Username: SilithDark Literacy level: Eh, Semi-lit to literate I think. Style of writing: I can do any style really, I lean towards fantasy more but I can do modern, or sci-fi as well. Time roleplaying: Quite a few years. Only been active on Gaia for... well it's only been six months now that I think about it. Why: I figure that you, Rose, have enough on your plate when it comes to the tutoring and could use some help. And I really want to see some better roleplayers on here. Demonstration of vocabulary: She looked at him a moment, trying to hear his thoughts, but as usual caught nothing. She answered in the soft voice that was her norm, "He will be along shortly. He is making sure that we were not followed, and that no one will come upon us unexpectedly." The two of them sat in silence, uncomfortable for Saeven, as he knew he would not be able to attend the meeting tonight without leading one of his cousins or one of their tags, right to the Unit. Celena sat expectantly, yes, waiting for Merus, but also hoping to catch an insight into Saeven's thoughts should he lapse for even a second.Demonstration of character development: XXXMori walked the human streets aimlessly, unsure where to go now that he had left hell. He hid his wings behind a simple spell, keeping them tucked close to his body as he wove his way through the crowds of people. Humans had long since forgotten the existence of angels and demons, and many beings would prefer to keep it that way. 'I should not have left home... ' he thought; not for the first time, and certainly not for the last.
XXX He toyed briefly with the idea of becoming a sword for hire. Fighting was in his blood, it's what he did best. But he soon threw out that idea, he had left in order to get away from that life style, not to embrace it up here only in a different form. He sighed quietly as he side stepped around one of the foolish, frail humans. 'They will no doubt send someone after me. It's not every day that a demon goes rogue... ' He wondered briefly who they would send.
XXX He quickly decided that they wouldn't send one of the professionals after him. No, his family wouldn't want to go public with his absence. They'd probably send Delotha, whose name literally meant 'hate'. His name inspired hate too, for Mori, whose name meant dark, truly did hate his brother. Delotha embraced the way of the Demon, creating chaos in an already chaotic world and doing everything his family viewed that a demon should do. He sighed again as he wandered aimlessly.Demonstration of roleplay starter: XXX The year is 3034. Though that hardly matters anymore. About a thousand years ago, the world ran out of room, could no longer expand lengthwise. So the began to build up and down. The cities got so high and spread out so much that soon, there were people who could live their whole lives not setting foot on the ground. In fact, no one knows anymore what soil, or grass looks like. It is a world of concrete and metal. No more are their trees, machines now filter the air, giving breathable air to the occupants. Cars are no longer used, instead people travel by foot, if they travel at all. Many became quite stationary, everything they needed was available instantly by a simple phone call.
XXXMany races flocked to the world, from different planes of existence they all came to live in relative harmony. There were still racial differences but it was normal. There came to be angels, demons, vampires, werewolves, elves, and many other races innumerable. Vampires and werewolves continued their rivalry, as did the angels and demons but in rare cases bonds would be formed. Humans still thrived and in many cases ignored the existence of the other races, believing, in many cases, themselves to be superior. This caused many fights among the races, but for the most part they tolerated each other.
XXX That was awhile ago though. With so many people living in close quarters it allowed for diseases to become much more widespread. Many years ago an epidemic spread, contaminating the entire planet. Most died from it as no cure could be found. No race was immune, even vampires caught some strain of the disease and were driven insane, entering the sunlight in some cases, driving others to suicide. Demons and angels alike died. Humans caught the worst of it, having fewer natural immunities then the other races. Bodies were burned, but that seemed to make the spread of it quicker. Those that became infected lasted a day, maybe two. Family members left their diseased relatives, children abandoned by mothers, lovers split, chaos ensued.
XXX Not everybody died however. There were those whose bodies adapted to the disease, becoming one with it. These beings were few and far between all of different races, in most cases no similarities between them. It seemed to be a chance of fate, and indeed it was. The disease affected them all in different ways. Enhanced physical abilities to some, mental abilities to others. Some were physically changed, able to morph into a different shape, given powers they didn't have before. This also happened in different ways for each individual.
XXX With the world practically empty of life, beings never before seen started appearing. They fear the light and will remain in the shadows. This being the case, none has ever seen one up close. Those who have caught glimpses have differing opinions about what they look like. They appear to be shape shifters, able to take any form to fit within the shadows. As small as a rat to the size of a human, no bigger. These creatures, just called Outsiders, feed upon the corpses of the deceased. They leave behind no trace but a faint smell of brimstone.
