Tristam Lockhart Lockhart moved from the shadows of the trees into the moonlight bathed clearing. His milky eyes stared up towards the night sky, ruffling his feathers black wing feathers, he sat down. Looking like ghost under the bright moonlight that glow off his white feathers and silvery beak, he started to preen. Mildly wondering for something else to do. PearlyUnicorn Night, ah night, deep and darkling...Koryu cursed his white legs every time he was forced to stalk rabbits at night. Sneaky, sneaky he stalked, branches sliding over the slick curves of his tightly folded wings...
...wait....wait...pounce!
"Ch'kaahh! Missed!" Koryu grasped at thin air and the rabbit bounded off into the underbrush, leaving Koryu sprawled inelegantly at the edge of a clearing....staring directly at a certain blue-eyed Hippogriff. Tristam Lockhart The sudden sound made Lockhart looked towards the other male, folding his wings neatly against his body. Rising to his feet, he gave a soft smile. "Having problems hunting?"
PearlyUnicorn Snorting he backpedaled, scrambling to a position that looked perhaps a bit less like a dog beggin to be played with. He hissed annoyedly to mask his embarassment.
"No! I am not having trouble. I was merely....practicing." Tristam Lockhart Keeping his soft smile, he chuckle gently. "Oh? I am sorry. Of course you are not having trouble. After all, your colors must make it easy to hunt, even more at night." He gave a true smile, approaching again. "Being mostly white, I have a bit of trouble myself." PearlyUnicorn Koryu inched back a half-pace, suddenly nervous. "So? Hunt in the snow. You'll eat fine. there's...erhm...plenty of food up in the snowy mountains, anyway." Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled. "But the snowy mountains don't hold much company...." He grinned as he walked closer still. PearlyUnicorn Now Koryu's eyes went wide and he took a hasty step back.
"What do you want from me, then? I don't have anything to eat!" Tristam Lockhart Lockhart laughed and smiled. "Who says I am looking for food?" PearlyUnicorn "I...you...we're talking about...stop it!" He stammared, making a break to gain a few yards on the slowly advancing Lockhart.
"....What the heck do you want, then?" Tristam Lockhart Staring at him, he chuckled and walked after him. "Just some company." He smiled. "Is there something wrong with that?" PearlyUnicorn "You never just want company....you want to," Koryu accuses, backing up slowly as he talks. he pauses, stumbling over a loose bit of wood. "...molest people, or something." Tristam Lockhart "Awww....I like to tease, but not molest...." He smiled still walking after the younger male. "Besides, maybe I do just want company." PearlyUnicorn "Ha you...uhm...well," he swallowed and jumped whn his rump touched a tree. Trapped!
"Well, I'm here, then....erhm...so you have company?"

Tristam Lockhart Peeking over the other male, he could see the tree trapping him there. He gave a soft chuckle and smiled. "It would seem so....so tell me...why do you seem afraid of me?" PearlyUnicorn "N-no reason!" Koryu squawked hastily. "I'm not afraid! not of you!" Tristam Lockhart The white adult grinned as he stepped closer. "Yet you see rather afraid..." PearlyUnicorn "Well, you see, I'm not, so," Koryu wheezed, scrunching his body, panting, panicked. "So, get away!" and he lashed out, kicking with both hooves, and twisting, trying to win free. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart backed away slightly. "hmmm..." His eerie eyes watched him closely before he backed away further. "As I said...I am just looking for company...." PearlyUnicorn Koryu skitters back slightly, nervy and nervous, warily watching, half in moonlight, and half in the dapples shadow of the underbrush.
"I'm not so sure about what sort of company you're looking for." Tristam Lockhart Turning away, his tail feathers ruffled. "Just company...." He spoke softly as he looked over his shoulder. "What do you believe? that I am just looking to jump everything that moves?" PearlyUnicorn Koryu flushed, exposed skin at his nares darkening slightly. "You...do tend to....jump on people..."
Awkwardly, he sat back on his haunches, hooding his wings in a way that mad ehim look less like a hippogriff and more like a broody raven.Nares: the exposed skin around the nostrils, near the beak Tristam Lockhart Lockhart chuckled. "On people...jeez...I have only jumped and traumatize little old Nevermore...I haven't jump anyone else. Well..besides chasing you around."
PearlyUnicorn Koryu flushes more at this, actuely embarrassed. "I...erhm....well."
