O t h e r / / I n f o r m a t i o n Welcome to the Encyclopedia of 'Velvet Lies in Scarlet Letters'. To help role players understand the sort of world they have immersed themselves in, I will put together a thread of information in which role players alike can view the information to help them better themselves in this world.
As the world is constantly evolving, so too will the information. Updates will happen whenever new information is introduced such as a change in social standards or perhaps, the destruction of a building.

B r i e f / / G e o g r a p h i c a l / / S e t-u p Turmoil in England: Obviously there are acts of crime around the country though there hasn't been anything too worrying. There are some small riots lead by smaller parties against the government, however it's nothing too too much. The media tends to focus itself on the issues of Royalty more then the small up risings. Another sector of focus is on the French Monarchy which seems to be on the ropes and could, in the future, become an unbalanced state which Britain should keep an eye on.
India is still ruled by the British as well as several other countries around the world. Canada has a small presidential government with appointed officials from the British monarchy.
The United States is isolationist and tends to deal only with Brazil, Africa, China and Japan.
England's main trading partner (excusing Canada) is Japan, therefore England's technology is far more advanced then most of the worlds (rivaling that of Japan's).
China is an independent, communist state and has fair ties with Britain, however avoids petty arguments. They have little trading connections.
Russia does not exist. It was conquered by British forces in the 1800's just after the fall of the Netherlands and surrounding, previously free countries. Switzerland has maintained it's neutrality. Luxembourg is part of the British provinces after assimilation.
Many other countries continue to keep their names, however, they are under British rule. The map below will detail the current territories.

A Brief Background
The current ruling household of the English nations is the House of Grace. The House of Grace has ruled over England for over Six Hundred years after the fall of the House of Tudors (From the 1400’s to recent day). Succession was brought down, strictly, through the male blood line.
Recent History
Lady Felicia Grace had given birth to her twin sons Henry and Jonathan fifty years ago (1957). The first born was Jonathan who, in normal circumstances, would claim the throne because he was eldest; however Felicia had died after child birth leaving the boys to be raised by the nannies until the eldest could take the throne after the death of their father, Daniel. During this time, it was discovered that the two boys had very different personalities. Henry, the younger, grew to be a leader with good heart and courage. Jonathan was seen as a strong willed individual, brave but ruthless. Due to the turmoil after an outbreak of disease in England, the people demanded a king who would listen to their needs.
At the age of eighteen, the populace of the English states were permitted to vote in whom they wanted for King, a wise decision on behalf of King Daniel. It was the first time such a thing had ever occurred in history. It would impact the lives of everyone for years to come.
Henry won by a landslide after half a year of campaigns. Jonathan was furious to have lost to his younger brother and had attempted to seize the throne for himself by having a maid poison Henry’s wine at the festival before his coronation. The brother escaped barely, held in intensive care for several months, half dead.
No one discovered that it was Jonathan who had did this to the main branch* but there were suspicions.
Years passed and on Henry’s twenty eighth birthday he was crowned king of the English Empire.
Jonathan was granted the title of Duke of Normandy and had given birth to his son __________ . Jonathan was recorded dead after an assassination while returning from the castle to his villa in Normandy on July 30th, 1978.
On October 1987 King Henry’s wife Madison gave birth to her daughter Scarlet.
When Scarlet was five years old, Madison had come down with a horrible case amnesia having suffered greatly from a car accident, an assumed terrorist attack on the royal family. She lost everything. King Henry’s grief was enormous and Scarlet was too young to understand. Madison was moved to a small cottage up in northern Scotland to be taken care of. Madison had developed a personality disorder and the heart broken family choose to try and ease the suffering.
Scarlet’s father was murdered on the night of the new millennium. She was twelve years old at the time. Since then, her cousin took over the role of king until Scarlet would become of age to be coroneted because she was the only true blood descendant of the late King Henry the Good.

T e r r o r i s t s / / a n d / / R e b e l s Terrorist Organization: The Back Hand
The Black Hand is a group of radicals whom occupy hidden sectors in England and around the world. They have deep religious roots and are eager to watch the Monarchy fall to bring about their own plans. The group’s head quarters can be found in Glasgow Scotland however an exact location is impossible to find. They have been behind several notorious bombings, assassination attempts and kidnapping attempts to try and cripple the government. Many people believe that these terrorists are a communist group however there is no conformation on this.
The Black Hand deals in underground arms, drugs, human and sex trades. They have support from many people around the world thanks to their leader who remains anonymous. The group is very exclusive and it is nearly impossible to penetrate so little information is leaked to the public or royalty.
Their current goals are unknown, but they are highly dangerous and specialized. Contact with a Black Hand member would most likely result in death if their cover is broken. This terrorist group could become a valuable but shady ally to the rebels stationed in England.
The Rebellion: (Yet to be properly named)
This group of rebels are stationed in London England. Little is known about them and the length of their existence remains unknown. It is speculated that they were created at the time of the revolution in the United States of America.
Their short term goals are unknown however; it is clear that they wish to over throw the monarchy and possibly set up a democratic way of governing. This information is unconfirmed.
