To update this at least semi-regularly is my motivation to write.
My motivation to even begin writing again is that it's a better way to release than other alternatives I've depended on.
Probably mostly poetry.
I don't expect anyone to read or comment.
This is just for me.
But you (may) know how it is- if it's in a public place, it gives you a little more reason to get something done.
Most of it probably won't be even decent.
But in this case it's really not the point, I guess.
So if you choose to read, feel free.

The Obstinate Sickness
The muscle and bone
and the nerves are the throne
of insanity festering
within our genome.
When we laugh we are ill
when we're angry we kill
and our thoughts can be cured
by a handful of pills.
When the water comes up
and the rope's in a knot
and the floor beneath us
is ready to drop
we'll swallow the bane
wash it down with a shot
then
we stop.
(and as our minds rot, somehow we sustain
until we may do it all over again)

When you feel good you (feel like you) don't need medication. When you're miserable it's a lifeline you grudgingly grab hold of. We're given it for every little symptom. I hate it. It steals away my own natural thoughts, leaving behind synthetic ones created by chemicals manufactured by others.
Who are we really?