XXX The Outsiders have unnatural strength, stronger then even that of a vampire, or demon. They do feed upon corpses, but will attack a living being without a moments notice if that individual is foolish even to step foot in the shadows. That being the case, it is best to carry a flashlight for they will not approach if you have the beam on. They come out at night, having nothing to fear from the light of the moon or stars. Not that much of that light is prevalent on the world. Only on the upper most levels can the light of the sun or moon penetrate. The rest of the world was powered by false light. When people began dieing however, the lights became extinguished with no one to tend to their upkeep. Demonstration of symbolism:<> Demonstrate a romance scene: Faerai blushed, her face turning slightly pink. She decided to let Zaq believe what he would, as pushing might drive him away and she did not want that to happen under any circumstance. She smiled as he placed her hand on the side of his face. His skin was much cooler in comparison to hers, as was his temperament.
XXX Perhaps that is why she was so drawn to him. The do say opposites attract. Her vision blurred slightly and she yawned as she looked at him. The heat from the volcano and the darkening night made her tired. Her thoughts became sluggish and blurred as did her movements.
XXX A calm breeze teased a bit of her hair to dance about her face and she reached out to tuck a bit of her hair back behind her ear. She normally wore her hair over her ears as well as she could, but with Zaq, she didn't feel the need to do so. No one else had come to accept her has he had. They shied away from the heat she gave off, and yet it seemed to draw him closer.
XXX She blinked, and nearly forgot to open her eyes again afterward. How she became so tired so suddenly was a mystery to her. Perhaps it had something to do with the adrenaline rush from the flight, then the sudden releasing of a lot of energy. Demonstrate an action scene: Cegil stood outside, waiting for Rhael to step outside the small enclosure. He waited quietly, examining his fingernails. With a sigh, Rhael looked up at Kevin, looking him straight in the eye as she whispered, "Don't do anything stupid. He's got this entire area under surveillance." She attempted to cover the flash of fear in her eyes with a slight grin but it turned into more of a grimace.
As she stepped from the shadows, a predatory gleam entered Cegil's eyes. He stepped forward to meet her halfway, his hand reaching out to touch her face. She flinched away from his touch, closing her eyes. 'No, I will not be afraid. No longer.' She slapped his hand away, meeting his gaze, but not without fear. "What's wrong, Rhael? Don't you miss me?" His voice sounded pained, but there was a gleam of... something in his eyes. Something not altogether human.
"I am not yours Cegil. I left years ago. And I do not intend on ever coming back." She glanced at Kevin, hoping he'd taken her warning and not done anything rash. At her denial, a look full of nothing but rage crossed Cegil's features. Rhael flinched away from the flame of his gaze, and suddenly realized that he would not let her go again without a fight.
"How very... unfortunate," he murmured, stepping closer. Rhael stepped back, but found that as she had spoken, she moved to the side, and her back hit the wall on the side of the alley. Cegil moved closer still, until he was right in front of her, resting his hands on either side of her head. Her heart rate and breathing sped, fear very evident on her face. Demonstrate an inner monologue: Rhael wrapped her arms tightly around him, trying not to meet the gazes of any of her old friends that surrounded them. Knowing Cigel and his over confidence, he would have pulled all the boys off the roofs, and so it would take them longer to get to the two of them. As soon as Cigel realized what they were doing, he took a step forward, hand outstretched, as if trying to stop them. A snarl twisted his features as they became pretty much airborne and out of his reach.
The majority of the boys stepped back, allowing them room to make their escape. These were the ones who remained friendly towards Rhael, helping her hide, by informing her when and where Cigel would search for her. He had never given up, after all these years he still searched for her. Rhael didn't know why she didn't just leave the city. Mainly it was a problem of Forth being a city distanced from the rest, it's sea trade being it's only means of contact with the outside world. In order to get passage on a ship, she would either have to learn the trade, or stow away on one of the smaller ships.
