Some like pictures in their books, some not so much. But either way, if you like some sort of reading, this is sure the place to be!

I'm in need of new manga. D:
And normal books for that matter.

Manga:
Been reading MiXiM recently, but I'm gonna finish that soon...
I've read all them mainstream stuff you'll find most people talking about, as well.

Books:
I read fantasy and sy-fy stuff. Just bought the first and second books of Karen Miller, the series "KingMaker, KingBreaker"
Pretty good. =o
Lots of magic. ♥

Neer heard of those o.o

Im looking for somethign like Harry Potter and Eragon. I liek the writing style (as stupid as it sounds) but its written where its simple to understand yet its still mature and... challenging i guess? Iono >.<

Any ideas?

And Sora, you might liek the Eragon novels. Its about dragons and riders and elves and dwarves. Total fantasy story but still good. The movie was wwaaaaaayy horrible though.

lol. I've read and own all of the Eragon books.

I'm not sure if I know of a writing style that's similar to those...I'll have to look and see what I come up with. =o

Pierce isn't really all that similar in writing style, but she's easy to understand. Got lots of magic and knights and stuff. Lots of fantasy creatures. I really like them. You should give them a try sometime.

Tamora Pierce. Any of her books are good. I still haven't read one of her series though...

Also, Jim Butcher is awesome. owo. His writing style is really unique. He has two completely different series though. Different writing style for both. One has a wizard living in Chicago, called the Dresden Files. He fights all the bad magic stuff, and saves the world a few times while he's at it. But in an awesome funny way. And he has a talking skull named Bob. =) Bob is a perverted skull though, who is addicted to cheesy romance novels.
His other series is called Codex Alrea. whole new world with magic called furies. Like people are born with the abilities to control these magics (which are pretty much the different elements) but the main character doesn't have that ability. Goes through his life being the only one who can't use the furies in the whole world. He's still awesome. Though this one might not be to your liking as the writing style is pretty intense and not exactly easy to understand like Eragon and what not. Bit harder. I still like it, so check it out. You might like it. ^^

Well she has a fair few series, but I like one called "The first test" is the beginning of the series "Protector of the small" and it's pretty good. Not all that much magic in that one.
Another is "Wild mage" but I'm not sure if that's the first one or not...That one has a lot of magic stuff in it. =)

There's also Beka Cooper, but that one is written like a journal. Still good.

Brisinger was good. I actually liked it.

I like the story ideas, mostly.
But his writing could use a bit of improvement, in my opinion. >_>
But I'm picky.
I though his 3rd book was gonna be horrible. o_o
But it wasn't. It was as good as the other 2.

I understand that. I'm just picky.
I also want to be a writer, so I pay attention to writing styles a little too much. >_>

I pay attention to writing styles too, dunno if thats cause I write too or just notice things.

Oh hve you ever read Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E Pearson? Its like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, ceot Romeo doesnt know either. And the girl is a writer too. I fell in love with it biggrin

Theres also Luna (transexual story from the point of view from the tran's sister), Keeping You a Secret (a bi gay les story), and Define Normal (about how the first appearance cant define a person, sterotypes).
Theyre all by the same author (forgot her name, i can look it up if you want though) and she does a really good job with portraying each social issue too. She has others too but these are just the ones ive read and love
