 ~~~~~~~~~SoulMates~~~~~~~~~ In the year 2019, humans became aware of a species of people, that lived among the humans and acted like humans but were not human. The closest word that the English dictionary could give for these creatures was Demon, though they are nothing like the demons we were taught about in our churches and homes. In fact, they are not even evil, at least, many think they are not. And their differences from the human race were so subtle, only those who really studied these demons understood these differences in them from afar. The discovery of the Demon race was a surprise for all humans, but not to the Demons. They came to the humans for a certain purpose. Demons have a unique way of mating compared to humans. All demons are born with a soul mate, one person/demon made for them and them alone. It is impossible for a Demon to be with anyone other than his/her soul mate. All demons, when they hit puberty lose their ability to see color. When a demon finds his/her soul mate, their color is restored to them. Until they see and touch their soul mate, they only see the world in black and white. There has been, in the last several years, a decline of female demons in the world and because of this, male demons have been finding their soul mates in human partners. It has been 10 years since this announcement has been made to the public concerning demons. Demons have been finding their mates increasingly within the human population and the human population, has in turn become more aware and accepting of the demons way of mating and lifestyle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You have the choice of living in either the suburbs of New York or in New York City. I chose this city because it is very large and gives the characters a lot of room, but still allows us to cross over each other's characters and make it fun for everyone to participate together. About Demons & Soul Mates  -All Demons have one life mate, and are required to find and bind themselves together. If one dies the other will follow. (This means that you will either be paired with someone, or can enter the RP with your choice of pair.)
-All demons have superior strength and speed, as well as extended lifespans, and can live for centuries if they are not killed before then. You, as a demon have your choice of physic and elemental abilities, the most common being telepathy. (Varies from each demon to the other, please choose one elemental or physic ability for now, we'll see about adding later if the RP takes off)
-A Demon must speak the ritual words as well a blood exchange to completely bind themselves to each other.
Ritual Words: "I give my life and heart to you, and take the same to my own. From this day our souls will be bound. I will take and guard you and place you life and happiness above my own. You are mine, for all eternity. You are my everything."
-Once a human becomes bound to their soul mate, they share the same timespan. (meaning that if one dies, the other will die shortly after)
-Once they have found their soul mates, demons become possesive and protective of their mates. And would not let another man so much as touch them unless they are related or close friends to both of them.
-Once bound together, soul mates are able to read and communicate with each others minds and are able to feel what their soulmate feels.
-This one is Important: Demons are male, humans are female. I may be willing to allow it to be switched, but for now I want to keep it Demons=male, humans=female.

 The Rules to Follow(these have been updated, so please check this!)
--I am God, so what I say goes. I don't want to modkill anyone, but if you don't listen, this RP doesn't work. It's a large RP and everyone wants to enjoy it. So please listen.
--If you cannot post within a couple days of your last post, let your soulmate know so they can move you with them so we don't have any time-lapses, where everyone else is waiting for your posts.
--When the majority of people are within a certain time frame, that is where it stays until most have moved forward. SO, if we have 10 people who are still in one night, the other 6 have to wait until there are more ready to move to the next day. What I say goes, so if you don't want to wait, slow your posts down.
--If you want to reply to ANY OOC i post, do it in the OOC thread PLEASE! This is important, I don't want pages of OOC.
--Please follow Gaia TOS and guild rules.

"Always with you
Connected by blood my loveSuki sighed as she wiped down the bar, getting ready for another night in New York City. Since it was Friday night, she knew that it was going to be crazy busy for the next several hours, so she was enjoying the silence of the bar. Other bartenders were busily cleaning the tables down and the new DJ was setting up the stage for the dancers and musicians. Romeo's was one of the places where people chose it over more snazzy, upscale places, because it was known for it's down to earth atmosphere. That was one of the reasons she still worked here. She loved that there were usually the same groups of people there on a particular night, and then a few new people as well.
Suki was known for her skill at mixing drinks, so those who knew this came to her. She had been doing this since she was 16 for her parents parties at the house, and though some would think it degrading to work at a bar, she enjoyed it and didn't care what her peers thought. Listening to Sweet Things by Tiesto playing over the speakers, Suki mixed herself a non-alcoholic Strawberry Daiquiri and waited for opening time. A purpose fulfilled

Mai burst through the door interrupting the silence of the bar. She was hoping she wouldn't get in trouble, being that this was their busiest night of the week and she was late to work.
She walked to the back, where she set her purse and jacket, when she walked out she smiled happily at Suki as she restocked the drinks.

Tonight's gonna be fun, especially with the new DJ...I think her name is Kazumi, but if we keep her, I'm calling her Kazu like the instrument." Suki laughed. "Here, want some of my Strawberry Daiquiri? It has no alcohol, figured it wouldn't be wise to have alcohol on my breath before we even opened the doors." Suki handed Mai the drink then helped Mai restock and get out the more popular mixing drinks so they were easy to access. They also got the pumps ready for the regular beers, setting the glasses out for shots and just regular drinks."A purpose fulfilled

Kaoru walked down Main Street, and smiled as he felt a light gust of wind rustle his leather jacket, carried by the soft, late-afternoon air. He pulled off his jacket and held it on his shoulder as he reached into his pocket to get his ringing phone. "Yes, the piece is supposed to be played at 3/4 time....No, legato would assume that the entire piece is played softly...." He leaned on the edge of a restaurant, still talking with his conductor. "Hold on, I'll call you back. I got another call coming in.""Yo, Kaoru. You still on for tonight? Kato, Zack and I are planning to hit a new bar tonight. I know you don't drink, but, come on! It'll be fun!" Kaoru laughed and sighed. "Where is it?"
"Romeo's...or something like that. I'll call you back with the details...or, better yet, send it to you. Talk to you, man." The line went dead, and Kaoru laughed inwardly."Man, eh?" He switched back to the other line and continued to walk down the street, not really focusing on where he was headed.

Kazumi blew some dust off of her favorite records and stepped back, taking in her new office. "Alright, new town, new bar. Let's just hope they don't kick me out like the last one." Kazumi slapped her hands together, causing dust to fly about. She saw the girls over at the bar looking at her and smiled. Kazumi stepped down from the platform equipment was on and took a seat at the bar. "Hi girls. It's uh, nice to meet you both. My name's Kazumi if you didn't already know. And, what are your name's?" She asked, a polite grin spreading across her face.

Mason "Hibiki" Coult
You think you can beat me? "You mess up one more time, and you're finished!" That was the last thing Mason "Hibiki" Coult was told when he left his job at the repair shop that afternoon. He had accidentally rewired a car's electrical devices up wrong, and, after trying to start it, it caught on fire. Mason put out the fire, and it was really no big deal. But his boss felt otherwise. Thus, Mason walked down the street, a scowl of frustration on his face. "Stupid car," he mumbled, "It's not my fault that I can't tell if it's red or blue or whatever!" See, Hibiki wasn't just another young adult living in the city; he was a demon, and he was color blind.
Well, for now. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jacket, and took a deep breath, calming himself down. "Oh well. At least I still have my kung fu." Mason was a martial art master, though he did have an unfair advantage, what with his super strength and speed. As a matter of fact, he was wearing his usual karate gi that very moment; A bright pink garb with a black belt around his waist(he doesn't even know that the gi is pink, because of his color blindness). He got many stares and jeers, but he was oblivious to them. "Heh, they must be intimidated by my sheer awesomeness." He walked into the new bar in town, and announced his presence. "Hello, ladies! The one and only Hibiki is here!" He said it loud and full of cockiness, and realized that there was nobody there but the two bartenders. "...I guess I must be early." No way! Not with my fighting spirit!
