come close to warenting it. PearlyUnicorn Koryu could feel his nares flushing hotly, and smiled into the silence. "You are most welcome."The silence stretched on, more awkward with every heartbeat, until Koryu ducked his head, turning to gaze at the branch of a nearby pine as if it were the most fascinating thing in the world. "...if it's not too nosy to ask, where are you headed, this morning?"darksithya "Dont know." He replied, looking off in to the forest of aelaer, that seemed to go on forever. Sesshomaru had the habbit of often times just wandering off, for days on end, in no real direction, untill he got bored, or found something of interest. "What of you?" He asked, befor the silence could thicken once more,as he watched Koryu. PearlyUnicorn "I don't know either," he admitted, ear-tufts fluffed in embarrassment. "I hadn't much thought past talking to you..."He sighed and shifted a bit, nervous talon kneading the icey ground below his forefeet. Koryu caught his eyes sliding appreciatively along the sleek contour of Sesshomaru's neck and shook his head. "I...I could always go back and lay under the shrub. It's not as if I'm much missed, so it hardly matters what I do." darksithya Sesshomaru watched Koryu, so far this griff had managed to suprise him twice in one day, without geting on his nevers, so prehaps it was curiousity to learn more of him that caused him to speak his next words.
"You could come with me for a ways, if it is true no one misses you, then no one should notice you gone a while longer."
Sesshomaru shook his mane free of the snow that had gathered on it, and without waiting for a reply from koryu, started off in a random direction. PearlyUnicorn Koryu nodded and followed as gracefully as he could, given the depth of the snow, and that he was not at all used to moving with grace. It was quiet, and peaceful, and though he hated to shatter the serene softness of the snow, Koryu could not help but think that it was somehow expected that one of them should say something, continue the conversation. He swallowed, watching the rythmic movements of the snow around Sesshomaru's haunches, as waves in the wake of a slim sea-creature, and said nothing. His mind was blank and empty, filled with the silence and the snow of the moment, and he could think of nothing to say that could fill the expectation of words. darksithya Sesshomaru made hardly a sound as he walked through the deep snow, but he found the sounds of Koryu oddly following along oddly soothing. The silence in the air was tick, and each sound seemed to echo off the snow for miles on end, but he was to deep in thought to pay much mind. He wondered what Koryu thought of him, not in the sense of a school girl pondering a crush, but in general his veiws of him, and what he hmself even thought of Koryu. PearlyUnicorn Time untold passed, like wind through his wings. Kopryu swallowed. They were alone, and he was very aware of that fact, far from where the tame ones usually hunted, in the nothing land between the clearing around the safe portion of Aelaer and the deeper, broad-leaf forests to the north, the great vast wilds that the ferals ruled. It was so quiet, and they were so alone, together. Later, he would laugh at himself for such stupid thoughts. "You have...always been so sure of yourself, Sesshomaru."For a moment, Koryu wondered who had spoken, then realized with shame that it had been himself. darksithya Sesshomaru paused, at first he wondered if it was his mind playing tricks, but then he realized it was Koryu, as the words echoed in his ears.
"No......' Sesshomaru turned to face Koryu, studying Koryu's face for a while. "I even now am not shure of myself, but....I do not fear death. PearlyUnicorn "...you seem to be so sure, to those around you. Even when you were first hatched, you did not want the help of anyone."Koryu snorted at himself, this strange, wistful tone he found himself using. "Maybe you don't," He admitted, ruefully, "Maybe you never did, but I did, though I never got it. Faugh, listen to me. I must sound like a weepy easses. I never did know when to shut my beak." darksithya Sesshomaru listened to Koryu, wondering how difrent their lives had been, and how odd two so difrent should be crossing paths like this.
