Lily saw buck, and rolled over, but didn't get up, insead she began to pluck at more of her feathers dejectedly.
Buckbeak notices Lily and moves over to her and see's that she's acting weird. "Hey.....what's up? Your plucking feathers..."
Lily looked up at him pain in her eye's, "Go back to Phea Buckbeak, shes much prettier then me. I can see why you like her.." She stood up, but her legs were cramped from inactivity, and she fell back into the dirt silently. "She will give you wonderful Easses." Her voice was becoming more choppy as she talked, and tried to hold in tears that threatened to constrict her throat.
Buckbeak got a funny look on his face. "Who's Phea?" -had never met that griff yet-
Lily looked up at him, her eyes only getting more pained by the second. "Dont pretend Buckbeak, Koryu told me all about you courting her. Just go already! I get it ok, Im ugly, and stupid, and not good enough." Her tallons dug into the ground, as she turned her head, and began to pull large clumps of feather's out with barely a twinge, tears streaming down her face.
Buckbeak looked back at Bella and then back at Lily...."Koryu doesn't know what he's talking about...he probably just did that to make you cry. Why do you think Bella and Gypsie don't hang around him. He isn't very nice at first....or he's just being spiteful."
Lily stopped plucking at her feather's, true buck had never givin her flowers, but she thought it was because, maby he haddn't liked her after all. She shook her head, "So he was lieing... Promise?" Her voice qwivered as she asked.
Of course HE lied...I'm trying to figure out why you rather listen to him than me at the moment...." Buckbeak said a bit irritated. Not at her, but at Koryu for being a @$$ again...
At the irritation in his voice she cringed, and hung her head against her chest, silent now, and unmoving but for the tinest whisper. "I'm sorry..."
"It isn't you...it's him...." Buckbeak murmured.
Lily folded her wing's over the spots she had pulled her feather's from, and lay her head down upon the earth, her Violet eye's watching him, still pained, as she crooned softly from deep in her throat.
Buckbeak chortled at her from where he stood. He was keeping an eye out for the dumb nut who hurt the griff he loved. Yes...he loved her.
Lily was comforted by the farmilliar chortle, and her eye's didn't seem so pained. A sad smile crossed her face, as she turned to look up at him. Mimicking his chortle softly, and affectionately.
Buckbeak was suddenly closer and nipping at her feathers that still seemed a bit messy from Koryu's attempt at rattling her.
Lily closed her eye's and placed her beak against his neck as he nipped at her feather's, she didn't even want to think of what she looked like right now. She pressed her wings tightly against the bald spots near her flank's, and nipped tentivly at his feathers.
Buckbeak finished and then glanced around before laying down next to her protectively.
Lily her eyes, and took a deep breath, before saying softly. "I love you Buckbeak." Her voice hesitant, on how hed take her confession.
Buckbeak merely smiled and dipped his head. "I love you too Lily...don't ever forget that."
Lily smiled, and cooed, softly, and happly nuzzling closer her eye's dritfing closed, and her body drifting into sleep.
