lol, when I'm working out I usually think of the song "Beat It" by Michael Jackson for some reason.. Like if coach is making me run 200s I just think of that song to keep the adrenaline going.

you can sing a song to keep beat but keep ur pace up but ease up and counting beats like 1, 2, 3, 4 or you can say in your head come on_____(team name or your name)___can help and breathe don't talk...cause you use alot more oxygen...some people dont like to think or sing a song when they are running...it distracts them...you can think and imagine you getting the gold or finishing the race....hope this helps

don't sing while you run because it's hard to breath then especially in the winter time

Golden-Future What are some of the things you think about while running?
i agree with mostly everyone else in the respect that it can mess up your pace. personally, when im in a race i think about school. i run cc so my race takes a good 20 min. a lot of time to think ex: if i have a test in social studies the next day...ill try to make a timeline in my head of all the events. Then i find it keeps me from thinking too much about my running and also helps on the test cause i can think "when i was going around that turn i was thinking about this so i know im right" another ex is if theres a clock running i like to do math eqations to find my pace and see if its increasing/decreasing ect.
however..if i do sing, its usually to catch someone if theres someone in front of me i focus on them and tell myself im going to catch them by the end of the verse/chorus/song ect. also works and helps me go faster
hope this helps! ^_^
ps:please quote if you reply. heehee
