My favorite game ever is called Shadow of the Colossus. I heard they were making a movie out of it. God, I hope not. My personal opinion is that Hollywood massacres pretty much everything that comes it's way.
And SotC... It's a beautiful story, and fascinating in it's lack of background information. I'm fairly sure that Hollywood will screw it up and make it into some shallow crap with at least 3 sex scenes.

Yeah, hollywood needs to stop making movies based on games. It's always a bad idea.

In a nutshell, yes, so far all of them have been bad. But that isn't to say they couldn't be good, they just always wind up changing the story too much for its own good.

Agh, they made a Zelda movie, Dammit! It was so horrible in the previews, I'm not going to even bother....
Link was ugly, and his clothing was horrible. I almost cried, what did they do to my Link!?

Yes movies based off games never do well. For that matter, most books turned into movies solemnly do well. Because hollywood has this insane idea that the way it was made isnt good enough and tries to add a few more details. It doesnt always work, but sometimes it does. For games, it never works.

games are a bit more difficult to apply to movies than books. books are already a set plotline; but games are meant to be interactive in a different way.although, personally i think hollywood is just half-assing it, the point still stands. hours of gameplay, frequent deaths and restarts, and accidentally running into a wall or turning around are not things you want to see in a movie. i figure you guys already know that