And he looked up, red eyes shining in the moonlight. "...you...erhm....want to talk, then? Have conversation?" Tristam Lockhart "Well...I thought we were having a conversation...." He chuckled and sighed. "Could I do anything to make you feel better, Koryu? You seem awfully...jumpy." PearlyUnicorn He smiles, sheepishly, ducking his head and letting his wings fold more naturally, relaxing. "I...I'm not sure. I guess you...I must just be hungry, tonight." Tristam Lockhart Lockhart tilted his head and nodded. "I see.....Then I guess I should let you be and let you go on in your huntings..." PearlyUnicorn "No, wait, I..." He started, head coming up. "...ehm...n-nevermind. Look, I'm not really all that hungry. Besides, you saw it, I suck at catching anything worth eating." Tristam Lockhart "You just failed once....not every hunt is successful." He looked around. "But you are young...." The male looked back. "I guess I could see if I can snatch something up..."

PearlyUnicorn His reas and head came up suddenly, the very picture of hope renewed. "You...you'd help me learn how, maybe?" Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled and nodded. "Sure....couldn't hurt..." He moved into clearing for more movement. "Now...show me what you got so far" PearlyUnicorn Koryu nodded and went into a little croush, belly flat to the ground, head tilted up a bit so that his horns wouldn't catch on branches as he snuck under them, wings folded tightly.
"first...you...you find whatever it is you're looking for and then you sneak up on it....then pounce. right?"
His head came up at the last word, to look at his new "teacher." Tristam Lockhart Lockhart's eyes wonder Koryu's form over and over until he saw Koryu looked up towards him, his eyes looked towards the red orbs of the other. "...Technically, but that would had work better when you were younger....I think you should be going after larger prey." He clear his throat. "Anyways, Sneaking and pouncing is good, but you have to take wind and ground in count. Mainly with deer and rabbits." PearlyUnicorn He blinked, and nodded. "I've never gone after a deer before... I...," and here his nares darkened again, the hippogriff equivilant to an embarrassed blush, "I haven't hunted up my own food much. My Two-leg is...was...very attentive." Tristam Lockhart "Ah...well...I was going to mention hunting from the sky..but we should stick to the ground if you are not that experience..." He smiled. "Maybe we should go find some deer and you can watch and learn how to hunt them down." PearlyUnicorn His ear-tufts lifted and Koryu practically bounced up from the half-crouch he'd been resting in, eyes bright and excited. "Really? You're not kidding? Can we go now?" Tristam Lockhart Lockhart laughed. "Of course! Lets go..." He started to walk, grinning as he watched the younger male. Atleast Koryu seem to have loosen up. Ayelanna Koryu trots after Lockhart jauntily, head up and cheerful...nobody was ridiculing him, nobody was doing anything terrible or annoying! He had to struggle to resist the urge to chirp as he had often when he was an easses. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart looked over his shoulder to Koryu, smiling. He was cute when happy. Too bad he seem depress and trying to act like a bad boy half the time. He sniffed the air. "Good...we are down wind.....they won't pick up our scents...." He looked towards the black male. "Don't every walk with the wind, walk against it when hunting." Ayelanna Koryu nods tersely, paying as close attention as he can to every word. "Against the wind, not with it. Right." Tristam Lockhart The white male started to move slower, spotting a group of does far from them. "Alright....now listen. You stay here and watch....And afterwards, I'll go over it verbally..." Ayelanna "Yes...alright," and he settled down in the low grass to watch and not be seen. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled and moved away, pulling his wings closer to himself as he lower his body, stalking towards the does. His eyes quickly looking over the members of the group. His black wings were and white hues let him blend into the splotched moonlight that fell to the dark ground.
Once he got as close as he could, he lunged forward. The does startle and started to run. Lockhart ran after them, jumping onto the slowest of them. Both creatures went down, the white adult subdue his prey under his weight, his beak suddenly coming to grab the neck, and with a twist, it snap the neck bone. He waited for the rest of the life of the doe to leave her before he chirped towards the younger male. PearlyUnicorn Koryu bounced up as if mounted on a spring and chirupped back adorably. With two swift, bouncing, bounds he was at Lockhart's side, smiling eagerly.
"That was amazing!" he gushed, excited.

Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled, getting off the prey. "Thank you. I think I should point out that you should go after only does, not stags...their horns could be problematic and they can wound you if you are not experience." PearlyUnicorn Koryu nodded with a aolemnity that was all out of place with his excitedyl fluttering wingtips. "Right, no stags, got it! when can we eat?" Tristam Lockhart The white adult smiled. "Go ahead and eat....I'lll wait until you have your filled." PearlyUnicorn Koryu attacked the meat swiftly, pulling and swalowing great chunks whole. He stopped only when his crop was full, and his stomach bulging...which only cerved to highlight that he was underweight, for his size.
"...than-" and he paused, thoughfully and belched. "Thank you." Tristam Lockhart Lockhart let his eyes wonder just for a moment before he just kept alert for something else. He turned back when he heard him belched. "Your very welcome" He smiled softly at the the poor condition Koryu seems to find himself. PearlyUnicorn Koryu smiled and ducked his head. "Hrm, you're not so bad, after all. Who knew?"