She had had friends that tried the same route, promising to write when they got to where they were going. She'd never heard from a single one of them again. She had to assume the worst, that they had either been discovered, or that they had not been able to make it in the larger cities. Rhael tried not to dwell on the past too much, which was quite easy as she had to focus on the present in able to barely scratch out an existence here. Demonstrate a death scene: <> Serena knelt beside him, brushing a lock of hair from in front of his face. His breathing was labored as he was obviously in pain. She reached into her bag, pulling out a small vial of blue liquid; a healing potion. She unstopped it, popping the seal, and proceeded to move closer, offering it to him. He raised his hand, pushing the blue liquid away. He coughed before speaking. "No, you will need it," he paused, coughing again, before continuing, "more then I will." "No, you need them now," she argued gently, trying to give it to him again. "No, should you become hurt, you will need it more then I. You are far more important then I. Just, let everyone know back home what happened. Lisle.. well, be careful when telling her." He smiled, laughing slightly before the light faded from his eyes, his last breath ragged and long. Serena's smile faded faster then it had come. A trembling hand reached out and closed the elf's eyes. The vampire, Damon, stood a silent watch behind her; keeping an eye on any dangers the forest may possess. Serena sat trembling with silent sobs as Damon stepped closer to her, placing a cold hand on her shoulder. She flinched away at first, but as he knelt beside her, Serena folded into his embrace. He rubbed her shoulder gently, whispering quiet, comforting words. Demonstrate details: Sulina ran the width of the island, taking in the scenery changes, her mind flashing as fast as her feet. Why did the scientists release them? 'They haven't perfected all the flaws. That is a fact.' She ran up the mountain, the chill in the air slowing her limbs. From her perch on the top of the mountain she could see the surrounding area, the forest, the river, the bog, the volcano, all crystal clear.
She noted the pair on the volcano, noted that they were of the Hivemind and her temper flared. She kept it cool though, and left them alone for now. Perhaps she would pursue them later, but for now it was best to leave well enough alone. Two on one would not be quite fair... for them. Sulina was quite sure of her abilities and she headed down the mountain entering the forest a few breaths later.
Sulina observed Kiy and Blindside. 'They are fools. Do they believe that their love is truly real?' She viewed them dispassionately, still within the confines of the trees. Sure they would sense her there, she knew that much. She viewed everyone without compassion, loving no one; hating none but the Hivemind. 'But why do I hate them?' She thought back and could find no valid reason why she would feel such an extreme hatred for anyone. There was only one reason she would feel that way... "The scientists!" she whispered vehemently. Oh if she ever got her hands on one!
She did not truly hate them. Well, she hated them as much as she truly hated anyone. What she hated was having her body messed with, changed. She had been experimented on much more then anyone, the scientists had poked, and probed, and prodded, until she was perfect, and damn near made enough to kill if she ever saw another one of those white coats!
So she waited in the trees, waiting for Kiy to hear her breathing or heartbeat, she didn't quite know how well the girl could hear, but she did know that Blindside couldn't see out of the back of his skull Demonstrate multiple character posting: Saeven ran until he was out of breath and could run no further. He stopped in the middle of town somewhere in a back alley. He stood in the shade, breathing heavily. Out of the shadows stepped a small figure, she had a hood over most of her face, only her left eye showing. Even though she was human right now, Celena was still sensitive to sunlight. Saeven jumped as she stepped up beside him. His eyes narrowed slightly, how long had she been following him? "Jeez Celena, you startled me! What, you don't say 'hello' anymore? Where's Merus?"
She looked at him a moment, trying to hear his thoughts, but as usual caught nothing. Celena sat expectantly, yes, waiting for Merus, but also hoping to catch an insight into Saeven's thoughts should he lapse for even a second. Demonstrate foreshadowing: She flashed him a quick smile, apparently he was more wise to the ways of the streets then he appeared. Grabbing his forearm gently, she pulled him through the crowd of people, most of which readily moved out of the way. Talk of their fighting back had already spread far, by this time tomorrow, the entire city may have heard about it, though she doubted it. More then likely only the lower end of the city will have heard anything, the nobles cared nothing for the antics of the lower citizens.
Most of the guards had recovered from their moment of surprised and came after them hastily. Oddly, some normal looking citizens stepped in their way, barring the way that would bring them closer to their prey. The guards shoved through them easily, but gave Rhael enough time to throw herself, and the boy, into an alley way, out of sight. The alley was quite small though, and they were pressed against the other, with a wall to their backs.
Rhael watched the movement outside of the alley, but no guards stepped forward, and no citizen pointed or yelled, giving away their position. And yet, given their good fortune, she didn't smile. Not a single flicker of joy flashed behind her eyes. She remained watching the crowd that slowly drifted away, waiting for someone, she knew exactly who, to step forward; completely disregarding the fact that her hands were on the chest of a boy she had just met, and that they were in this together.