"I never wanted their help, because the thought of becoming dependant apon others seemed a worse fate the death.....to be bound to the will of others, forced to be molded in to something so difrent, just to surivive, is not surivivng." Sesshomaru looked up at the dark clouded sky, raining down white snow relentlessly. His amber eyes searched them for answers, he knew they did not hold. "Why did you seek help, you can hunt, gather and fly, sme as any, so what ell was there...?" He was unshure why he said such things, but he did wish to learn more of Koryu, he was the first griff he had found to be complexed, and hard to rea, so prehaps that was why he let him delv so deep in to his thoughts, his worries, and past. PearlyUnicorn Koryu shook his head. Who knew, Sesshomaru might even care. "From the moment I was hatched, I was considered trouble. I was not to be spoken to, nor played with, and after a time, not even to be allowed near enough to see others my age. I was lonely, I still am I suppose."He was silent for a few breaths, thinking hard bitter thoughts until his wings trembled. "Sitting under a bush is the only place I'm not being mocked, but it's very rare anyone will think to look at me. My closest friends are those too young to know better. If it weren't for my talents as a shaman, I'm certain that there'd be no purpose to my hatching."darksithya "Maybe then we do have something in common, just far defirent surcomstances." Sesshomaru was begining to understand Koryu, or atleast he thought so, and he wondered why the gods had been so curel, he would have loved Koryu's fate, to simply be left alone, to do things of his own acord without the eyes of others always on him, and to think Koryu would have loved his fate, others always around him, pitying him, adoring him, and constantly trying to help him. PearlyUnicorn Koryu surveyed Sesshomaru's expression with dismay. It was not what he'd intended. "That's the truth. I just...wish to not be so utterly alone. Even one friend who did not eventually grow old enough to scorn me would be enough."darksithya "Do not pity me....and I shal not scorn you, or leave you." Sesshomaru said softly, his voice was quiet as he spoke. The idea of of having Koryu around, from time to time, oddly, did not seem like such a horrible thought. In every way both were difrent as the sun and moon, but the sun and moon have many things in common, if one is willing to dig past the surface. PearlyUnicorn Koryu smiled, pleased, and the feathers of his neck, puffed with his pleasure. with his odd, splay-legged grace, and the grin on his beak, his expression could only be described as adorable, in every fashion. "Who could pity you, Sesshomaru? You're the best of us."darksithya Sesshomaru found himself with a soft smile on his face, it seemed Koryu had insantly changed from depressed, and scorned, to a bright happy easse. "I am far from it, but such things should matter not.." Sesshomaru decided that for now, he would let the smile thing slide, he trusted Koryu enuff not to go runing about braging. It was odd, the one griff he had never befor today even given two thoughts about, had in a single afternoon earned his trust. PearlyUnicorn Koryu whistled a derisive note, and tossed his head, doing his best to smooth ruffled feathers and dignity. He'd seen the smile, and because of it couldn't seem to rid himself of an answering one. "You are still very strong, then." He temporized, sincerely, coming abreast of Sesshomaru. "Even you can't deny that."darksithya Sesshomaru nodded in agreement, befor taking a step closer, and helping Koryu preen down his fluffed feathers. "I wont argue with you on that, just as you cant argue that you're fluffly." He said teasingly. PearlyUnicorn "Well, of course I-"Koryu stilled under Sesshomaru's preening, and tried to resist the urge to turn his beak into the other's neck. It was so intimate a touch that Koryu immediately distrusted it. Not a soul had ever preened Koryu's feathers, and it was all he could do to hold back the small sounds that choked his throat. Whether they would be of pleasure or distress, it was impossible to know. darksithya Sesshomaru contiued gently preening him, trying to sooth Koryu in to trusting him.
"I promised I would not leave you, or scorn you..." He said gently, hoping his words would work. PearlyUnicorn A strangled whimper squeaked past the tight jaws that kept Koryu's beak closed. He trembled in every feather now, fighting a losing battle against Sesshomaru's gentle, soothing touch and his warm, soothing voice. "I am afraid," He finally admitted, haltingly. "I...am not worth..."But then he finally relented and turning his head, nipped gently at the nearest feathers of Sesshomaru's neck. darksithya Sesshomaru gave Koryu's neck a light nuzzle, wen Koryu started preening him. "If you mean you're not worth it, that is the voice of others speaking for you." .......You are worth as much as I." He whispered, enjoying the moment of intematcy. PearlyUnicorn Koryu whimpered again, and pressed close beside Sesshomaru, uncertain of what best to do, but pleased to simply stretch his neck as he could to give and receive. "I...I've never...been like this, before, Sesshomaru." He murmured softly against the neck of his...friend? Lover? Beloved? "N-not with anyone."

darksithya Sesshomaru enjoyed the contact, but it was confusing. Did he love Koryu? Could he love him? He sighed softly at Koryu's words. "Nor have I..." He replied. PearlyUnicorn He almost laughed, almost. It was a little funny after all, Sesshomaru, so seemingly confidant, and yet he was in the same position that Koryu was. Silence raigned and for a long moment Koryu entertained thoughts of the future, of a future that was more than the bottom of a shrub until old age, and one that included Sesshomaru. "...I...I do care for you," He whispered, unconciously mirroring Sesshomaru's thoughts. "I don't know any further than that. I hardly know what l-love is."darksithya Sesshomaru was also unshure what love ment, he had hardly ever been told such things, other then by other griffs, oogling over how cute he was as a easse, he wasnt even entire shure if he knew how to love.
"I've never known anyone ells that could do this to me....."
