Here is where you will make applications to advance in rank. This is how the hierarchy works
When you start out as a trainee, you will have to post 100 times before you are allowed to post in here to petition to move up in rank. When you have moved up to accepted, post 100 more times, and you can petition for the rank of soldier, now, when you are soldier, post 100 more times and you can move onto the full rank of knight, where you will be as high as you can petition. You can also be upgraded to knight through one of the crew deeming you fit, but that is up to them. Here is the Petition Form
