Jeremy is your basic everyday tree-hugging marine-loving kid. He never thought much about being a shaman until he met Gailan his spirit companion, but never trained hard enough to be considered to be part of the "Big Leagues" His calm and relaxed nature gives him the ability to blend in every crowd , since his only two distiguishing features are his height and blue eyes. Jeremy shows signs of great intelligence, insight and shaman potential but perfers to hide it.
Gailan was the greatest hunter of his time. He led a hunt to take down a Cachalot (Sperm Whale) which has only ever been succesful in Orca history twenty times. Renowned for his fierce fighting style Gailan became a name forever in Orca history. After he was killed by Native Americans. Humbled by the relazitiation that he wasn't the best hunter in the world he couldn't rest until he knew how to become the most powerful ever. Shortly after his death the second best hunter in the pod mated with his widow. His son angered by Gailan's wife's scandalous nature attempted to prove his strength against humans. He died and couldn't settle because he needed to know why the humans were so strong. Gailan learned how to fight like a human with spears. When Gailan met Jeremy he learned that a true hunter needed heart. After he met Jeremy who defeated a shaman who was trying to force the father and son into being spirits. Gailan and his son realized that heart was all it took to make the distinction between a good hunter and a great one. His son went to heaven but Gailan who was now humble, serious, and simple decided to protect Jeremy as his Master.
Jeremy found out later that the shaman he defeated was part of a Shamanic Cult that worshiped ocean creatures. Because a weak shaman defeated one of their members the disgrace caused Jeremy to be the target of two attempted assasinations. One that Jeremy actually fought and won while the other one Jeremy was saved by his old Algebra teacher, and a couple of other shamans. Jeremy's best friend could see ghost because he hung out with him a lot. His brother is a shaman who trained him until he decided that Jeremy needed advanced training against his will.
Jeremy's brother 's spirit is a fire/lightning elemental, and his father's spirit is Forseti Norse god of law, which helps him because he's lawyer.
