Broken World

For as long as the denizens of Lankhmar could remember, the great forests had sustained the many tribes who lived on the forest floor and amidst the branches of the ancient trees. Though their technology was several years behind that of the citizens of the Outlands, many of their number were well-versed in the ways of magik. Those who were chosen at birth (or soon after) by the spirits of the forest could wield powers they were gifted with, provided that they were worthy of the gift.
However, the path one must travel to master their gift was a hard road indeed. The creatures who lived in the forests often envied the chosen, often attacking or misleading those who sought higher enlightenment.
Despite these hardships, there remained a council of magik users, who took it upon themselves to instruct and guide the most promising of young chosen ones.
Those who had greater skill in more mundane pasttimes usually sought work with the carpenters, millworkers, or the woodcutters. As of late, however, the trade from nearby Ba'ckshe Naveir brought new technology. Devices composed of bronze and copper, such as the horseless carriage, the portable mill and the cross-cutter, shortened the time that the work of the villagers usually took by half.
Many of the villagers praised the new tools and machines, firmly believing that the new creations could bring them much more money and trade than ever before.

Unfortunately, not all felt that this was true. Since more of the forest was destroyed before it could replenish itself, the spirits became angry and told those who they considered most capable in the ways of magik to retaliate for their sakes. The forest had been wronged, and they cried out for justice.
Those who heard the spirit's cries took up their weapons and strove to drive out the presence that had caused so much torture to their beloved homeland. Soon, the land of Lankhmar was tore in twain, leaving the population to form two factions: the Mundane and the Magikal.
Will you join the side of those who seek to provide newer traditions for Lankhmar, or those who would preserve its history? Or will you be the one to bring about doom for their world as they know it? Only time will tell...

Rules

* Only ONE race per character.
* One Character per person.
* Limited cursing, if any, is allowed. However, please try to keep it to a minimum.
* No godmoding, godmodding, or double-posting.
*NO flaming, quoting, or sever page stretching.
*Also, MUST be semi-lit/completely literate in your posts.
* The sleeve pistols are two per person.
* Dragons can only carry weapons other than their claws, teeth, or breath IF they are cyborgs and have had them built into their bodies. Dragons can also use the spines on their bodies, but you should be specific about where they are. (Along the backbone, covering the end of the tail, or like a porcupine.)
*None of the humanoid races are restricted to any specific weapons. For the sake of equality, I'm going to assume that each character knows how to use their weapon/weapons well, as in being fairly proficient.
*Fauns and Nymphs are strictly Magikal races, being native to the great forests. Those who were born outside the forests still hold ties to their roots, hence their magikal abilities.
*Steampunk cyborgs are to be listed as "Steampunk Elf/dwarf/etc" and should have backstory describing how they came to be what they are. *Steampunk cyborgs can have up to three weapons, but no more than one large weapon. The third weapon must be explained via biography, such as having two rapiers and a steampistol, or two steampistols and a steambuss. They cannot have more than two of the same weapon, as well.

*There will be a maximum of 0-6 dragons in the rp at any given time, due to their size as well as their strength and abilities.
*Those who choose to side with Magik can either control two elements equally, or have greater control over a single element.
The elements and their spirits are as follows: Air, goverened by Baezilik; Earth, watched over by Gundra; Water, controlled by Salirish; Fire, dealt out by Selezu.
*Characters may form a weapon IN CASE OF EMERGENCY from their chosen element, but only if they control ONE element. For example, someone who only controls fire could forge a temporary sword or spear of flames during the time that such an item was required.
*Dragon characters can control any of the elements, but to a limited extent. For example, a dragon who originated in the ocean would have greater control over water than it would over other elements, such as earth or air.

*If anyone has any questions whatsoever, feel free to pm me. You can also pm me with suggestions for this or future rps, if you so wish.
