Pantheionian Theocracy

The Pantheironians started out far different than where they are now. Originally they were a very powerful race who used genetic manipulation to make their bodies 'perfect' and they strove to be immortal. Originally in their struggle for immortality they tried to extend their life through their technology, but this only staved off death for so long. Then they found that by cloning their bodies and transferring their consciousness to a new body they could be immortal. This worked for many hundreds of years, but overtime their clones started to deteriorate because they had been making copies of copies of copies of copies for so long that the clones became unstable. Thus the fearful Pantheionians searched the galaxy for anything that could prolong their life. They encountered the Eldar and tried to kidnap some Eldar to use their bodies for new cloning material. The Eldar did not like this and they were able to drive them further out into the galaxy. Then they discovered a primitive world: Earth. There they found that Humans were a very simple species to clone, so they abducted some and used them for new genetic material. At this point the Pantheionians had died off to only a few hundred individuals, but with the humans they found a way to survive. Although they were forced to give up their original bodies and to look like humans they would survive.

They feared going through the same problem again so they decided to colonize Earth so that they could watch over their genetic material closely. Their advanced technology made it easy to pose as the gods that the Humans had already created and they adopted the new names that the Humans had for their gods. Overtime however the Humans were abused and used for whatever their "gods" commanded. The Humans had had enough and rebelled, the Pantheionians could not bring themselves to destroy their genetic material, but they were forced to leave since their subjects had become rebellious.

When they left the Pantheionians took as many of their remaining loyal subjects as they could and brought them back to their homeworlds. Their the loyal Human slaves were encouraged to breed and make more Humans that would one day be used by the Pantheionians when their technology could no longer sustain their body. The Pantheionians realized where they had gone wrong on Earth so they gave many of their subjects basic technology to make their lives more comfortable. They also treated them with more respect and although the Humans are clearly an underclass they are content with what they have.

The Pantheionian Theocracy is ruled by gods who are allied together against outside threats but when there is no war they fight and conspire amongst each other to acquire more power. Their soldiers and servants are mostly the Humans that serve them. Society is much like that of Earth in ancient times, with temples and worship playing a major part in society. The gods "gift" their servants with technology to make their lives better if they serve them well. Collectively both Humans and gods are called "Pantheionians."

(If you choose to make a Pantheionian character you can either be a god or one of their servants. When picking a god you must pick one that existed in some early Earth religion. Modern religions (Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and any others that have been founded in the last 4000 years do not count because the Pantheionians left before they were created.) Also some gods and godesses I may want to reserve for Major NPCs so please ask first)

Elite Guards
Horus Guards: Horus Guards are the elite infantry on the battlefield. They are often used for commando missions and protecting their god should he choose to fight. They often accompany their gods and serve as body guards around their palaces and ships.
User Image
Serpent Guards: Serpent Guards are usually found guarding important temples, shrines, palaces, and other places that do not see much combat. Do not be fooled into believing they are weak fighters because they are in fact very deadly.
User Image
Anubis Guards: Anubis Guards are the most elite soldiers in the Pantheionian Theocracy. Their usual missions are as advanced stealth warriors. They excel in using hit and run attacks on far larger forces and are good as assassins as well. Sometimes they are also used as body guards for gods, although this is rare and usually it is only one or two Anubis Guards.

Technology

Weapons

Staff Weapon: The staff weapon is the standard weapon of the Pantheionians. It is a long, metal staff that can be used for close range and that also can fire a large plasma blast from one end. The rate of fire is slow, but it is a much larger blast than most plasma rifles and other hand held plasma weapons.
User Image
Zat'nik'tel: This weapon is a secondary weapon for Pantheionian ground forces. It works by firing a bolt of electricity that overwhelms a target's synapses causing it to be knocked out and allows for capturing. Repeated shots can kill a target. The weapon looks like a snake and when armed the head springs upward. It is sometimes called a "Zat."
User Image
Plasma Cannon: Exactly like a Plasma Rifle, but on a larger scale.
Turbolaser: A Turbolaser is highly volatile gas excited by a laser and then discharged through a firing aperture. The result is a ball of very powerful energy. This weapon has an advantage over plasma weapons because of it's increased range and it has an advantage over laser weapons because of it's superior firepower.
Hand Device: The Hand Device is only used by the gods and is forbidden to all others. It is activated by thought. It has the ability to create a powerful shock wave that can throw back enemies. The shock wave can also deflect solid projectile weapons. If held against an opponents head and activated it will shake the target's brain so violently that they will die in seconds but not before suffering greatly. The Hand Device can be used to block a Zat blast simply by lifting your hand, the Zat blast will be attracted to it and immediately absorbed. Hand Devices also have a built in shield generator.

