Not too sure if you guys know about this but Fox Studios is making a live action Cowboy Bebop film for 2011. All I know so far is the producer of the Matrix Films and A Scanner Darkly is behind it as well as Keanu Reeves will be playing Spike Spiegel.

It will be crap because Keanu Reeves is playing Spike. And the girl playing Ed is too femaleish. Ed is supposed to look like a boy that is the main joke in the episode where Ed first appears.

Hidachi Sojico It will be crap because Keanu Reeves is playing Spike. And the girl playing Ed is too femaleish. Ed is supposed to look like a boy that is the main joke in the episode where Ed first appears. I thought Ed was a boy when I first saw her... I mean she looks like a boy... and her name is Edward... Who doesn't get confused!?!?

I'm primarily concerned about Reeves playing Spike. In all of the roles I've seen him play, his character is made of stone. Barely any life, y'know? Spike is full of life! I just don't want him to slaughter Spike as a character.

As for the woman playing Ed... I'm sure she'll do okay. As long as they don't really glam her up, I think she'll make a pretty okay Ed.

I don't think they'll get it right. neutral Though if you try not to compare it to the original anime, it might be a passable live-action on its own.

I'll watch it for sure when it comes out. But my hopes aren't too high on this one. though the original producer from the animated series is overseeing it ..so there is some hope it won't be a total mess.
