[[OOC: I forget some details....but I'm assuming you did too, so we're even lol
Oh, this doesn't really effect you, but I think I'll implement Stitch at one point. I kinda decided to make him and Raven intertwine :] ]]

An entire month has passed. Raven continued to work at the cafe down the street, and continued to live with Larcel. She called her mom often to let her know that--yes--she was fine. Her mother was so worried about her. Why was that? Raven was out of her hands. Her mother didn't have to worry. That was the point. To not worry her poor mother anymore.

It was selfish, but Raven got a guilty pleasure of visiting her mom at the hospital once a week. It was hardly to really visit her mother, but she went to see the Lost Ones. She loved talking to them and setting them free. The hospital was the best place to do that too, even if it was a lengthy commute from the apartment. She couldn't mind. She would never mind.

She came home--to the apartment--after an evening spent with the lost ones. She turned the key in the lock and entered the apartment. She wondered if Larcel was upstairs working, or out, or doing something else...she hardly talked to him. She didn't like to talk to a lot of people, for that matter. Still, she felt obligated to ask him if he wanted something for dinner. She tended to make dinners to ease being a burden on yet someone else. So she would him--if he was in the apartment--and ask him what he wanted to eat. If he wasn't home, she would begin on the easiest dish she could think of.

I am the first shadow at the end of the hallway
I spin the carousel, the laughter fades away

Upon opening the front door, Raven would be greeted by the overly affectionate cat, Morla. First her little face would poke out, and as Raven moved in she'd trot back, then leap at the young girl's legs, rubbing her scent all over them, purring softly. At the top of the stairs it was dark, however, across the living room Raven could see clear into the kitchen. There she would see Larcel, his glasses riding low on his nose, an apron tied around his waist, a hot tray of cooking in his oven-mitted hands. He set them down on top of the stove and closed the oven door. A soft play of warm light seemed to dance around him for a moment, his features coming across as soft and gentle. His green eyes gentle with a quiet joy in them.

"Hello, Raven. I just finished the last batch of cookies," he said in the cheery voice he had when he seemed to radiate light. Not like the passive, almost grumpy voice he had, when he was all sharp and dull. Despite his mood swings he never seemed to take them out on Raven, he might go up to his office and loud banging would ensue, very rarely some yelling, but never ever at Raven. "I wanted some cookies," he continued, starting to pry them off the sheet and move them to where the rest of the cookies were on a plate, "but I didn't want to go out, and we had all the ingredients anyway."

Morla would stay near Raven, allowing her to walk freely now, turning her little kitty eyes to the staircase, gazing up it.

"What did you want for dinner?" Larcel finally said, clearing out a space on the stove, moving the cookie sheet to the sink.

((Please introduce Stitch. I'd love to have him in this RP.))

Raven eventually would pick up Morla, having an affectionate spot to Morla. She adored cats. "Oh, I could have brought some cookies home from work..." The cafe* she worked at they also sold baked goods, like cookies. "Oh, but I doubt I could have snuck home as many as you made." She laughed subtly, walking into the kitchen. "They smell so good! What kind are they?" She paused, "Oh, I was going to ask you what you wanted to eat. Do you want to order out? Or I could cook? I wouldn't mind. You cooked the cookies, didn't you? I could cook pasta or maybe I could go out and get some more ingredients if there is a special dish you wanted--"

Just then, the front door knocked. Outside was a particular set of companions. A pre-teen boy stood next to a mid-twenties adult. The boy had a scarf wrapped around his neck up to below his nose, a patch over top of his right eye with a scar running across his left. He had think black hair sprawled across his scalp. Next to him, in contrast, was a tall lean man with a drench coat with a pointed hunters hat. His hair was long and brown, pulled back into a pony tail behind his head. His eyes were shielded by small-shaded sunglasses. To top off his look, he had a shortening cigarette balancing on the corner of his lips. The boy's expression seemed neutral, curious at best, while the older man appeared to be annoyed.

[[* = If you can't tell, I'm basing where she works where I work lol.

Also, I'm introducing Stitch xD I was going to anyways, but your invite made it oh-so-easy for me to feel ethical about it lol]]

"Let's cook something," he said cheerfully, then shadows shifted across his face, his features, pointed and hard for just a moment as he continued, "ordering out too much isn't healthy." Then the shadows seemed to settle and his face beamed with that soft glow. "Why don't you cook then." And he grabbed a cookie, bit it, then showed it to her.

"Chocolate chip." slightly muffled. He was about to head upstairs, but there was a knock on the door. He chewed and swallowed, then moved across the living room. He reached for the knob, gripping the cold brass in his hand, then opened the door. He looked over the two figures, not recognizing them one bit.

"May I help you?" He questioned.

Raven smiled, "Alright! I'll, ah, surprise you then maybe?" She thought hard. She was by no means an excellent cook, but she had the ins and outs so that she could make a proper meal. When he left the kitchen, she began to check the ingredients in the cupboards. With the supplies they had as inspiration, she decides to go for a more Italian dish: lasagna and caesar salad.

