So I'm bored and annoyed at myself for creeping on my exes.
(Note to self: WTF, dude)

If you had to choose only one 2009 release to recommend, what would it be? Why?

(Not sure how this specific situation comes into play.
Say, perhaps you're dying of laughter and this recommendation is your last recorded, coherent statement.
Or something angrier, like drowning or poisoning or scaphism.)

I love The Killers and their new album was very good.

So yeah even though they aren't independent I'd pick them

now choosing and independent album will be harder...gotta think

I would definitely reccomend "I'm Going Away" by the Fiery Furnaces. It's trippy yet safe, complicated yet sane. From start to finish you won't loose interest. It's pretty great.

Who are these people who say things? And what can they be saying? The Decemberists are awesome.

Ok, so I really dig Kurt Vile's Childish Prodigy.
There's a certain comedy and unease and grit in this album and his yelps and his hooks and I love it.

I hope you'll check it out, if you haven't heard it!

I really couldn't choose one if I tried.

I met someone a few weeks ago who asked me to name my favorite album of the decade.
It floored me! I didn't know how to answer him.

.. So umm... recommend a few? ninja

Albums:
St. Vincent - Actor
Vivian Girls - Everything Goes Wrong
The Dead Weather - Horehound
AC - MPP (derp u kno bout dis already w/e)
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest

EPs:
Deerhunter - Rainwater Cassette Exchange
No Age - Losing Feeling
Dum Dum Girls - Yours Alone

Moderate disappointments of '09:
Sonic Youth - The Eternal (I should know better than to hype myself up for new records... just let 'em happen instead.)
Regina Spektor - Far (I liked her stripped down stuff much better, the stuff that's just pure undistilled Regina. This has all these session musicians and producers - gtfo Jeff Lynne - all over it ... the songwriting's a little weaksauce to boot.)

Things I kind of halfway liked but the verdict's still out on:
The XX
Dirty Projectors
Phoenix
AC - Fall Be Kind

Shitty s**t of '09:
Wavves

Oooh, I forgot Cold Cave... that'd go on the "almost there" list. A few great tracks despite sounding very, very rehash-y. Also, they need to decide if they'd rather be New Order or Throbbing Gristle... =p
