Cyonian Commune
The Cyonians are a very strange race in that they are made up of pure energy. It is rumored that they were at one time normal, physical beings like everything else but have since evolved, however the Cyonians never tell anyone if this is true or not.
Cyonian history and culture is mostly a mystery to outsiders. When encountered sometimes they will attack for no reason and other times they will just ignore others. They have a strong sense of community and very little individualism, this is because when they merge together they all share their thoughts and there are no secrets. They are like one body with many minds.
All Cyonians have the psychic abilities of Psychic Lightning and Energy Manipulation sense they are creatures of pure energy. Cyonians have no known technology of any kind or ships for that matter. When they wish to travel long distances Cyonians meld together in large groups to form what they call the "Merged." In this form their combined power allows them to move an much faster speeds as well as enter Hyperspace. Also their abilities greatly increase, allowing them to create enormous bolts of lightning that can strike the surface of a planet. They can also tap into radios over great distance to communicate with "lesser beings."
Cyonian physiology is incredibly amazing simply that they do not have a body. They are able to hover and fly and even travel in space if they wish. They can also live in any environment. Cyonians do not seem to reproduce but that does not matter because they are virtually immortal. In battle only energy weapons like lasers and plasma seem to have any effect. The intense and sudden burst of energy can break up a Cyonian and cause his energy form to become scattered. But after only a few hours this energy can come back together to continue it's life. The only thing that is known to be able to kill a Cyonian is a Black Hole. Although they are very powerful the intense gravity of a Black Hole can easily swallow a whole Merged of Cyonians.
