We all thought that we have put some things in a "safe place." Then when we go to retrieve it, it's not there, and we could swear that we put it in that place. So my brain is not working anymore, and here is my question...
Where have you found missing objects, but then ask yourself, "Why did I put it there?"

If you need more information, post or send PM. Please and thank you.

I do that once a week at least. Most recently it was putting my car keys on my headboard. I looked on the hook by my door, then I looked all over my bed, since that's where they usually are. Half an hour later I see them sitting in plain sight on my headboard.

Yeah, I do that a lot, too.

Why did I put this here?
Doushite koko ni okimashita kashira?
どうしたここに置きましたかしら?

As an aside, if you don't know, "kashira" is the feminine way of asking a rhetorical question or asking yourself a question. The gender neutral way of saying it is "kana."