Other Technology

Ring Transporter: Ring Transporters work by a series of several large rings descending around an individual and absorbing his matter. The matter is then transported and reassembled by another set of rings somewhere else, there by immediately teleporting the individual over great distances. They have incredible range, able to transport someone to the other side of a planet, or to a ship in orbit. Ships can also teleport individuals back and forth.
User Image
Healing Device: The Healing Device is activated by thought and used by gods and trusted priests to heal people of injuries ranging from broken bones, battle wounds, and some diseases.
User Image
Sarcophagus: The Sarcophagus is a powerful device that can cure any injury or disease. It can also be used to extend life and even bring back the recently deceased. The Sarcophagus is only used by the gods and sometimes by their loyal servants. To be healed by such a device is consider a great gift from one's god.
User Image
Personal Shield: The Personal Shield creates an energy shield that can protect the wearer from almost anything, however the shield generator only lasts a short time before running out of power.
Masks: Masks make it appear that the wearer has the head of some sort of creature. They are made from many metallic plates that can be retracted into the collar, and serve to reinforce the perception that the Pantheionians are gods. Masks are worn by some gods and by elite guards of the gods. Masks inside have an advanced array of sensors that make the wearer many times more aware of his surroundings. They have night vision, heat sensors, and motion sensors to detect movement around them. They can also amplify hearing and aid in aiming by connecting with whatever weapon the user is holding and showing them what they are pointing at.

Starships

Name: Scarab Class Fighter
Appearance: User Image
Weapons: 2 Plasma Cannons
Description: Scarabs are a fairly simple fighter. They are able to carry 2 people (although 1 pilot can be enough) and have quite good speed, maneuverability, and range. They are decently armored and their 2 plasma cannons are great for ground targets, other fighters, and even capital ships when their shields are down.

Name: Tel'tak Class Shuttle
Appearance: User Image
Weapons: 2 Plasma Cannons
Description: The Tel'tak is a small and fast ship with moderate armor and minimal firepower. When used by soldiers it mostly serves as a smaller and harder to detect transport ship, but most often it is used outside of the military. For it's civilian role it is a great cargo and passenger ship since it has it's own Hyperdrive.

Name: Alkesh Class Destroyer
Appearance: User Image
Weapons: 2 Turbolaser Cannons, 8 Plasma Cannons
Description: The Alkesh is an escort ship, used to protect larger ships. It is quite weak compared to other capital ships, but they are cheap and very expendable with their small crews. Alkesh are also used to transport large amounts of troops to the surface of a planet as well as provide air support for ground forces.

Name: Mandjet Class Cruiser
Appearance: User Image
Weapons: 8 Turbolasers, 20 Plasma Cannons
Description: Mandjets traditionally serve as long range patrol ships and protect small colonies from raids. They are moderately well armed and have good shields but they are not capable of fighting for very long before being destroyed against a more dedicated warship. They can also carry fighters and other small craft.

Name: Ha'tak Class Battleship
Appearance: User Image
Weapons: 12 Turbolasers, 40 Plasma Cannons
Description: Ha'taks are the primary warship in the Pantheionian fleet. They are quite expensive but not too much so that they are too difficult to mass produce. Each god commands hundreds of these ships and uses them to protect their holdings. They can also enter an atmosphere and land on the surface, serving as a base of operations for ground forces. They carry up to 150 Scarab class fighters in their hangars as well as other small ships.

Name: Cairn Class Carrier
Appearance: User Imagec
Weapons: 50 Turbolasers, 150 Plasma Cannons
Description: The Cairn Class Carriers are the most expensive ships in the Pantheionian navy but the cost is well worth it. They are extremely well armed and can carry 250 Scarab fighters. Their shields and armor are quite powerful and they have many weapon batteries for battling other capital ships. The gods use these as their personal flagships but since they are so expensive a god is lucky to have just one Cairn. Many gods have none and those that do rarely use them in battle for fear of losing them.
