((Alright. Pretty much starting from scratch again with the original gang. Figured if we were going to restart, we should restart at one of our starting points. ;D Any questions? Feel free to ask as we work out the kinks.))

"Hey, let it be already!" the girl protested. The group of boys snorted at her and went back to tormenting their prey, driving the poor thing into a corner of the alley they were in. The girl, who had raven black hair tied back into a twist, grabbed two of the boys by the backs of their shirts and literally threw them out of the alley. She gave her signature glare to the other boys and they darted out as well. She let out a sigh and crouched by the stack of boxes the creature was huddled in, holding out her hand.

"Shhh," she murmured softly, "It's okay, I won't hurt you."

The stray kitten hissed at her and chose not to come out of its box. The girl let out a sigh.

The girl let out another sigh after a few minutes and crouched a little lower, though she kept her knees together. Even with her back facing the mouth of the alley, it was habit to keep people (or cats) from seeing up the kimono she was wearing for the festival. She held perfectly still so that she wouldn't frighten the stray. It was completely covered in mud, except for its blazing green eyes, and with its fur caked to its body it was obvious how thin it was. The girl resisted the urge to let her fingertips twitch, the only indication that she wasn't made of stone being the faint rising and falling of her slight chest.

The girl smiled slightly when the tiny creature poked its head from around the side of one of the boxes.

"That's it, come on. I won't hurt you, I promise," she murmured soothingly. Its whiskers twitched, and it slowly crept out a little ways.

The girl held back a sigh when the kitten ducked around the boxes again to hide at the loud voice. She glanced irritably over her shoulder; there were enough people at the festival to skew her senses slightly, though she couldn't see anyone near the mouth of the alley. Her sharp obsidian eyes narrowed slightly before turning back to the stray's trembling form, her own slight figure becoming stonelike again.

The girl's ears flinched backwards as they funneled the sound of stuggling. Her eyes narrowed slightly but didn't peel from the boxes; she knew better than to look over her shoulder.

The girl let out an irritated sigh and decided that the kitten wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. She straightened up and walked to the mouth of the alley. Her bare feet didn't make any sound as she stepped. She glanced around and spotted the two, then walked silently to them and reached up on her tip-toes to tap the boy on the shoulder to get his attention.

The girl smiled slightly, lacing her fingers behind her back.

"The lady asked to be put down. Isn't it rude not to?"

The girl nodded once, shifting her weight to one leg.

"May I also point out that you're standing in a crowd and almost everybody can see straight up her skirt?" she added. Her voice had a slight burr to it from some sort of Northern accent.
