. . . When it's muddy and cold outside and you want to work with your horse? ):

Oh, yes, tell me about it. At the farm where I volunteer, spring can be really fun when you go to catch horses. Boots are definitely essential, and if you're not careful they can get stuck in all that mud.

Right now, it's too cold to even think of going out to the barn to ride T.T

I hate it too sad
I'm really lucky to have an indoor arena when I'm at university [they have goooooooooood cheap horse facilities biggrin ], but when I'm home, its just one big paddock of mud [and a horse hiding underneath a thick coating of mud...somewhere...lol]

I don't even try to ride when it's like this. My horses are all wired up in the winter and their attention spans shrink to about two seconds. They're like a couple of spastic yearlings right now. gonk I can't wait to toss their butts out in the pasture this spring so they can let all this energy out.
They're staying pretty clean so far, though. Knock on wood.

nah it doesn't bother me i look at the rainy seasons as a time out from from all the hard play and look to finding new and creative things to do with her; like pick up all her feet from one side. One at a time though! I also use this time to polish my ground and hadling skills, and the practice of reading my horse.
