So where or how did each of them come from?

Hmmmm Good question . . . America's children XD. . .which raises even more questions O.o Although Alaska did come from Russia. . .and a lot of northern territory was taken from France. . .and some Southern from Spain. . .I need to think about this more.

Most people I talk to say that the states are America's children (and that he did sleep around a lot... England, Spain, France, Russia...). But then, there are some who say that the states are represented on America.
Like, you know how America's glasses are supposedly Texas? Yeah, like that.
Although, if that's true, I never want to live in Florida.
But I love topics like this, since then I can say that I'm one of America's kids~ The eldest, to be precise. Hehehe... >w>

Well everyone does make a good point, most people tend to say that Alfred gave birth or slept around a lot. (Which would make sense, but the pregnancy is kind of iffy...)
I'm not really good at explaining things, but I agree with Neko, maybe they were individuals that wanted or didn't have a choice to become apart of America.
If you look at the history of the states, then this would make perfect sense. Hetalia perspective: The other countries were lousy parents and America was better suited to take care of the territories/states.

Thank you, amanda.kahler.chan ^W^ I feel the same way, at least after looking at history. I mean, Russia sold Alaska. Texas wanted to become part of America. . .and there are a lot of other examples. . .my mind just can't remember them right now ><

Louisiana Purchase is another example. France sells it to America, and Hawaii is an example of just taking over...