The older man blew out his last puff of smoke, putting out his cigarette on the welcome mat. "I'm honestly not sure." He sighed, rubbing his neck.

The boy wasted no time finding his way into the house. He took a few steps in, grabbing Larcel's hand and tugged him further and further inside. The older man followed, closing the door. "Just...amuse him. He as a few, erm, oddities I guess." The older man sighed, taking out another cigarette and lighting it inside the house. He chewed on the end.

The young boy held both of Larcel's hands. He looked at Larcel's eyes with his single blue eye. Larcel could feel his body in turmoil, but he couldn't move his hands nor gaze from the boy. Before Larcel could fully grasp that the boy was not ordinary, his body split into two copies of itself: both of Larcel's forms.

"Neat," the tall man said, blowing smoke from his nostrils.

Raven heard the commotion and walked into the living room, seeing two of Larcel and two strange men.

"L-Larcel...what is going on?" She gripped the door frame. Something was very, very wrong.

Larcel's hands were both in the boy's guiding him across his living room. He wanted, and tried, to tell the older man to not smoke in his home, but he couldn't pull his gaze from Stitch's single clear blue eye. Then his body hurt all over, not a searing pain, no, but the pain of shifting tides rolled furiously within him, and then suddenly it stopped. Larcel saw out of the corner of his eye himself.

The other's they'd see the two forms, one whole and human, sharp features, gaunt with pale skin, dark hair and thin framed. The other didn't seem completely whole, nearly ethereal, hair light and skin smooth, pale as well, but not nearly so as the other figure, the features, while still thin, were a hint more full, healthy in fact, a figure that hinted at soft hugs, but not much more then that. The two seemed worried, for they knew, as per a deal made prior, that one could not exist with out the other.

Just as the girl spoke, a loud series of bangs, wails and moans could be heard on the second floor, and Morla, the darling black cat would bolt to the stair case, stand at the bottom and howl up. If anyone looked they'd see an unclear figure menacing at the top. It was the powerful demon that arranged this deal with the two. Morla continued to hiss and howl, the demon continued to make it's inhuman sounds until finally it's voice boomed.

"Who broke my contract?" And as the voice rattled the house the pale Larcel would crumple, his skin going cold, and the ethereal Larcel would slowly fade.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 11, 2010 2:25 pm

Raven's mouth dropped. She didn't know what was going on. She didn't know about any of this.

"He did." Said the taller man. He was unmoved by the cat, even though he, too, was a demon. His human form that he had on was for show, and frankly, he liked it more than his demon form. His human form was very handsome--his demon form, not so much. "And if you don't recognize him, it's the Prince of Silence." He breathed out smoke from his nose. When he went to take the cigarette briefly out of his mouth, his sleeve slipped and revealed his shackle. He was not here voluntarily.

The boy--identified as the Prince of Silence--stood unmoved by the cat's protective mewling up the stairs at the other demon. If the demon did not know, the Prince of Silence was part of the Kingdom: a clan dedicated to the mysterious task of protecting the Amulet of Sound. The clan was renowned and almost feared by the demons of the world for their odd obsession with humans and the powers that allowed them to operate their unknown operations. The King of Flesh was the Prince of Silence's ancestor and "father". If one wanted to know the kind of power this clan and this King possessed, just look at the accompanied demon. They had the power to shackle him--all his powers and form.

The Prince paid no attention to the cat, or the other demon. He pointed to Raven. He stared at the two of them. Their bodies' would be stable, but not for long. The Prince had no intention of keeping them in this state for very long, but he had one thing he wanted to accomplish here. Then he would let the bodies rejoin.

The older-looking demon took a drag of his cigarette. "I think Stitch wants you to explain this...ah...well this. Just explain this to that chick." He took another drag, keeping an eye on the cat. He was no Prince. He had no special reputation that could keep him safe. He had to reply on the Prince to protect his prisoner--but knowing the mercy of most demons, he would not count on that.

The demon at the top of the stairs howled and the cat, protectively, howled back, not paying any mind to anything else. She had one mission, and she was going to do it. The demon's howling turned into laughter, and then it spoke in deep deliberate words from a voice that didn't seem to just come from the top of the stair.

"Then I will gladly go make a new one with another soul," said the demon from it's perch. "I," it continued, "will recognize the prince and his authority."

The two halves were slowly growing weaker being apart in this way, each tried to speak, but neither half could. The solid, pale half could barely move, while the healthy-looking nearly see through half couldn't make a sound but tried to speak. Even with out the Prince of Silence there, this would still be what happened. Finally the two were rejoined, the two faces shifting, rolling like a mist over the figure. The pale face took hold.

"I did not sign up for this!" He exclaimed, furious, to the floor above. The mist rolled again, the two silently fighting for control. The warm face took hold.

"We made a deal with the demon upstairs," the warm face's voice sad ruefully to the Prince and the elder. He crossed the room toward Raven and stood just in front of he in a protective manner. The mist picked up again and one would take hold and speak, but from being so weak, the mist would roll again until another spoke.

"I ******** died!" the pale face said, still furious, lashing out much like a child.

