Welcome, everyone, to the poetry contests. I don't think as
many people will do these in comparison to the writing, so
the rules are a little different:
- There is only one grand prize
- You can choose any of the prompts and write as
many poems as you wish, but only ONE can be
entered in for a chance at winning. This way you can
try your hand at all of them and see which you want
to enter.
- This will run until the end of January, and then it shall
be judged.
PROMPTS:
Prompt 1 : Write a poem concerning the "absence" of something. Consider the absence as a positive, or a negative.
Prompt 2 : Write a poem using the following start: "What good is a day..."
Prompt 3 : Write a poem that starts at the end, moving backwards, recapping the event.
Prompt 4 : Make your poem from the view of an emotion, like "I am anger, flashing red in the eyes of men"
Prompt 5 : Think of your favorite type of weather and write about it
Prompt 6 : Start the poem with a feeling of despair, and bring it around into a happy poem (Or in reverse)
Prompt 7 : Give us a poem about what you think would make the world a happier place.
Prompt 8 : GFHC POEM! Make it an epic poem about all the GFHCers, and our exploits! =3