Username: Hinabi Gysuki
Literacy level: Semi-Literate to Literate
Style of writing: Fantasy, Murder-Mystery, and Animal
Time roleplaying: Four years
Why: Because I’m tired of dealing with people who god-mode or auto hit, and then say they are a great roleplayer. Plus, I want to see what I can do.
Demonstration of vocabulary: Most teens tend to be grumpy on school morning, and perhaps even refuse to wake up. But of course, that was normal teens. And Hau most certainly wasn't a normal teen. When the alarm clock went off, she flung herself out of her bed and rushed over to the window. Why the window? Well that was because her alarm was set to go off around the time the sun rose. She hadn't even thought about getting up for school when she set it. In fact it would be a few more minutes before she thought about her first day in this town.
But the moment she did think about it, her morning was ruined. Closing the blinds and huffing, she sat on her bed. Was she upset about having to go to a place where they forced their ideas on her? Or possibly being in such a large space? Nope. It was the fact that everyone was going to call her Haylee Smith. How can anyone have a name lamer then that? It was so plain. Hau didn't even want the name Haylee, but apparently a name as fancy and 'new-age' as Hau (she didn't even think it was new age) drew too much attention, and thus, name change. Hau absolutely despised plain things. She liked excitement. In fact, excitement and having fun came above her safety on her list of priorities. She'd swallow a bucket of nails if it means the rest of her life would be exciting and fun. It was probably the reason she came along on the rescue plan. Why did she even do that? Ask her and you'll never get a good answer. She did it on a whim. Hau had always been impulsive and rarely thought of things before she did them, even though she was clever.
The small girl would have moped some more, but she had to get ready for school. As the only girl, besides their 'mother', Hau had to be the first to get to the bathroom. She hated when people complained about her taking forever, and she just loved the hot water. Back in the lab, you'd only get hot water if one of the test went well. And that didn't even happen often. For ever success, there was about twenty failures. But, back to getting to the bathroom. The girl grabbed a Lolita styled white dress, that she 'convinced' her 'parents' to buy instead of a smoke detector, before heading to her favorite room. There she took a quick shower and got dressed. looking in the mirror, she vainly admired her reflection.
She wasn't an amazing beauty or anything, but she was very cute. She was short for her age, which only added to it, and had wavy blond hair. Plus the big blue eyes, and you have one cute package. She had always used this to her advantage. People's mental barriers unconsciously got weaker when they talked to a little kid, well at least most of the time. She'd felt others that got really strong at those times. She hated that type...
The small girl hadn't even thought that someone might look at her and think she should still be in elementary school, which was how she looked. Nope, she was almost old enough to be in high school. She'd just say she was a special case. They had taught her quite a bit in the labs, since her powers partially depended on a well developed mind, so she was book smart. Yes, she was sure they'd let her in.
Once she finished staring at her own reflection, some thing she had been doing for a good fifteen minutes, she decided it was time to wake up the others.
"Con-Man, Ross-Loss, Lamb-Boy! Get up!" she sang out, loudly, in her childish voice. Even though she hadn't known the others that long, Hau gave all of them pet names. One more thing that made her seem younger then she was.
Demonstration of character development: "This is no fun anymore," pouted the queen in her soft child like voice. The castle guards and other servants were all very aware of the 'two queens'. In truth there was one queen, but someday she acted so childish and others she was just plain cruel. Today it was the childish queen, who held no love for anything that didn't amuse her. She just wanted fun things, and when I child can't get what she wants, she throws a fit. Normally, that wants a bad thing, but Kijra found the only way of releasing her anger was to destroy something. And she really liked blood. Demon blood. Human blood. Heck even her blood was fun to play with. But she didn't like hurting herself, and since the servants weren't around, she looked at the thrown she had been sitting on a moment ago with cold eyes.
The Insanity demon began tracing around the edges of one of the weapons on the walls. She had requested that they be put up when she first became queen, much to the shock of the castle. She needed something to get her anger out with, but nobody knew about this part of her back then. They must have been surprised when they first saw there 'oh-so-gentle' queen dripping in blood with one of the blades in her hand while she laughed her head off. It really was funny to her. The sound of crunching bones was funny. The sound of screams was musics. The splatter on her face was magical. Really, it did wonders for her skin. But killing servants was a bad idea. It was fine with the human slaves, but demons were better then that. And nobody liked a hieratic, a demon that killed and feed on it's own kind. So her thrown would have to do for now, even though it was her favorite. She'd even named it Limswick. She liked that name. But it was boring her right now. Picking the blade up off the wall, she said one thing.