Satisfied, he settles back, preening the feathers on his wing busily.
"Don't you want some? It's really good!" Tristam Lockhart "You say that as if I had done something bad..." He chuckled before he started eating.
Finishing up what was left, he lay down infront of Koryu and started to preen his feathers. PearlyUnicorn Koryu sighed, deep in his chest, and flopped onto his belly cheerfully.
"Ahhhhh....I feel good," He murmured, letting his eyes close and his head drop to the grass. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled as he kept preening his feathers. Stopping for moment to speak. "I am glad." He smiled towards the dark male. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart looks away, suddenly getting up as his ears pulled forward, his eyes sharpely looking about before he position himself over Koryu. The white adult grinned mentally as he let out warning sounds into the forest to some imaginary attacker. PearlyUnicorn Koryu tensed, motionless, staring out into the dark peircingly. A long, long moment of silence passed before the younger male dared a whisper.
"...What is it?" Tristam Lockhart "I don't know...it moved on..." Lockhart whispered back tho didn't make a move to move off Koryu. PearlyUnicorn "oh." Koryu replied, still blinking at the darkness.
It took him a few more moments to ask in a more normal voice. "If it's gone, then why are you still sitting on me?" Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiles. "Just incase it comes back......" PearlyUnicorn Koryu hissed and bucked, annoyed. "I knew you were going to do something perverted!"

Tristam Lockhart Lockhart got off him and stare at him. "I didn't do anything perverted. I am thinking like a prey in danger....If I can't flee because of another but I am aware of a danger, and that danger realizes I know, it would go still, just like you would if you were a hunter, you would wait until your prey would pull it defenses down to attack. I am sorry if this came out wrong to you, maybe you should clean up your mind" PearlyUnicorn "Clean up my mind?" he grumbled but made no further comment, staring in the opposite direction from lockhart grumpily. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart lay down by Koryu and rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Just go to sleep...." He rested his head down. PearlyUnicorn Edging away, Koryu curled up a few steps away, still grumbling. Time passed, and the moon sunk beneath the treeline. Dew settles and frogs sang in the forest's undergrowth.
A swift breeze hissed throught the branches, and Koryu shivered in his sleep. Tristam Lockhart Awakening, he rose his head, getting up, he moved closer to Koryu, wrapping one of his wings before resting his body at his side. PearlyUnicorn Slowly, the shivering abated and Koryu sighed, resting warmly where Tristram laid against him. Groggily, he uncurled a bit, nuestling by instinct against the warm body next to him. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled softly, he rested his head down and close his eyes, slowly going to sleep. PearlyUnicorn Morning, and the sun rose hot over the dewey forest. Koryu stirred fitfully and grumbled half awake and unhappy about it. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart barely stirred as the other woke up. He mumbled something and went on sleeping. PearlyUnicorn Drowsy and uncomprehending, Koryu woke, yawned and stretched luxuriously under the warmth of Lockhart's wing. He turned bleary eyes to hid bedmate and blinked twice, very slowly, before realizing what he was looking at.
Then, silently, and shocked, he skitter back, out of the comforting and comfortable coccoon of Lockhart's warmth as quickly as he could, panicked. So hasty was his retread that he ran, full-tilt into the very tree that he;d come up against the night previous with a resounding crack and a pained yelp. German Gepardo Lockhart stirred suddenly, looking about half asleep, half alert. Looking startle by the sudden movement and then the noise and yelp. He shook his body and rose, for a moment trying to register what had waken him and what was going on. Tho mainly he was trying to figure out where the sound came from. He looked around and trotted after the black male, coming to the site of his less then graceful escapee. PearlyUnicorn Whimpering, Koryu turned to face Lock as he approached. He'd scuttled full speed intot he tree, half-sidewise as he scrambled to "safety." Much good it had done him, he was squatted in a half-crouch, one wing snapped tight against is body, tense and trembling, and the other hanging at an unnatural angle from his shoulder, twitching painfully.
"Hurts," He whimpered softly, and cringed. "Owwww...hurts..." Tristam Lockhart Lockhart sighed. "Oh stop it, what are you freaked out about?" His trouble eyes moved about the body of the other until he found what he was looking for. "....you either broke it or you dislocate it......I would perfer the latter...." PearlyUnicorn Koryu whimpered again, and tried to stand more fully, then sringed back when the movement caused his sagging wing to move, causing pain.
"Ah, ah, owww...h-h-ow can you tell?" He quavered, turning pitifully wide red eyes towards Lockhart. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart looked over the wing. "Because its painfully obvious....Depending where in your wing is the 'break' it would be easy to tell what you did to your poor wing...now come here, in either case, we'll have to go to one of our guardians..."