"As did I," the warm face added in a calmer voice, slightly sad.

"I never asked for this," the pale face said in an angered weakness.

"We did not know who we were getting a second chance from."

The mist rolled, the two silently fighting for power over the body.

"This is MY body!" the pale face took control, wrapping his arms around his slender middle, a tear rolling down his cheek. He was angry, yes, but he was also rather frightened. The voice at the top of the stairs roared a laugh.

"The two had died, both wished to live, both resided here. I offered them a healthy body to live in for the rest of their natural life in exchange for caring for my needs. They agreed without question." The demon said.

"And," the warm face took over the body, "That cat came. She doesn't speak or anything, but she is the opposite of the demon. Their two paths can never cross."

Larcel then looked back to Raven giving her an apologetic look. He honestly had no idea what was going on and she was truly safe there with Morla to ward off the demon.

Oh...so that....Raven understood now. In a selfish way, she felt relieved. She somehow managed to find a place with lost ones. But, these lost ones were stuck with this demon.

"I'm...sorry..." She frowned, looking to Stitch. "Can't your end their suffering? Aren't you some...Prince? Can't you separate them again and let them be at peace?" She stared at him, tears swelling in her eyes. She felt so helpless in this situation. "Please?"

Stitch shook his head. He turned and went into the kitchen. Without a word, he resumed the cooking Raven started.

The older one shrugged. He looked at Larcel and the unnamed soul. "Well. Hate to say it--but you're stuck. He got you. I don't think there's even something Stitch can do about that." He he took a drag of his cig. "Anyways, I'm Thoth. And you'll have to not mind Stitch. He doesn't talk--so he works through actions. You eventually get use to it." He took another last drag of his cig, glancing up the stairs to the demon's voice, then back to Larcel. He could see why Stitch came here: poor Raven was brought into a demonic turmoil she didn't belong in.

The pale face glared at Toth, then looked away, but the warm face took over the body while the pale one went to rest for a bit.

"We are Larcel," he said, still a bit shaken. "We are two very different people, but we have benefited from each other. I had forgotten everything of my old life, so I take on Larcel's. He shares it with me. Our thoughts are one. He's not very happy right now. I do apologize."

Larcel, the duel being looked from Toth to Stitch, but then looked down to Raven.

"You must know why I haven't told you, yet, but also know, we'd never take you to the attic, or have you meet the demon," Larcel's green eyes were pleading, hoping she wasn't upset with him, them, either of them. He didn't mind Stitch or Toth making themselves at home, but he did turn back to Toth.

"I hate to ask, but, could you not smoke?" he knew it was a bold choice, but sometimes all it takes is a polite, and respectful asking. He moved away to the front of the living room, just passed Toth and opened the two windows there to vent to apartment.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 12, 2010 8:11 pm

Thoth shrugged. He extinguished his cigarette by pressing down on the flame with two fingers. He then found a trash can and politely threw it away. He was a house guest--for all that meant anymore. He was a demon with some--even if little--principals. He was gaining more by the day though.

"I-I'm not mad! I kinda...knew...there was something strange." Raven confessed slowly. She had to keep telling herself: he was a lost one in a material body. He wasn't just a material body. She could trust him with it--just like any lost one. "I saw the two souls. It isn't hard for me to notice...I...see souls. Lost ones. I always have. I try my best to help them accept death and move onto the next life. I've met so many people, so many who have passed on and...so...this isn't too far from that." She bit her lip, "So stop looking at me like that or I really am going to cry!"

Larcel finished opening the windows, and moved back across the room, he thanked Toth for putting out his cig in passing and moved back to Raven. He listened to her words. he listened and understood. He allowed his expression to change, offering her a warm smile.

"I wanted to tel you at some point, I just didn't know how or when," he said gently to her. He then turned to Toth.

"So, why are the two of you here?" He then glanced back into the kitchen to Stitch, addressing them both.

[[OOC: Note--> It's "Thoth" not "Toth" ^^;; ]]

Raven sniffed, "Y-Yeah...Same...Here." She rang her hands together. She looked back at Stitch, and then back to Thoth. She had the same question.

Thoth shrugged. "I honestly couldn't say. I just follow him around. He has his own...reasons. I can speculate though." He shrugged, "I think this was an interesting situation and neither of you had to hide so...he changed that." Thoth shrugged. "But I honestly couldn't tell you. It seems more disruptive than anything, but that's just me."

The demon at the top of the stairs seemed to have become bored with the situation, and Morla, the guardian cat, had simply sat upon the stair.

"Well," Larcel said softly. "You are both welcomed to stay and eat ... if you eat."

Larcel looked down to Raven, not really knowing what else to say. He wanted to apologize, he wanted to sit and talk with her, but that would have to wait for later. Larcel went and took a seat at his 'dining room' table as the living room and dining room were both the same room, but big enough to comfortably fit both.

"I'm sorry, I just need to sit, I feel a bit out of it," being pulled apart nearly killed the two of them. If Thoth and Stitch weren't the one's here the demon upstairs might have just let it kill them.