"Night-night, Limswick."
Crunch!
...Crunch, crunch, crunch, slam, clap, crunch, slam.
"Oh no! Who broke my thrown? It was my favorite!" came the demoness' own voice. Funny thing was, she really didn't know who did this. Parts of her mind were starting to go. Sometimes she would do something seven times before she realized she'd done it already. How sad. And this time, she even forgot the funny game she turned breaking that chair into.
Demonstration of roleplay starter: Phear wasn't the type of place that one would feel at home in, with it's bizarre trees and even more bizarre population, but Hau was sure she had an advantage. She had gotten here through the world of Insanity, a world with a population as strange as this one's and with trees that talked, so this wasn't much of a change for her. Trying to use that advantage, she slinked through the tree, covering herself in dark red stains, allowing her to blend in with the blood which covered the ground. The thought of changing to red from her signature colour, white, was appalling, but it had to be done. She couldn't afford to under estimate her opponents this time. Normally she would be slaking off with this battle, since teleporting away was simple for her, but now they had her brother. She couldn't let them hurt him…
After creeping through the trees, and almost getting eaten by them many, many times, the girl spotted another female, dressed in a blue shirt with lighter blue rings and a long darker blue skirt. Ah this must be the girl she was supposed to target, otherwise why would they be in the same area? Even if she was wrong, Hau didn't care. That would just be one less opponent for her to fight in the future. The thought that she wasn't going to make it to the next round had never crossed her mind. She was a powerful witch, after all. Now to use element of surprise…
"Hey, you, girl! Prepare to die!" Then again, Hau was never a quiet one. She tended to really over do things.
Demonstration of symbolism: ((If you’re looking for symbolism, look at ever other post. It’s in every one. I love to use it, but I can’t write a whole post out of it.))
Demonstrate a romance scene: Sitting alone in her room, Devi wrapped her hands around her knees. It wasn’t far. It wasn’t far. No matter how much she loved someone, they would always fall for someone else. It felt like her heart had been wrenched out and someone had come and repeatedly stabbed her still living corpse. Even though it had been four whole days, she couldn’t get over it. To see him with… With… That thing, was just too cruel. Maybe she should just sleep, and sleep, and sleep. She could dream of him, loving her, and only her. Or she could even dream of punishing that evil woman, but sleep would not come. She couldn’t even cry herself to sleep, since the tears kept her away.
The tears kept flowing and flowing down her cheeks, her face growing red and puffy from sorrow. She beat that if that man even looked at her now, he would be repulsed. She wasn’t pretty like other girls, even if she tried to be. Why must she fall for a man she could never be with? From birth it was decided, he was off limits. Her first love too. He left at such a young age, and broke no only her’s, but her mother’s heart too. Then he surprised them by falling for a guy. It was definitely a lost cause now. And her second love was following in his footsteps.
The sound of footsteps, ironically, snapped her out of her trance. Darn it, she couldn’t be seen this way. She wiped her eyes one her sleeve and grabbed a book and put it in front of her Face. Her love walked right past her and went to his bed on the opposite side of the room. Had he been looking, he would have noticed her labored breathing as she tried to hold back another round of tear, but he didn’t. Once he was asleep, her tears grew worse than ever. But this was her fate. The fate of a girl with an Electra complex, who later fell for her twin brother.
Demonstrate an action scene: The peace shattered like glass as Riley threw himself at Uaxh. The young girl wasn’t prepared for this and took the full blunt of the attack, falling to the ground and being pinned by his weight. She couldn’t force him off, because he was three times her size, and she couldn’t fight to get him off. Every bone in her body pleaded for her to give in, not just because she was a pacifist, but because she was crippled. It made her want to laugh. A knight trying to kill a harmless, crippled little girl, but it wasn’t his fault. The queen was the one who wanted her dead.
When the male raised his blade to finish her, she rolled out of the way, since most of his weight was off her. Forcing herself to get up, the girl felt her knees wrench in pain. Normally she had crutches to help her, but now her warped legs had to take all the weight. Due to this, she almost fell, but the fact she would have to get up and go through this again kept her standing. As if they were chess pieces, the male waited for her to make her move. She could kiss him for that, because as a spell caster, she took longer to work then he did.
