Thanks to Blix Divine for making this awesome thread!
Booty Grab Basics

By now, you've probably discovered that Booty Grab is the quickest and most fun way to earn some Gaia gold, unless of course, you've purchased some Gaia cash and invested in some of the collectibles and cash items to sell in the Market Place.

How do you play Booty Grab? Here's a play guide and explanations of the different power ups and downs you'll encounter playing Booty Grab. BOOTY GRAB GUIDE

Having some lag problems? Here are some tips on taking care of some of the lag when playing Booty Grab: LAGGINESS TIPS

Another thing that will help with lag is to maximize the booty grab window! This has helped me a ton and since I started doing this, my scores have gotten so much higher!

Also, select the Low Quality setting at the bottom of the Booty Grab screen when its loading. This also helps lessen the lag.

Be courteous to your Booty Grab host! Sometimes courtesy will be "rewarded". I've gotten free fish, aquarium decorations, and even gold, from tank owners for being courteous. Yay for freebies! xd

Bump a glowing tank! Many Booty Grab tank owners have a Bump link in their signature. Post your score, write a little thank you note, or even a smile will do! Plus, a lot of thread owners do random giveaways in their threads. Although tank owners appreciate your notes inside the aquariums, your notes in the actual Glow Thread is even more welcome!

Follow the Gaia ToS when posting!

Suscribe to a few Booty Grab Threads! There are a number of threads that have contests for gold, fish and items, including the ones here! Since suscribing doesnt work in the guild pages, add us in your Quick Links at the bottom left of your window.

When you've built a good booty grab tank, join a few Booty Grab guilds! You can make friends with other booty grabbers and learn a lot from the pros.

Building Your Booty Grab Tank

Booty Grab is a simple and fun game to play, but building a Booty Grab tank is a science. Gaia has a few Aquarium guides written by players. Here are some that have helped me along the way. I've suscribed to this link so I can refer back to the guides anytime I have questions about fish.

AQUARIUM GUIDE LIST

Each Glow lasts for 12 minutes and has a maximum of 34 players. So your main goal in building an awesome Booty Grab tank is to maximize each Glow of your tank in terms of gold drop and players. Your tank can glow any where between 6 to 10 times in a 24 hour period, 1.5 to 4 hours between each glow with high trigger fish. Although I haven't experimented yet with the lower triggers, I spent a week timing each glow of both my tanks which consists of gwees/monsters and dolphins/ watermeats.

You will not be able to see your own glowing tank, but you can check if you're glowing and track the number of players by using the TANK ANALYZER. What's great about the Tank Analyzer this is that you can see which fish are glowing, the maximum gold amount for the glow, if they have chances of dropping items and an estimate birth and death date/time of your fish. I put in my ID, went to my tank analyzer, then bookmarked the page on my browser so I can return to it in one click without having to type my ID again.

Keep your fish happy! Keeping your fish happy correlates to the amount of gold it gives and possibly, the power ups in a glow. Your fish earns "happiness" points each day if your settings are to their liking. So make sure your settings are liked by the majority of the fishes in your tank, settings, meaning, Light, Temperature and Music. You should also feed them at least 2-3 times daily. Fat fishes give more gold!

Make sure you check your freebies from the Daily Chance and your Aquarium Overseer everyday! You can get free aquarium items like goldfish, cuttlefish, backgrounds and decorations from the freebies which will help with your tank's overall health. From what I've experienced, happy fishes give more gold and power ups in Booty Grab and tank health relates to the daily prizes you get from your Overseer. The higher tank health, the better the prize!

Check the Marketplace for cheap aquarium fish and decorations! Sometimes you'll find great buys. More fish and decorations earns your tank higher Health points, but be careful not to put too much decorations, where your tank can be too laggy for other Booty Grab players.

Building a Glow Thread

For the best exposure for your glowing tank, you should have a glow thread in the main Aquarium Forums with a link to a Reply Box in your signature! A direct link in your signature to a REPLY BOX will allow people to bump your thread with quick ease. Theres nothing more annoying than having to click 2 or 3 times to get to a Reply Box, especially with my crappy lappy!

The best glow threads have 1 to 4 featured tanks in the first page only. All bumps and posts should start on 2nd page and beyond. This lessens the time it takes for a page to load, especially for booty grabbers with older computers and lower-end graphic cards (like my crappy lappy).

Your first page should be simple. Try to keep it free of artwork and post only ONCE. Most serious booty grabbers do not like to scroll to the bottom of a very long page to look for a glowing tank, especially since your tank only shows once per page and shows only on your LAST post if you have several posts. Keeping artwork and fancy lettering out of the page will lessen the lag for many booty grabbers and load the page more quickly.

1. In the main Gaia Aquarium forum, create a topic titled DO NOT POST. On your first post, simply put: "Recycled Glow Thread IN PROGRESS. Please do not post." Hopefully this will keep people from posting in your thread until its done... but there ARE some rude and annoying people who simply MUST post on the first page your glow thread. (See first page of my glow thread, last post. I've pm'd the person 4 times AND left him a message on his profile and he still refuses to delete the post, citing "other people have posted", even though I've told him those are my mules!)

2. Each page in a thread has a maximum of 15 posts before going to the next page. So, start posting until you reach the second page. Make sure your other "featured" tanks are also posted on the first page.

3. When you reach the second page, start deleting all your extra posts on the first page, so that there is only 1 post per tank.

4. In your glow thread, click the reply button and copy the address of the reply box at the top of the window.

5. On your signature builder page, start typing your link. You can reach your signature in My Gaia -> Preference -> Signature. Since this requires basic BB codes, use this code to type your link:

BUMP HERE when I glow! (Leads to a Reply Box).

6. This should read: "BUMP HERE when I glow. (Leads to a Reply Box)." Press SAVE. Note: Your signature has a maximum of 255 characters with another 255 URL characters. So if your signature has exceeded these numbers, you'll have to delete something. There's a counter at the bottom of the Signature page.

7. Next, go to any of your post and test the link out. When you press BUMP HERE, it should lead to the reply box in your glow thread.

8. Now, change the title of your thread to your preferred title. Your title should have the word "glowing" in it to attract booty grabbers camping the main Aquarium Forum for glows and grabs. Also change your post to entice people to click on your tank for a game of Booty Grab.
