Mystics were an ancient breed, and had seen many ancient things.
Long and far were the shores of the mainland from the great island that held the city of Aelaer's ruins and the now-wild forests surrounding the once-great city.
Deep, deep within the now plague-ensconced center of the city is their stronghold, once pure and shining, now fouled with the sickness that doomed the great city. Now the Mystics rule from a circle of stones well away from the corruption, weakened though their power may be, the Mystics and their Hippogriff counterparts are not yet dead.
And the circle-stones of their newest sanctum now glow with the renewed resonance of their ancient power.
Dawn. The sun grays the black sky, glowing with diffuse glory into the ever fogged and misty morning of the Place of the Mystics. One Mystic stands forth, tall and slim, a pillar of pale silk and silver hair against the grey-silver gloom. He raises his hands in greeting, or prayer.
"Come forth, one who came from the egg with a lack that cannot be missed," He boomed, voice soft and deep, filling the small space with neither echoes nor wavered strength. "For here we have a gift, on your day of fledging."
...and then he was silent, waiting, for the young one calling himself "Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru had traveled for a long while now, far far from the reaches of the others 'griffs. He had started his jouerny to escape to calm and quiet, but the deturmination with in him, to prove he did not need all his legs, had drove him so far.
From within the shade of the thick tall oaks, he heard a voice call out.
His ears perked at the sound, he was cautious, 'what could this two-leg hold' he wondered, befor deciding to set out after the voice. He limped along, through the thick trees, the missing leg did little to stop him, he had even found a way to lessen to 'hopeing' wen he walked, but it also did little to help him, his only way of hunting by himself, being fishing, and even then, a slick rock could be his down fall.
Silently emerging from the trees, he stared at the tall elf, with his cold eyes, but curiousity was also sparked within the amber orbs as he aroached.

The Mystic looked down upon the Easses with eyes that were more shine than sight, though there could be no doubt that he saw the young Sesshomaru.
"You have come." He said, simply, and made an inclusive gesture with one wide-sleeved hand. "Now, come further. We of the Mystic mist, who made your kind in the ancient days would speak with you."

Sesshomaru followed cautiously, he felt the elf ment no harm, but he was still weary as ever.
"And why would you speak to me? If you are of the elder race of elvs, then a easse should hold little interest for you." he questioned.

"The Tikti, born to the summer drought, has never seen such a flood as the spring rains," Replied the Mystic, crypticly. "So too are you. In your young life, you have not seen a Mystic, and so you know nothing of us. Come, we witnessed your saving, and purified your egg. We watched as you hatched into this world."
The elf fell silent as he passed into the inner ring of circle-stones that marked the central sanctum of the Place of the Mystics. He paused, staring as if at nothing, for a long moment, just inside that perimeter.
"You do not have all that you should have been born with. This is...an error. Our error. It is a result of the plague that touched you, even still unborn."

Sesshomaru listened intently to the elf as he followed, stoping beside the perimiter, befor cautiously steping in to it. He took in all the information he had learned for a moment, befor he spoke agein.
"Why do you bring me here, now of all times, and to what reason." He asked, as he looked about the inner most sacntum, not shure what to expect.

the Mystic said nothing more, expression cold and unreadable as Sesshomaru's he gestured with one hand toward the center of the circle. The ever-present fog was thickened here, and the sun a mere twinkle against it's encompassing gloom. A shadow within a shadow was the diadem there.
...though upon the diadem, a slowly pulsing light?
Long silence in the gloom, for straining eyes to try and see.
"It is there," the Mystic replied at length, "Our boon to you, if you would have it."

Sesshomaru slowly aproached the center, cautiously looking in to the fug, unshure what to exspect within. He glanced bck to the elf, after a moment of sudying the fog, whatever was in it, was ubviously not going to leap out and attack, but whatever it was was a creature, the likes of which he had never seen, heard or smelled, tho was it dead?
For a moment longer he thought, unshure, but whatever may come, it probably couldnt hinder him more, and it might possibly help. "I shal take it." he said simply, unshure of what ells to say.

The Mystic nodded as if the light burden of his head were a great weight of stone.
"Let you then be fledged, and this boon given unto you."
And the fog wisped away as if tempest-blown, though there was no wind, the sun blasting, full-force of daylight upon that which had been only twilight and lingering gloom before.
"Now fly, Sesshomaru, and walk upon the world with new legs."

...and in a flurry of feathers and solar light, the boon was taken and a new Hippogriff came into his own.