Making a few brief motions with her hand, she summoned strange shadow creatures. They moved of their own accord, but she knew they would attack for her. She was their creator, after all. When she made a flick of her wrist at the red headed knight, the creatures flew at him. Instantly Uaxh felt bad. He waited for her to move, and she had nothing against him, and yet she would kill him Then again, it was herself or him, and even though she would always say she valued others more than herself, she would kill any number of strange knights to keep herself alive.
Demonstrate an inner monologue: No more… I can't Hau thought, sadly, as she trying to pull herself back up. She'd hit the tree softer then she should have, but her back was still bruised badly. Also, the tree was dead, but she didn't give a s**t about that. Goddess, that girl didn't even seem like a killer, and she had done this. Perhaps she hadn't meant to hit her this hard, perhaps she had… Wouldn't you like to know? But back to Hau's thoughts. I can't win like this. My flames can't burn her. She's too fast, no, too sudden for me to put up shields against. And she's too strong to fight. Goddess! I can't d- Did I just say I couldn't do something? Me? Not able to beat someone? I must have hit my head too. I'm the bloody Witch of Determinate, well, technically apprentice Witch of Determination… But still, I will not give up. By this point she had pulled herself to her feet, and was glaring at the other girl. I'll need to use 'that' move on her… But I'll need time for that. I guess I'll need my weapon too.
Demonstrate a death scene: The cafeteria would probably be the safest place. Turing around, I headed to the cafeteria. It was nice and big, as if it was built for a school that had more than a hundred students. And by the way that this room looked, most of those students didn't even eat in here. Of the hundred students, I counted ten in here. But that means more space for me.
I sat down a table, one that had only one other girl. She- Holy crap she is a deer! Sorry about that, but seriously, this girl was like the human form of a deer. She had light brown hair, cut to mid-way down her back, big brown eyes, and olive toned skin. It was kind of a relief that she had a normal skin tone, unlike the freakishly pale minions of the Hau girl. She was giving me a slight smile, which was nice.
"Umm, hello," I said, trying to start a conversation.
"Hello, Namida Shinkuu of the Mirian people," the girl replied, scaring the pants off me. How did she know my full name, and from where I haled. Freaky.
"H-how did you know that?" I asked, stuttering. She just smiled at me.
"I'm a Witch of Truth. I see many things and my words are never wrong, unless I wish them to be," she answered, happy. "I'm Fawna, by the way." Oh the irony. The deer girl's name is Fawna. "Yes, it is very funny. The thing is, I come from a long line of shape-shifters, and they believed I would become a deer, so they named me Fawna, but I'm a witch. And a witch can only be a witch. Some day, I may get enough magic to change my shape, but I will forever be a witch."
The girl's words struck my heart through like a blade. She understood what I thought nobody did. She had the same story as me. A stranger among her family, marked to be a witch, yet born of something else. I had always been so alone, even with my sisters.
"That must have been very sad," Fawna said, snapping me out of my inner monologue. "I had no siblings, so I didn't have anything to compare myself to." I wish she would stop doing that; she was reminding me of Hau. "Oh I'm sorry!" Stop that! And she stopped.
"Well anyway, can you tell me where to buy my lunch?" I asked.
"Oh, why don't you let me get that for you? I'm about to get mine too," Fawna said, and before I could say something about it, she ran off. A few minutes later she came make with two gourmet meals. Mine was some sort of strange meat, a salad, and a glass of some purple drink. My new friend had just a salad. What a deer. Taking a big bite of my snack, I smiled, it had a great taste. Fawna looked down at her meal and the smile on her face faded.
"Are you okay? " I asked her, but it didn't come out like that, I was starting to lose feeling in my mouth and the last word came out all slurred.
"Please remember, I never lied to you. Not once. You just trusted too easily," came the little voice, softer than ever before. I got up and went to ask what was going on, but then suddenly, my legs collapsed under me. I landed right in the food, unable to move. Unable to talk. My vision was fading; my sense of touch was gone. All that was left was my hearing.
"I'm sorry," said who I assumed to be Fawna. "But I can't allow this school to be ripped apart anymore. Please return to a better fate, and finish your duty."
That, and the eerie sound of giggling, was the last thing I heard before I slipped into an eternal sleep.