PearlyUnicorn For a moment Koryu'd pained expression shifted to something more indignant, but he swallowed a 'don't talk to me like I'm stupid,' and moved so that Lockhart could better examine his injury, hissing at the pain. "D-does it...?" He asked, then trailed off, unsure of what question precisely he was asking. Tristam Lockhart "Well...its....broken...." Lockhart sighed. "I guess I'll go look for Tristam....He should know what to do......" PearlyUnicorn Koryu jerked, shocked and winced at the motion. "W-what should I do?"Tristam Lockhart "Just...don't move....I'll be back soon." He trotted off. PearlyUnicorn Koryu whimpered, hardly audible watching Lockhart's tail dissapear into the pale dawn forest. Shaking talons and the stabbing pain in his wing distracted him, and he immediately missed Lockhart with an intensity that surprised the younger male. Tristam Lockhart After a couple of moments, Lockhart appeared from the trees. Tristam sitting on his back. He sat down, letting the human drop to the ground without warning. Tristam growled at the bird and walked over to Koryu. "It doesn't look too bad......." He looked up to Lock"If you dont mind making sure he doesn't kill me while I mend it?" Lockhart rested his head on Koryu's neck, shielding his guardian as the man started to work on the younger male's wing. PearlyUnicorn Koryu jumped, stuggling momentarily against Lockhart, before settling still, though he trembled still, with pain and worried fear. His breath was hissing between his beak, right near Lockhart's ear, and the other's neck strained in panicked little jerks against his own. Occassionally, Koryu would whimper, at some small touch of Tristams, worried and nervous, unable to see or anticipate what the two-leg would do to his injured wing. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart drew his ears back as he kept himself between the two. Tristam finish mending the bone. Slowly, he folded Koryu's wing correctly and tied it against his body. "Alright, just don't move it for about......four weeks...." He looked up at the two adults. "Lock, do look after him and that he doesn't peck at the rope or bandages or anything....." PearlyUnicorn Koryu didn't move from where he was poised, braced by Lockhart. Now that the pain had eased he found hat all he wanted was to lean against the older male, listening numbly to the Two-leg talk. Tristam Lockhart Tristam started to walk away. Lockhart stop restraining Koryu, laying down infront of him gently. "Now....why did you ran...?" PearlyUnicorn Koryu had the good grace to look embarrassed, "I...erhm..I woke up and you were...erhm...well, I just...panicked."Tristam Lockhart Lockhart tilted his head and lowered his ears. "So its my fault....." He sighed. "I am sorry, Koryu, bt you were trembling last night...and seeing you are under wight and everything I got worry you might get sick...." PearlyUnicorn Koryu tilted his head away, embarrassed, and made a soft soothing sound suspiciously like a coo. "Not your fault...I'm the idiot who ran into a tree."
"I didn't think anyone cared," he grumbled, after a moment of awkward silence. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled softly. "Don't say that. I care. Don't I count for anyting?" PearlyUnicorn Koryu was silent for a long minute, then turned, staring up at Lockhart with wide eyes and an open expression that spoke of sudden hope. For a timeless moment he stood there, poised, then shook his head, as if reminding himself of something. "I...should probably go see my Two-leg."

Tristam Lockhart Lockhart rose up, tilting his head for a moment as the other spoke. "I better go with you, just in case." PearlyUnicorn Koryu startled slightly, his face-feathers flattening slightly, annoyed. "...Why, do you think I'll fall down a cliff or something?"Tristam Lockhart Lockhart stared at him for a moment. "No...no....I am just worry someone might attack you on your way there...." PearlyUnicorn Koryu's glare soften a bit but he turn away grumpily. "I guess, that....makes sense," he groused. Tristam Lockhart Lockhart smiled slightly, tilting his head. "So you will let me go with you?" PearlyUnicorn Koryu nodded, and troted off, wincing and shifting to a moother loping run when the trot jogged his injured wing. "...You might not like her much...she's pretty strict."Tristam Lockhart Lockhart trotted after him, looking concern as he followed. "I can work with that." PearlyUnicorn Koryu moved as gracefully as he could through the dawn-dappled forest, like black velvet splashed with red among the dancing dust-motes and shafts of sunlight. Birds chirped and sang the morning gloria around them. Presently they came to an open glade, ringed about with broken pillars and half-crumbled statues. Curled in the arms of a headless, legless bit of statuary, obviously male, but what else it might once have been unrecognisable, was a slim, female, elf. She looked not at all similar to what Lockhart had seen of her last, short black ruff replaced by rich silver curls, though her pose was the same, nose buried in book. The woman looked up as they entered her little domain, and Koryu bobbed his head in greeting. "Hello, horsefeathers." "Hello, Pearly."Tristam Lockhart Lockhart stop as they came across the elf. He tilted his head at the greeting, smiling before bowing deeply to Pearly. "Good day."
