But she never let it go to her head, not once. She works with the gardeners, the cooks, the cleaners, and everyone else who does something in the castle. I let out a soft sigh as I watched the princess attend to flowers. They were like her children... she cared for them... no where close to how much she could ever care for me. I wasnt supposed to feel anything for her but loyalty, but... There was no changeing how i felt, was there? How could I? My only purpose was to watch and attend to her all day everyday. Life had always been cruel to me, and that would never change. I would keep her alive so long as i drew breath. That is why God put me on this earth.

Izzy smiled as turned over the soil and planted the seeds, just as the gardener had taught her to do. Izzy was nothing if not meticulous, and she followed every step from a perfect memory. But then she felt someone watching her, and she knew it was only her guard. So handsome. She sighed, knowing he'd never want a princess, and stood, plastering a smile to her face and walking over to him. "Having a good day today I hope?"

Lucien said nothing, for fear that she would realize some something about him. This process had helped Lucien from growing too close to the princess, as that would lead to nothing good. He knew her every ritual by heart and she knew nothing about him personaly. No one knew Lucien, acctauly. Not since his parents had died... That was past, a killer could be anywhere wanting to end the princess' life and that assault would be failed if Lucien had anything to say about it... but today fel different, today... he would speak, "I am well, princess."

Izzy hadn't been expecting him to actually answer her, because every time she wanted to talk he just lead her to her next event. It saddened her sometimes, but today, her face lit up when he actually talked to her. Could they possibly have a conversation today? That would be delightful! "That is good Lucien. Anything exciting happen today for you? My day was dull, just as always."

In a way, her quesiton was a bit foolish, "I do nothing but watch you, princess, and your day is as you said, dull." Lucien flinched, thinking that he heard something... not anything but a bird, probly, "My day cannot be any better than that, princess..." The noise still had him paranoid, something had to be out there....

Izzy sighed, knowing she shouldn't have gotten her hopes up. "Yes, Lucien, as you said," she said quietly. She took her silk wrap off, as the temperature had risen, and she felt her stomach growl. "Well, I suppose it's time for lunch. You'll like it today, Mrs. Carter cooked." She smiled a deflated a smile and lead the way into the main house.

"Yes, princess..." There was something wrong with her smile... something.... familiar... Lucien ignored this and followed after her, making her safety priority over his emotion, as he always had. She was his world... the past few nights, he had said that to himself after his prayer... She was everything to Lucien, and she would never understand that...

Izzy walked into the dining room with Lucien and was seated at the table by one of the butlers. When he asked her what she wanted, she replied with her customary "Whatever they have in the kitchen." Izzy turned to Lucien and didn't smile because she knew it would look wrong. "Dont even think about refusing lunch Lucien. Mrs. Carter wont let you."

"I wouldnt think of it..." She was the most well behaved of princess, not stuck up or stupid like the suitors who came to have her hand in marrige. Lucien hoped that they all married fat, ugly, disspleasent princess. The princess deserved the best, if it even existed.

RaVeN_LoVe_92 Izzy saw a look on Lucien's face, but she didn't know what it was, and she didn't say anything about it, just left it alone. She sighed happily and thanked the butler and gave her thanks to the chef when the food came. Of course, Mr. Carter gave her to much food. She was forever trying to get more meat on Izzy.

Izzy would have gladly answered his question, but she was shocked by the tone of his voice, and when she looked at his face, by the look of his face. She looked at him, confused as to why he might be mad at her. But she didn't say anything about it, just shook her head and looked down at her plate. "No, nothing."
