There was a place that Lind could go to if he really wanted to get away from it all. No one else really knew about it except Subo, and she never went back there. Too much of a hassle to get to now, the forest had grown over most of the trails, and if you didn't know exactly where you were going, you would get horrifically lost.
It was more of a hassle to get to now, since he had moved out, but he still ended up there quite often. It gave him a place and time to think by himself without any outside distractions.
Of course, it also happened to be in a clearing where the sun hit, so it was rather warm, which tended to send him into a nap if he was tired enough. Which he usually was.
So there Lind was, on the rock where he was found in the forest behind his (old) home.
Or, at least, that's where he thought he was. When he woke up, he most certainly wasn't. He was still in a forest, yes, but...this one was different. The trees were larger, he was no longer in a clearing, and it was just...very, very familiar.
It looked different when there wasn't a raging storm going on, though.
His feet carried him through the forest almost aimlessly until he broke through the line of trees and found himself at the shore of a lake.Well. It had certainly been awhile since he'd been back here, hadn't it?

Splash! Splash!
The sound of someone playing in the water of an otherwise very still stream was heard nearby. Through a gap in the trees, Lind would be able to see a small figure darting after the ghostly fish in the water, a wide smile on his face.
SPLASH!
With one wrong step the boy slipped and fell straight into the water and onto his rear end. Though now he was far from the well groomed young man he once was, Nikolai was far from Tarzan; he had on shorts that were wrinkled but clean and a white undershirt with a wide enough hole in the back for his wings to poke through. The way they glittered he really did look angelic, even more so with the halo of lights around his head.
With a small groan, he lifted himself up and looked down at his soaked clothes with his arms out to the sides. Dripping wet, he just gave a slightly embaressed smile and flapped his wings in hopes of drying them. At least no one saw that..... right?