Demonstrate details: A pale breeze ruffled the flowers in the large rose garden. All sorts of flowers grew there, from daisies to Lena Roses. Though in the center of it all, most of the flowers seemed to be flattened and a fancy white table had been set up. On either side of the table sat a pair of silver-white haired twins, one male, one female. The male sat in a wheel chair while the female tried to spoon feed him.
"Come on, Hyuu! You need to eat or you'll die!" exclaimed the female twin, her irritation hidden in her whining voice but clear in her powder blue eyes. "You don't understand what Hau had to do to get Dertah to let you come here! Hau told her Hau was gonna teacher you magic and make you her apprentice. And Faena thinks the food is for me, if she finds out Hau was lying, she'll take away her Z." For the last statement, Hau used the common name for the painkiller drug, zydrate.
The other twin, Hyuu, just looked at her with innocent eyes. Even though to most people would see only that, Hau could see a person with no will and no future. Hyuu couldn't eat because he didn't have the will to. Then there was no point to the food. Snapping her fingers, Hau made the food disappear in a blaze of white fire. At least she got to keep her Z, but that didn't make her feel better. Hau and Hyuu's story was sad. Hyuu didn't have the will to do anything, not to move, or eat, or even speak. He was like a doll, but somehow, Hau developed a sisterly affection for him. No, sisterly wasn't the right word. It was almost a motherly affection. Well, however it was said, it meant that she was very protective of him. They'd always been together. She'd pretty much raised him, even though she was a very awful girl.
Maybe it was because she was that way that she did raise him. In the back of her mind, she dreamed he would become her apprentice and a powerful sorcerer. Then they would take over all of Sorrow and rule together. They could burn down villages together if he wished, and they would be happy forever. But that was just a dream. Right now all she could hope for was that he would become a true person.
Demonstrate multiple character posting: “This is about as fun as a barrel full of monkeys…” Joseph, code named Joker, said, trying to twist himself out of the ropes keeping him in place, only to tighten them. He’d never been the happiest guy, and being tied up like this made him even more nasty tempered. Then there was the person he was with. Why? Why, of all people, him? He would rather be caged with a bear then tied up with this guy. Then at least death would be swift.
“Being stuck with a bunch of moneys wouldn’t be fun. They’re scary,” said his ‘brother’, the tiny Asian boy called Akilo. No one knew why Akilo was the why he was, and nobody wanted to ask, least he begin to talk. Akilo never stopped talk, except to eat. Joseph was pretty sure Akilo was mentally retarded, or something, too, because he didn’t get sarcasm, or anything that wasn’t ‘G’ rated. The boy continued to babble about something or another and Joseph felt like his head was about explode, in fact he would be happy for that to happen. It seemed, for once in his life, he would have to swallow his pride and ask for help.
“Akilo, please untie me?” he asked, making his voice sugar sweet. Please, please let this work.
“Will you play with me if I do?” the little boy asked, making Joseph nod like crazy. The boy walked over to him and undid the skipping rope, letting it fall to the ground before grinning. Joseph stretched his bruised body and looked at the little boy. He was never going to live this down. Getting beat up and captured by his twelve year old ‘brother’, the person he was supposed to be protecting.
Demonstrate foreshadowing: The light of the full moon shone outside Bloodstar's den. Ah, it was the night of the gathering already. Lucky for her that she had already decided which cats she would take. Her loyal deputy of course had to go, and even if she didn't, Bloodstar would always pick her. Call it favoritism if you like, but she had her reasons. Secret reasons, buried deep, deep into the clan's heritage.
The other cats she would call for were Quietheart, Sunpelt, Miragepaw and Rabbitleap if he was healed enough. If he wasn't, she would bring Midnightpaw instead. The dark ginger leader didn't like bringing apprentices without their mentors, but if she only brought four cats with her, the other clans might think she was weak. That was something she wouldn't stand for.
Walking out into the clearing she thought over what she was going to say at the gathering. It was the perfect time to expose Moorclan's crime and get some answers. Why would they attack to kill? The only good answer was that one of their clan mates was killed by one of her's, but she knew that could never have happened. Warriors didn't kill unless they needed to. Perhaps that was what happened, but why would one of her warriors not tell her what happened? They must have something else to hide. As she pondered over this, she picked a rabbit out of the fresh-kill pile. Rabbits weren't common on their territory, but everyone and a while, one showed up. But the rabbit was too big for her, so she flicked her tail, summoning Swiftstream to her den.