Sesshomaru breathed deeply Koryu's sent, loving it, and every feather on him. "I dont think I could ever part with you..." PearlyUnicorn Koryu let out a soft sound, something between a pleased burble and a sound that was a bit more shocked and primal. He was shorter that Sesshomaru, even standing; a legacy of a youth without hunting lessons and only the meat an equally untrained two-leg could bring in, and the way that his while companion loomed over him made Koryu want nothing so much as to curl up under Sesshomaru's wings and mane, and let the world fade away. His knees suddenly felt weak and he sagged, the weight of his body crunching the deep snow. "So then...then we stay together. It will be nice to have someone to h-help me glare at Buckbeak when he says cruel things," Koryu murmured, trying for a bit of humor, though his voice trembled with emotion, rather ruining the effect. darksithya Seshomaru nodded, and wrapped his wing around Koryu, their bodys pressed together. "I'll always be there to help torment Buckbeak, or keep you company under the hedge." He said reashuringly. Sesshomaru wished for noting more then to just stay here with Kory forever, watching the snow fall softly around them, far away fro the scornful words, or over pity of others. PearlyUnicorn Koryu stretched his neck a little and, very daring, preened the feathers just under Sesshomaru's jaw, where the blood flowed near the surface. A more intimate gesture there was not to be had, unless there was actual mating to be involved. His chest swelled at the warm feeling of Sesshomaru's wings around his, and Koryu sighed, utterly content at being protected. "...thank you." He replied softly, voice reverant. darksithya Sesshomaru tenced for a moment, but he let out a soft sigh and relaxed. At this point, he didnt care if others didnt see fit of them, he didnt care if this was anything other then what it was. He was with a 'griff he had never expected to be with, in a way he would never have guessed, and he loved every moment of it, wishing it to last forever, for time to just forget them, and let the rest of the world go on, leting them fade from it.
"I love you....." Sesshomaru whispered, his voice hardly above the sound of a snow flake falling tot he frozen ground. PearlyUnicorn Koryu, lifted his head from the warm place where it had been nestled against Sesshomaru's shoulder to look at him, trying to gauge from the always careful neutrality of his face how sincere he was. "I...I think I love you, too," he whispered, as afraid the words would break if spoken too boldly. darksithya Sesshomaru was skilled with words, and often used proper, if not a hair old fashion grammar, but of all the words, in allt he tongues of the world, he found saying those words to be the hardest, and saying them to Koryu, onl made them a thousand times more hard, but to hear them spoken to him, made it seem all so simple, and perfect. PearlyUnicorn Koryu took Sesshomaru's silence as a good sign and nuzzled his head back against the sweet curve of his beloved's shoulder, trying to find that place that had been so comfortable before. Finding it, he settled, leaning fully half his slim weight against the other, one wing tucked tightly across not Koryu's own back, bu Sesshomaru's, while the rest of him was hidden under a deceptively soft curtain of red and white. It was all so perfect... ...until... "So there you are, you fat, lazy, good for nothing."Phinna's voice cut like a glass file across Koryu's nerves and he went from drowsy contentment to tense-trembling unhappiness in a bare heartbeat. darksithya Sesshomaru was suddenly woken from what seemed like the best dream he had ever had, but Phinna's harsh words. He glared her down menicingly, his wing still protectivly over Koryu.
"And what do you want?" He asked cooly, but his words held well hidden dagers, at the rude awakening by reality and Phinna. PearlyUnicorn Koryu's body was pressed against Sesshomaru's, but not with the lazy, pleasurable leaning of before, but more as if he were seeking asylum, unwilling to be parted. "She's just here to use me for slave labor.""I most certainly am not. I'm pregnant, you stupid runt, I can't very well hunt for myself."Koryu hissed at her, but the expression of anger was tinged with resignment, and it was obvious that he would give in to her, soon. Sesshomaru's new love was not the alpha here and both his reaction and Phinna's offhand insults made that very clear. darksithya Sesshomaru's face took on its cold trade mark expression, feeling Koryu tense under him, wishing his wing could protect him from everything, but allas, it could not.
"You may very well be pregnant, but last I cheaked, ferals shared, for wen such things should happen." He said coldly, remember what Jigoku and Hayln had thought him of ferals, and their ways. PearlyUnicorn Now Phinna hissed, and at the sound, Koryu shrunk back, ever-so-slightly against Sesshomaru. He was clearly intimidated by this female. "You will not tell me what I can and cannot do, especially with those whom I have leadership over." she spat, feathers puffed out angrily. Feral females were not the sort to be bossed around by a mere male, and Phinna, in all her pregnancy-induced glory, was no exception. darksithya Sesshomaru seemed all together unimpressed by Phinna. He knew she could be a forced to be reckoned with, but at the moment, atleast in his eyes, she was a moody pregnant 'griff.
"I wasnt telling you to do anything, I was making observation. Tho might I also ad, if you were truely hungry, there are still berries that grow through the winter."
Sesshomaru watched the feral female, giving her the look he might give a easse having a temper tantrum. He was not on to put up with atitude from anyone, no matter the curcomstances.

PearlyUnicorn Koryu looked up at Sesshomaru, eyes wide. Sesshomaru was arguing for him! "Sesshomaru...I-" he began, gently. "Shut up," Phinna snapped, annoyed "Useless male, you can't do anything right."Very daring, Phinna took a few strides forward to glare more directly at Koryu, a clear challenge to fight, ignoring Sesshomaru entirely. Koryu shrank back a little, arching his neck like a turtle to pull back into the dark safety under Sesshomaru's wing. darksithya Sesshomaru was defidently not likeing the efect Phinna was having on Koryu, so giving Koryu a reashuring nuzzle, he got to his full height, which was about a half or more foot shorter then Checota.
"Normaly those that are forced to rely apon others, would find it in their best inerest to be 'kind' to those so kind enuff, as to hunt for them." Sesshomaru's voice was cold, like daggers made of ice, and his glare was far worse. PearlyUnicorn Phinna stepped back a bit, not really expecting physical resistance, but screeched defiantly anyway. It was clear that with any further threats she'd probably flee, intimidated, but there was no evidence of that in her expression. Left cold in the snow, Koryu gave a slight wark of surprise, and blinked, watching the drama play out from behind Sesshomaru's very distracting tail end. darksithya Sesshomaru continued to glare the female down, but decided it wouldnt be best to start picking fights with Koryu's alpha, due to the fact pregnancy didnt last forever, and he realy didnt want to deal with her.
"I would sugest being nice to tho that follow you. The mutany would be harsh." PearlyUnicorn Phinna hissed and turned away, trotting quickly out of sight with a tense glare that promised vengeance. Koryu's head went down, as if trying to hide. "...she scares me."darksithya "I made you a promise that no one would hurt you like that agein." Sesshomaru said reashuringly, as he pressed their beaks together. PearlyUnicorn Koryu murred softly, a sound both pleasant and pleased and hauled himself off the ground so that he could reach to slide his beak loving along Sesshomaru's and into the thick feathers near his ear. "luff foo," he informed him, voice husky and soft near Sesshomaru's ear, muffled by a mouthful of delicately sensative feathers. darksithya Sesshomaru smirked softly at Koryu's muffled words, finding them adorably cute, in the way only Koryu could make them. "Luff you to." He said teasingly his voice soft but deep. PearlyUnicorn Koryu burbled softly, like a pleased hatchling and spent a moment more preening Sesshomaru. "...It's all so much at once," He chuckled, "...first I am alone, and now I am not...and protected and loved...I feel like I should be less tired, it's hardly evening, after all, and all I've done is talk with you."darksithya Sesshomaru a soft sigh of happyness, at the sound Kory made, and his preening.
"Its been a long day.......But we have forever to talk now." PearlyUnicorn Koryu nodded against Sesshomaru's neck, and nuzzled him firmly on last time, drawing away. "...do you want to find a good place to sleep, then? W-we..." Koryu faltered, nares flushed dark with his embarrassment and desire. "...we could...sleep. There, together, side-by-side. I...mean...you know....wake up to each other?"darksithya Sesshomaru smiled at Koryu, and nodded. "Yes, that sounds nice." Sesshomaru preened behind Koryu's ear, befor haking the snow off him, and looking around for where a shelter might be. PearlyUnicorn Koryu laughed, catching some of Sesshomaru's discarded snow on his wings and shaking roughly to get rid of it. Jauntily, he trotted to the nearest thicket, one so thick that the branches could not be seen through, despite being bare. He bent and dug, rump in the air, fore claws working smoothly until Koryu had exposed the bare empty place beneath the bushes that was free of snow and well-cushioned with dead leaves. He stood back, proudly, and smiled as if to say 'see how useful I am?' darksithya "It seems you're proven Phinna wrong all by you're self." Sesshomaru softly smiled agein, as he made his way in to the ccleared space, which was just big enuff for two 'griffs. PearlyUnicorn Koryu wriggled in after Sesshomaru the small den all ringed around with high drifts of snow that made the place warm with their deep closeness. There wasn't enough space for Koryu to turn around and so he rested his head on the nearest convenient soft surface, the smooth expanse of Sesshomaru's flank.

darksithya Sesshomaru put his wing over Koryu, befor resting his own head on Koryu's flank, the den was warm and soft, and Sesshomaru fell in to a light sleep.
